They damaged my pants twice when I brought them in for repair (patching a hole). The first time they returned the pants to me with a NEW different hole, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The second time they returned the pants to me with some giant, crusted on black stain across the front and crotch that completely ruined the light-colored pants. The lady refused to accept any responsibility and told me I must have given them to her like that - as if I would want the now unusable pants repaired for some reason without having noticed the giant stain? This place is a nice mom & pop place. I'm sure they do good work but I was shocked coming here for the first time by their prices. I dropped off 1 silk blouse for cleaning and 1 cotton jumpsuit that was a press only (no cleaning) and those two pieces cost $28. I asked if they had any special cleaning done and they didn't. Apparently clothes are also priced depending on the garment. I don't think I could afford to have regular cleaning done here and get surprise bills that might be crazy high if I dropped off more pieces. read more

This is the closest dry cleaner near my place so it's conveniently located. Prices seem a bit high, but I don't dry clean very often so it's not a huge deal. I just had my second batch of shirts washed and pressed there; at $2.50 each the total should have been $15.00 total - The lady tried charging me over $29.00! When I pointed out the price discrepancy she said she had to do a "special clean" on one of my shirts and it was 6 dollars extra (?!!). I then asked her what 15 and 6 equals - she then said that the rest is tax!! I then told her that I never authorized any "extra cleaning" and I certainly do not pay 33% tax on any service. This is exactly why I use yelp for just about everything!! I needed 3 pairs of jeans and 2 pairs of dockers hemmed, and needed someone local, and fast! The place was very quick getting the pants done, they did all 5 pairs in a day. They even took the tags off and washed/pressed them for free. All for 9 bucks a pair too, which is a pretty good rate. After dealing with the worst customer service at a place in Wallingford (noted in another one of my reviews), Cotton Cleaners saved my sanity. To make a long story short, we found this place after waiting 2 weeks for our dry cleaning and alterations (which they never completed!). Needless to say we were pissed off and weary of finding a new place, but we needed our clothes cleaned and hemmed. Enter Cotton Cleaners! The person at the counter was friendly and on top of things. We got our dry cleaning AND alterations done in 3 days! We didn't believe it when she said it but she really did follow through with her promise. We took a coat here to get the sleeves taken up. We had a narrow time frame due to a trip and she was able to accommodate it, did a great job and even steamed out the wrinkles. A review for their alterations service. I've only gone once for an alteration but enough to decide whether to go back and this is the breakdown.. Pricing: Very reasonable. $11 for a hem on raw denim. Location & Parking: It is "kind of" out of the way depending where you live and the parking was good when I went to drop it off but it was crowded when I went to pick it up. Quality and professionalism: I would give it an 8/10 in terms of skill level of the alteration. My mom is a seamstress and I guess you can say I'm a little picky when it comes to alterations but I did notice a slight un-evenness when I inspected the jeans but not enough to make her re-do it. Service: The people working there are SUPER SWEET and SUPER nice. I love it. After dropping it off to the alteration, I had to call back to ask the lady to let the jeans be hemmed a little longer because I hadn't washed the jeans yet and raw denim shrinks a lot onc it is washed. She was understanding and didn't make me feel like I was annoying her. Timing: It took only 2 days compared to some places that take TWO weeks. I went in on Wed night and picked it up Friday morning. Overall: if you have something simple that needs to be done, definitely go to them. But if you need something highly complicated - I would test out some garments that are simple first so you can get a feel for their service. read more

Also, for some reason their machine didn't process my debit card correctly, so I had to pay cash. This was probably a one-off kind of thing. I tried this cleaner, due to it's positive reviews on Yelp. However, this was a very bad experience. I wanted to clean my drapes in my apartment. So, I thought dry cleaning them would be best. I took them in on Monday and talked with them about how I just wanted a general cleaning. When I went to pick them up on Thursday, the woman behind the counter tells me that they ran them through twice and that there are now holes in the drapes. Huge 9 inch by 2 inch holes in the fabric!!! Now, I have to pay my landlord to replace the drapes in my bedroom. And, she still insisted that I pay $25 per panel even though she ruined them! read more

You know how sometimes it hurts to write a bad review? This place has done a good job with our drycleaning and a pretty good job altering my pants for a couple years now. The woman who runs the place is always friendly and seems to recognize us. So, this is killing me, but . . . DO NOT TAKE A WEDDING DRESS HERE. There, I said it. I think the level of cleaning and sewing required to properly treat a vintage gown is just beyond the skills of this place. Here's the story: Bought a gorgeous silk gown on Ebay and it very nearly fit! Only $50! So excited!! Took it in to see if I could get it let out just a touch in the ribs, get the tulle removed, and get it cleaned (just to be thorough - it already looked like it had been cleaned and was in great shape). The quote was $60, which seemed pretty steep based on what I'd seen online and previous experience at this store, but I sucked it up. Picked it up and brought it home to discover the bodice stitching was messed up, the tulle removal was sloppy, and it had somehow acquired stains that both I and the Ebayer swear were not previously there. To be fair, maybe cleaning the whole dress made some existing subtle stains more obvious, but that's not actually what it seems like. Anyway, took it back, explained the problems, and got it back again. The stitching was better, but still not good (major gaps between fabric and lining), stains were lighter, but still there. And, get this - the bodice is now so tight through the ribs I can't get it zipped. So, pretty much the opposite of helpful. Rather than risk taking it back a third time, I'm sucking it up and re-Ebaying it at a loss. Unfortunately, I'm also having to reconsider where to take my cleaning and minor alterations in the future. *sigh* I wish she'd just admitted she was out of her depth and I could have taken the dress elsewhere and preserved our good relationship. read more

I'm short and need a lot of pants hemmed, and I bought four pants to Cotton Cleaners and got them all altered relatively quick. They hemmed them perfectly and pressed them too! Due to the fact that Cotton Cleaners is a local dry-cleaning provider, I tried too look past several unethical business practices. These included, yellowish stains on my shirts (of which the company took no responsibility for), overcharges on several occasions, and each time the default of Cotton Cleaners was that they did not understand or simply forgot, no refund was given on such occasions. It's unfortunate that they feel it is necessary to conduct business this way. read more

So far my favorite dry cleaner in the North Seattle area. I've been to Seattle Best Cleaners and Northgate Cleaners and neither of them even come close to Cotton Cleaners. The prices are moderate and I absolutely love the fact that they hand the dry cleaned shirts facing left when I hang them in my closet. All the other dry cleaners Ive been to in the past make the shirts face to the right which I really dont like. The quality of the dry cleaning and the pressing is great and the alteration work they do is awesome. I had a blazer that needed the sleeves taken in so I took it there and I was pleased. I dont remember how much I paid for it, but I want to say it was between $25-$30. I had a ton of other stuff that was being dry cleaned so everything came out to like $50. Great alteration and fast!! Dropped off some lined suit pants to be hemmed on a Wed. I was asked if a Monday pick up was fine which I thought was a good turn around time. The next day, something came up so that I needed the pants on Saturday morning. Went back in around noon on Thurs to talk to the lady to see if they can get it done by Friday afternoon. Guess what? They were ready to be picked up! She had finished them that morning. So I got a 24 hr turnaround time, great workmanship, and a good price ($18 for lined pants). I have taken my clothes to Cotton for a couple of years and have always been pleased with their cleaning and alterations. One of the shirts that I recently picked up had a stain on it that wasn't there when it was dropped off. I always look at my dirty shirts before I take them to the cleaners in case there is a problem like a stain that needs specific attention. The stain on the shirt I picked up was in an area on the front near the pocket - a spot I would have easily seen before dropping the shirt off. I didn't see the stain until I wanted to wear the shirt a week after picking it up. When I took it back to Cotton with some other shirts, I pointed it out. The shirt was not an expensive shirt - it was permanent press - but it had been stained in Cotton's shop. When I picked up the all the shirts several days later, I was told that they couldn't remove the stain and that they didn't cause it. If they had offered me ANYTHING like $10 off my next cleaning bill or something of similar value, I would have been happy but they offered NOTHING! I will never use Cotton again. read more
