Staying locally....like 100 yards away..."what's that place?" I ask. My wife replies oh it's a brew pub, I never know what to order. It'll be okkkkkk, I'll walk ya thru it. Thankfully the drive there was short, not sure I hit a street, that close. The foyer was a little musty, I think they got hops growing? Lol, or something. The feel of the place is brick industrial, there's a whole lot of shiny brew stuff behind the glass....go ahead knock on the glass I dare ya...double dare ya! I like the industrial feel. Christine was our waitress, she smiled at my humor...that's important...only to me. Lol. Nice choice of brewed on site stuff...lager, pilsner, kolsch, brown and ya an IPA or two for the hipsters. Some rotating taps as well. Good beer. I did the bear hump, kolsch, and road ranger. Food wise it's a pub deal...dry rub BACON AND MAPLE WINGS...BACON ANNNNNNNDDDDD MAPLE. So Canadian hoser. We also had pan nachos. The nucleus was huge, that's important too as is my humor...if ya don't understand nacho nucleus, well... I shake my head. I ordered the beer flight. Let me preface this by saying that I am not a big beer drinker so I may not be the best to give a review. I enjoyed 4 out of the 5 beers on the flight. The Amber was just not for me at all. I ordered the enchiladas as my main course and was actually disappointed in it. The pulled pork was overwhelmed by the extra sauce on top. I was really looking forward to tasting Canadian BBQ but didn't get the opportunity. While I question how insanely laid out this restaurant is, the food was exceeded my expectations. Laid out with more than ample space, and an unbelievably inefficient use of said space there's limited Space groups over 4 to a table. The beer here however it is quite good with a number of the selections winning awards at different Brew competitions, the service was efficient and fast and prices were reasonable I would recommend this as a stop on your way through Lethbridge. read more

I've been a fan of Coulee Brew's beer for awhile and I was excited to get to visit the brewery in person last week. We arrived for dinner around 6:30 on a Tuesday. There were fewer tables than I expected but there was plenty of space for us so it's safe to say you won't need a reservation during the week. I started my night with a pint of the Range Road Cream Ale and it was excellent! I definitely recommend it for anyone who likes a smooth, light beer. Next time I will have to try out a flight so I get to sample even more of their brews. While the beer was fantastic, I wasn't blown away by my dinner. They had a few different vegetarian options and I went for Pedro's Pasta which consisted of a tomato butter sauce and goat cheese on a bed of spaghetti. It was tasty enough but a bit on the bland side. Overall, I was happy with the service and the atmosphere of Coulee. My biggest regret is that I hadn't brought my growlers with me for a fill! read more

First of all if you have a peanut allergy don't come here. They just place a tin of peanuts at your table without asking about allergies. The food is not only expensive (a shareable plate of nachos is $22, without meat) but they charge extra for an additional dish of salsa. The one that comes with it is tiny. Maybe if the nachos were good I wouldn't mind this but how hard is it make good nachos. There is very little cheese, and the chips taste stale. The sour cream even tasted close to expiry. Wife and I stopped here on the way back to Calgary after a long road trip south of the border. We got here on a Sunday afternoon just after lunch time. The restaurant has a cavernous interior with lots of rooms and nooks & crannies. The beer and food were all good and we were able to refill our growlers here. Our bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable but he seemed overworked and appeared to be the only person working about 10 tables. I took off one star because the place looked like a day care center. I've never been to a BREWERY that was so full of kids, many free range children running around without supervision. So, first time there. Interesting decor, a little dark, kinda hard to read the menu. Had a burger, saw a mention of Cole slaw on the menu, never expected it to be on the burger. Were I at home I would have scrapped it off, cole slaw should be on the side. $17.00 for a burger? Definitely a very large pattie, cooked just right, just not a $17.00 burger. Fries had a very interesting shape and texture, would eat them again! 2 different waitresses?? Second waitress asked if I was done with my plate as I am lifting a frie to my lips, I let her figure it out. She got it reasonably quickly. I should start by saying I am not fond of beer and so can't evaluate this places big draw. My dining companions were beer aficionados and they loved it, along with the beer samples and flights. My shrimp po' boy and sweet potato fries were good but not exceptional. Neither the waitress or menu explained the sides that came with most meals and so most of us ended up paying an unexpected extra charge for the sweet potato fries. Good food, good beer, excellent server (Daniel)! We had 1/2 price wings (Sunday special). I had lime garlic rub with ranch and hubby buffalo sauce ones (hot!) Mine were excellent! All sauces house made(I believe) and were super good. We shared the BMS (burger, mushroom, Swiss) and it was really good. They make their own patties from fresh ground beef. And the salad was to die for! Coulee Brew Salad. It had something pickled (carrots?) that were wonderful. When we're in the area again we'll be back for sure. read more

Beer is good. Food menu looked adequate but we did not order. We have quite an affinity for craft breweries and while this one is good it is not one of the better ones we've been too. Certainly a cool environment and totally recommend checking it out if you are through Lethbridge. The krolsch beer is awesome as well as their very flavourful IPA. read more

For a more intimate experience, choose a booth or the comfy couches in the fireplace lounge area. The mushroom burger was delicious, but the IPA vinegrette dressing on my garden salad was bitter bitter bitter. The restaurant wasn't very busy, and the server was overly attentive, which was intrusive and made us feel rushed. Pricing is definitely on the high side: Mushroom burger $15.50 and although the menu stated that burgers come with a side dish, I was charged $1 for my side salad. Shrimp Taco (2) $15.00 and again, $1 was charged for the side of fries. I didn't notice the extra $1 charges until later, but if I go here again, I'll be inquiring about this policy before I order. Will I go again? For sure to try a new brew, but probably not for a meal. read more

Slow service, wait staff took more than 15 minutes to come over and take our drink order. Took over 45 minutes after ordering food to get chicken fingers and fries. Chicken tasted like fish, most likely caused by old oil in the deep fryer, unacceptable for a new restaurant. Fries were cold and over done. Great service, friendly and accurate. Hubby liked the beer he tried and not being a beer person I had a ceaser which was garnished with a different salt mix that was good and drink average. Cool that it promotes local breweries. Menue is adequate with small twists on a few common items. For example my brisket dip was like a beef dip but on sour dough bread and dip had a BBQ taste which was a nice change up. Hubby liked the chicken sandwich and daughters pizza was suprisingly large for a single serving. Inlaws fish and chips were reported as tasty. Servings are average and adequate. Service was not great. Food took a long time to come. There were only 2 of us and we ordered a burger and a salad so I was a little puzzled at the length of the wait time. Once it got to us, the food was very good. The beer was awesome! I had a blonde ale of some kind and my cousin had a beer that had an orange citrus hint and they were both really nice! I'd go back (probably just for the beer) but I think I'll wait awhile in hopes that they work out some of the kinks. read more
