Standard place to hang out, be it in Edmonton or Lethbridge. The staff were accommodating of our large table size and what I assume was the manager even brought out a table from the back to all most of us to sit together. They had several larger groups already in the place and a few smaller tables. So not crazy busy but there were tables to give attention to before us. Location wise, we needed to drive to get here but if you stay at holiday inn express, it's right across the street. I always enjoy the fish tacos and decided to grab a side of sweet potato fries as driving down to Lethbridge and setting up a booth works up an appetite. ;) Coworkers had a range of items from burgers to dry ribs. Service was prompt specifically for our food. I really appreciated that our drinks arrived without straws, as I'm making a conscious effort to use less plastic when I can. I also appreciated that they asked up front about separate bills. That's a small thing but makes a big difference how the table is managed. Volume of music was appropriate for a Sunday evening and we were able to talk easily amongst the group without feeling like we had to strain our voices (very good thing since the conference is tomorrow and most of us are speaking in some form or another throughout the day). Lots of space in the parking lot and street parking available too. I give this only 4 stars as there was a bit of weird gaps/lags in time for our service. We were one of the last three to arrive to the group of 12. You think drink orders would have started already but not even water had arrived to the table. We were left seated for a considerable amount of time before drinks were orders were taken. Waited again for food menus. Shared the 4 menus amongst us so we could be prepared to order at same time. That was when the rest of the menus arrived. At the end of our meal our plates were picked up quickly but then once again we sat there waiting to spot our waitress to ask for the bill. It wasn't a super busy night being a Sunday, so I was hoping she was already taking time to print them out. Nope. I've been here quite a few times and have normally had a great experience. I went for wing night recently and it was very busy which was to be expected so I prepared for that but surprisingly my wings came out quickly. Unfortunately speed did not equal quality. My wings were cold but when I received service they rectified the problem and gave me a new order. The wings weren't the best quality but better than what I received the first time. So this was my wife's and mine first time ever visiting a Hudsons Pub! We were a little overwhelmed with how noisy it was when we first entered, but it is a sports pub and it was a Friday evening as well! So to be honest it was completely understandable. The waitress, Kelsey, was very friendly and was pretty stoked to hear it was our first time to a Hudsons! So she mentioned it to the restaurant manager and he came over and gave us a very friendly welcome and hoped we enjoyed our meal. This goes a long way for me! Customer service is so key! My wife and I shared an appetizer to start! We had their deep fried pickles, or as they would like to call them "Frickles!" They were amazing! They were humongous and the batter so filled with so much flavour! Lots of crunch! But be careful, that first bite is really hot! Fresh! Yum! We then had our entrees! I had the Canadian Cheddar Maple Bacon Burger? Something along those lines! The maple was such a perfect hint of flavour to this delectable burger! Fries were so so but the burger... Amazing! Juicy and perfectly cooked! Not too messy either! My wife had the battered haddock and she mentioned it was quite a large meal. She couldn't finish all the fries. The haddock was amazing she said though. Coleslaw had a nice tang to it and the tartar sauce was perfect! People if you haven't checked out Hudsons... please do! It's a amazing! We went here last evening for some drinks and late-night food. The food and service were alright. However, we were disgusted to see the bartender/server named Maddie dancing on the bar top. It was extremely distasteful and trashy. Not to mention gross to have her dirty shoes where people eat and drink. I understand that this is a pub, however it is not a strip club and although she thought she was a sight, it was not a view any of us enjoyed while trying to eat our meal. I suggest the managers here teach the staff about professionalism and being classy. Also, Maddie, act like a lady. read more

I was delighted to find Hudsons. We are visiting from California and wanted to try a Canadian Pub, we checked yelp and asked our Air BnB hosts, they said it was good. Well, I thought it was fabulous! I had the absolute best fish and chips, ever!! (Shhh! Don't tell my British friends, they might not like that comment) My boyfriend had the Shepherd's pie and it was very good, the salad with it was really delicious, as well. I had the virgin rhubarb limeonade, very refreshing and he enjoyed his tap beer. If we ever travel and find a Hudson's definitely going to make that a dinner stop. The service was excellent though the draught beer was overpriced. By a lot. The seats are comfortable and the use of black for the tables and a dark shade of red gave the entire space a cozy feel. For watching a game the are several TVs attached high on the walls so that nothing obstructs the view. On a sports night I wouldn't expect a lot of women but I would hope the ratio to be a bit better than 10 to 1. To watch a game it's great for anything else it's not. read more

Last min decision to go for lunch today with a gf, and I'm glad we did!! This Hudson's is a great location! :) Service : Absolutely amazing customer service. Our waitress, Michelle, was incredibly awesome. Very knowledgable of the menu, and honest with her preferences on the menu. We definitely appreciate that! The general manager, Jesse (side note: really nice teeth & well dressed), was incredibly humble & genuinely nice, came out to ask how our food was and such. I really like that, it adds such a nice personal / comforting touch. All the staff at this location seem to work very well together, seems like a team effort and very flowing. We didn't wait around to be greeted & seated, waters consistently topped up (with fresh lemons & limes I must add). The entire staff was very friendly. Taste: Appys : Soy sesame glazed edamame beans & tomato basil soup to start. Edamame sauce was so amazing, I saved it to dip my chicken in lol . The tomato basil soup was really rich and too sweet for my palate. Not my cup of soup - haha. Tbh, It wasn't homemade so I can't really complain lol I knew what I was getting into when I ordered it .. Knowing it wasn't homemade and all lol My own fault haha it's kind of an unwritten rule with me, only order soup if home made lol. Mains: I had the Quinoa & Grilled chicken meal, it was fresh, flavourful, perfectly & lightly seasoned (which really is all it needed, natural flavours speak high volumes), It was a great and healthy option. The pomegranate vinaigrette was divine too :). My gf had the angry shrimp salad, she was it was delicious and the shrimp had the perfect kick of spice to them! Perfect portion size, she ate the entire thing and felt content with life haha. Presentation : Food was well plated for sure, appetizing and clean - no complaints there. And the portion sizing for everything was perfect, simply a perfect meal for one. Presentation of this location was clean, and washroom was clean also. Always a huge plus worth mentioning haha. Atmosphere: We went for lunch, and it was a sunny day today in Lethbridge, so lots of nice natural light flowed through the place. It wasn't too loud, from music or people, it was perfectly relaxing, calm, and I was comfortable. .. However, I can't speak for the others around us lol I am very sorry to anyone who I disturbed with one of my ridiculous laughs hahah #oops .. But in all fairness, we were laughing at an INCREDIBLY ridiculous selfie. Lol. Just be happy it wasn't the dolphin laugh haha. Overall experience : We walked out of there feeling incredibly content with what we ate (from the portion size to the taste) and the service we experienced for our lunch today. We both really have zero complaints. Our waitress even took the soup off the bill for me because I only tried 2 sips of it, I was honestly surprised! Ok place. The food is standard pub fare with a few winners thrown in. But For a beer place the focus is the standard yellow fizzy beer (pilsners, IPAS, ales), especially the Canadian mass produced stuff, not the kind of variety and selection that you might see in Belgium or at the Telegraph Tap House nearby. Also age is limited to 18+, so I can't bring my son. read more

I came here because a work colleague said it was fabulous and his favorite place in Lethbridge. So my expectations were high. The atmosphere was lively for a Tuesday night, but not overwhelmingly loud. The decor is typical pub; nothing unique. I sat at the bar, and the service was prompt and extremely friendly. However, my first disappointment came when I got the beer list. Seriously - a place with such a limited and boring draught list has NO business calling itself a "Tap House". I'll grant them that they represent Canadian breweries well, but the list lacked variety. I settled on an average Big Rock IPA. Despite touting the diversity of Canadian cuisine, the menu featured mainly standard pub fare. I chose the Bob & Doug's Club, mostly because I was taken by the McKenzie brothers reference. My second disappointment. The chicken breast was completely over-cooked and dry; the cheese barely melted. The best part about the meal were the French fries, which were tasty and fresh out of the fryer. The $1 up-charge for processed gravy out of a can instead of ketchup pissed me off, though. The best thing I have to say about this place is that the numerous TVs would be good for watching a game, as long as you didn't want to hear the sound (they play music instead). Also, the bartenders were SUPER nice and gave great service. In terms of the food and beer, I probably won't go back again. read more

I went there today and was extremely disappointed. The server I had today was very pushy, I could not even eat my meal which was very salty without herre asking me if she could take my plate even though she clearly saw that I was still eating. She took my glass but never gave my refill. When it came time for me to pay it took the server at five minutes to give me my bloody bill. Went to try out the new Hudson's Tap House last night. We were greeted by very friendly staff and sat quickly. There seemed to be a great abundance of waitresses there, unfortunately none of them seemed to know who was covering our table. So we sat, and sat waited to be helped. Eventually we had to ask someone to find our waitress (never a good sign). We ordered the Smoky Brisket and the Fish and Chips. The brisket was very greasy. We were left wondering that perhaps there was some sort of sauce missing from the sandwich, it was a disappointment. The fish and chips had a great light batter that did not over power the halibut. The fries were sadly soggy. Had the chips not been soggy, this dish would be great. The most disappointing part of our meals was the gravy. There is nothing better than homemade gravy, and to be served gravy from a pre-made mix was disappointing. If they are making the brisket there, homemade gravy should be a no brainier. read more

This is a beautiful pub with a friendly serving staff. However, the food leaves a lot to be desired. It was interesting to read another reviewer's post about the food leaving them feeling "ill"; not poisoned, just sort of sick. This has happened to us on more than one occasion at Hudson's. What's worse, is that they call themselves a "tap house." Applying the words "tap house" to this place is simply laughable. Yes, they have taps. But those taps pour nothing that warrants having attention drawn to them. read more

I have been to Hudsons several times since it opened in Lethbridge. It's not a Tap House, even if that's in the name. But they do change up the beer selection now and then, and I have to say I've always been very happy with my mixed drinks. The food is general pub food, but with a bit of a twist here and there. I'm a big fan of the avacado feta burger. Most of the food is above-average; I've never been disappointed with my food. I am disappointed that the very unique peanut butter wings are gone. There's a comfy atmosphere with lots of different seating areas, and a LOT of televisions. I'm not a sports fan so I wish there were some sections that had less, but, if you are a sports fan you will always have a decent view. The main downside is that the service level seems really inconsistent. Tonight my boyfriend and I went out for supper and the waitress didn't appear until several other people were sitting in our section, and she served them first. She also left abruptly once before we could order, and we had to ask for napkins and water. The food is generally served quite quickly unless they are really busy. So: bartenders and kitchen staff are good but waitresses (I've never seen a waiter...) are inconsistent. Would go when I'm craving one of their burgers or want drinks out with friends, but there are better places in town for a tap house or trendy pub experience. read more

The quality of the food far exceeded what one would expect from pub fare. Our waitress Kristy was so friendly and professional. Even the manager came by for a warm welcome. My husband and I came to Hudsons last Wednesday for wings. It was our first visit for wing night and it was absolutely fantastic! It was around 9pm and was pretty busy- we were promptly greeted and shown to a table. From the moment we sat until we left was 45 minutes! Service was fast, friendly and the wings were fantastic! Great flavor and very fresh. We do not go out often to eat in this city, as it is hard to find a good overall establishment. We will 150 percent be back to Hudsons! The sign on the table said our server was Sadie.. Not sure if that was our girl or not, but whoever it was that waitress was awesome! Thank you Hudsons for showing us a fast, clean, friendly and delicious place to eat and hang out at! Great job! read more

Love Hudson's! The atmosphere is awesome, great service, the servers/bartenders go out of their way to keep the vibe very positive. Great food, personal favorites are the maple whisky wings, and the avocado feta chicken burger. Anyone looking for good food, a pub atmosphere and nightlife in Lethbridge should check it out. read more

Went there because my brother had heard it was good. Wow what a disappointment. The place was crowded but that was not a big deal. We waited at the bar for a table to open up. The bartender was friendly and nice. We got good service on our drinks. And then eventually made it to a table. We had asked the bartender what the best thing on the menu was he said the beef dip. At the table we asked our waitress what the best thing on the menu was she said the beef dip. That it was divine. So we ordered the beef dip. It was somewhat soggy and basically flavorless. The beef dip was soggy enough on it's own that you didn't have to dip it. The french fries were just standard. Caesar salad was just standard. A hockey game started and the volume went up about 10 times from the music they were playing. The problem was you could see the hockey game but you couldn't even hear what the guy was saying. It was just a bunch of white noise at a very high volume. Ask the waitress if she could turn down the volume where we were. She said that was not a possibility. Basically paid $50 for both of our meals with an extra salad and a pop. It was way overpriced. The total meal was worth about 15 maybe $20 max. Wont ever go there again I would never recommend it.
