Over the course of 7 weeks, all of the staff including the doctors worked with me to complete all of my tasks and even teach me veterinary technician to veterinary doctor level work. Additionally, everyone was very nice, willing to teach me, and had the patient to review or repeat anything I felt like I needed more practice doing. I have to say the coolest part of everything was getting to see behind-the-scenes of how a clinic is run and every animal is taken care of to a great extent. Every single person that is on staff at ponderosa veterinary clinic truly has a heart for providing the best service and care for your pets. I mean...even with the hard reality of having to euthanize an animal that is in pain, everyone works together to make sure that the client is being well taken care of (a candle is lit with a sign to make sure everyone is being quiet and respectful during that time), all of the pets postmortem care is underway, and for each and every euthanasia a sympathy card is sent out with a sweet message from everyone on staff. If that's not going above and beyond I don't know what will. Overall, I don't write all of this to just give a good review for my experience but, to show that this is a great clinic that will take great care of your pets if you are in the phase of establishing your pets at a veterinary clinic. I also want to thank everyone on staff for everything that I mentioned. I had the best time and will never forget my time there!

They even had the wrong owner information and refused to correct anything when I called. A staff member flat-out refused to accept updated records. I am a medical doctor, and I can say confidently: losing medical records like this is dangerous. Your pet could get duplicate vaccines, wrong treatments, or be denied emergency care because this clinic has no idea what they've done before. Their negligence has now disrupted my international travel because my dog doesn't have the documentation he needs -- all because this clinic cannot keep records. If they mishandle my dog's file this badly, I'm terrified for what could happen to yours. Proceed with extreme caution. The vets are great but the management of this clinic and its records is very unsafe for pets.

Got her vaccines at a very reasonable price, they're very communicative, and it's a small veterinary clinic, but I really liked the atmosphere. Today my dog was bit by my neighbors dog, and I needed to take her in for some stitches. They were able to get me in unscheduled with no notice over the phone and got my dog taken care of same day. Again, the price was reasonable. The staff was amazing. The suture line is clean and straight. Their staff explained everything got me an invoice and an estimate. And I feel that they really care about the dogs. If you're looking for a vet on the west side of Colorado Springs, there is no higher recommendation that I could offer

Now High Plains will no longer fill 3rd party prescriptions and insists their own online pharmacy helps "ensure medication safety, quality and accuracy" The exact same meds via High Plains costs $43.13.

We had an appointment and records were not received from previous vet. Staff was condescending on why they never got it. Didn't realize I was in charge of this. Last appointment my dog came in for a well check. The doctor took some biopsies and said she was due for shots. So he gave her her shots. They failed to put that in her records. I needed this information for grooming. I expressed I was there two weeks before. He had gave her some kind of shots? Again staff was dismissive. They only had an appointment for shots 3 weeks later? AGAIN Never ever going back to this place. Awful.
