When we arrived to our site there was trash scattered all around. Trash all throughout the property too. Huge improvement is needed by the staff to clean and maintain the bathrooms. Super gross and looked like they weren't cleaned once while we were there for 3 days. Showers were just as bad. All I'm saying is, for $70+ a night, I expect more from staff to maintain this park.

A great little known park by the Yakima river, on the way into Selah and with access to the…read moregreenway path and the Selah ridge hike on the William O Douglas trail. Access to this park is off of Resthave road just before you get to the exit for Selah. Take the exit, turn left and cross the freeway to go down into the park. The parking lot here has room for 50+ cars. There are a couple nice covered areas with picnics tables and a number of grills placed throughout the park. There's a lone bathroom at the east end of the park near the greenway path. The grassy area here is excellent for running around, having a picnic or just taking a stroll! A greenway auxiliary path runs into the park and provides access to the main pathway as well as an offshoot to Selah ridge where you can hike a section of the William O Douglas trail up the hill. A very nice park with access to the greenway, the river, Selah ridge and picnic areas - what's not to love!

They are located in a remote area, so there is no cell service, and wifi is only available right by the office, but they do have a great selection of loaner DVDs, which kept my hubby . That said, this is the sort of place that we want to go camping all the time now! We're definitely not go out in the woods and sleep on a camping pad under the stars type people. We're more camp where we can see the car and have a bathroom around type people. This definitely trends towards the latter. This little campground is about 17 miles past Bron Yr Aur in Naches and is an absolute gem of a spot. Upon checking in, you find they have a small store with plenty of food and beverage options. They have spots for tent camping, cabins with beds, and plenty of RV parking. We went up here for a friends birthday weekend and opted for one of the small cabins. It was named "mamas place "and was lovely. The cabins are newly renovated and have small kitchenette's, a nice TV, And most importantly were warm! The two that we saw in so I did not have bathrooms, but there is a shared central bathroom and shower house that's close to everything, and is also heated! On the grounds, they have a small beach area where the kids could go throw rocks in the River and during the summertime everyone is able to get into the water to cool off. They have tons of play equipment for kids to run around and play on, some awesome area for people to ride 4 x 4's if they brought them, and they even have a meadow type area where they hold weddings. It's incredibly picturesque with the river in the background and the cliffs behind it. Go out there at night and check out what they called the fire flies - a bunch of lights set up in the meadow the dance on the trees. It's pretty awesome! You are just close enough to be able to run into town for something you forgot, but also far enough away that your cell phone isn't going off all the time because the reception is bad. This is actually about as close to perfect spot as we've been, and we're really excited to go back!

We made a nice little fire and drove to nearby areas where we were able to get good photos and just relax. The scenery was beautiful and it was super peaceful and quiet. We had absolutely no cell service (Verizon) idk about anyone else. It was a nice getaway for the weekend. Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable experience and I would do it again

We stayed at Sawmill Flat Campground for 3 nights in July 2014. We stayed in Site 5 with a large…read moretent, 2 adults, 2 kids and our puppy. We were able to fit our truck and box trailer on the parking pad. Site 5 was spacious, flat, and afforded some privacy - only neighbors on one side/behind you. Easy walk to bathroom and close to drinking water. This is a smaller campground, but it has a nice paved loop for the kids to ride their bikes. There is access to the Naches River but it was very swift and cold, so not really suitable for young kids to do more than splash at the shore. We did see adults fly fishing up river. There are plenty of decent vault toilets and the drinking water was cold and clear. Camp host was friendly and had lots of firewood to sell. The campground was quiet even though it was almost full. There wasn't much noise from Hwy 410. Site 7 is the closest to the Hwy, but has no neighbors, The sound of the river is nice. Bugs weren't bad at all during our stay, but there are lot of ant (they didn't bother us). Lots of chipmunks so keep you food closed up. The Whistling Jack Lodge is about 5 mins away if you need more provisions. Overall, a nice campground.

Roza Recreation Site is a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recreation site in the Yakima River…read moreCanyon towards the southern end of the canyon. A sign for the site is clearly visible from Washington State Route 821 (also called Canyon Road) and the entry drive and parking lot inside the entrance are both paved. I purchased a day use permit (good on all BLM managed lands for the day) on site. The pay area was clearly marked and the instructions for how to pay and display your day use or overnight use permit were posted by the pay drop-box and easy to follow. I did a little walking around. A map of the site is posted that provides the lay of the land. There are spots allocated for camping, picnic tables area, and a boat ramp/waterfront area. There were some grassy/treed areas one could explore past the campsites, but I stayed in closer to the parking lot on my visit. The rocks in the Yakima River Canyon are gorgeous, and the basalt cliffs on the far side of the canyon from Roza are no exception. Beautiful location to just take in the beauty of nature. It was windy the day I stopped. Hedgy the Hedgehog, my travel companion of the day, and I sat at the picnic tables and decided it was too windy and she might blow away if she sat there while eating so we stayed in the car to eat. After eating we used the restrooms and departed to explore the canyon driving north on Washington State Route 821. Restrooms at this location are pit toilets that one cannot throw trash into. I was on my period, so this mattered. The restrooms at the other BLM managed lands I stopped at along Washington State Route 821 are also pit toilets. I figured this to be the case when I stopped here (my first BLM land of the day) so adjusted accordingly. No trash in the toilets when on your period means the feminine hygiene products one is using, be it pads and/or tampons, cannot be thrown in the toilets. I bring ziplock bags on my adventures just for this reason. Wrap the pad, tampons aren't my thing, and seal it in a ziplock bag and throw it in a trash can. I find ziplock bags do a good job of lessening the blood smell. Other bags work too. If you don't want to carry the hygiene product outside of the restroom with you there are rest areas along Interstate 90 (I-90) where disposal of pads and/or tampons is simple and straight forward. On this visit, in the afternoon on Monday the 29th of June 2020, the recreation site was not very busy and the parking lot not very full. One of the perks of adventuring on a non-holiday weekday if you can!

This site, like many of the Bureau of Land Management sites, is filthy. The restroom had so many…read moreflies in it you could not step in the door. The overnight fee is $15 which provides no amenities not even trash. I am disappointed that our government can not seem to do better than this.
