We live on a corner lot and our back/side yard was a total eyesore. The landscape designer/owner worked with us and really helped us to get the most bang for our budget. Needless to say we love our landscaping now! The crew did a great job and everyone we worked with was professional and really nice. My 3 year old liked the landscaping crew so much that on the day they did the work I had to run some errands and I told her it was time to go. She told me, "That's okay, I will just stay with them!" Haha. We would recommend Country Arbors to anyone who is in the market for some new landscaping whether the job is big or small. read more

Poor quality trees; overpriced and poor customer service. Out of the 5 trees I originally purchased 3 died - and the other 2 do not look healthy. They replaced the 3 that died but overcharged me and argued about the price. I was clearly told by the cashier (who was extremely rude, inpatient and evidently misguided in her information) that I was overcharged and would get a credit upon planting of replacement trees. Only to be told that was incorrect and I would not be getting a credit. Yet they could not explain why my receipt was incorrect - only to continue to blame it on the cashier not knowing what she was doing. Poor customer service and Poor quality product. They have an excellent supply of trees and shrubs and, the gals working inside the office for sales are super friendly and helpful, as are the young men who have done the plantings at our home. However, three other experiences with three different young employees (young men) has left me disappointed. The absolute rudeness and unprofessionalism of some of the young men who work on the exterior part of the premises is not acceptable. One employee was rude because he was watching a ball game on his phone and I apparently interrupted his viewing time (he was told to load mulch for me). Two other times (two different employees) with horrible attitudes, commenting on how much work it was going to be to load rock into my vehicle, saying he didn't have time to help me...? What the heck! (Mind you that is precisely what they were getting paid to do!). So rude. So so so rude. I'm always super friendly with employees, smile and say thank you...I've never had such horrible customer service as I have here. Three strikes you're out. read more

Don't do it. Save yourself the trouble. One of the poorer retail experiences I've had in 25+ years living the Champaign/Urbana. Purchased 16 shrubs and various other plants to the tune of $3,500 at Country Arbors. Not eye popping money, but substaintial for an individual homeowner. One of the shrubs immediately turned brown and died within a few weeks of planting. When inquiring by phone as to a replacement, was told to text pictures & details to them. I did. After no response, drove to the store with same pictures & receipts in hand. Gentleman who looked at the picture told me it may have been insect damage, which they don't typically cover. Considering it was the only shrub with issues of the the other 15 planted next to it/nearby, and had only been in the ground 3-4 weeks, I was skeptical. When asking for a replacement, was told the policy is that customers who take/plant their own shrubs get a 50% credit of the price towards a new purchase. I was not happy that they would not offer a full replacement, but was willing to accept some small measure of goodwill in favor of a local merchant over the big box stores. So asked for a discount on a yard of mulch. The answer was no. Not even $10 off? NO. NEVER. Owner sitting in a nearby office & pretty sure heard whole conversation, and did nothing. Message, we charge more, don't back our product & don't give a rip if our customers are happy or come back. You ask. You get. Purchased a replacement arborvitae at Prairie Gardens in Champaign on the same day. Same price as County Arbors - but you know what? They offer a full replacement policy if the shrub dies by winter - at no cost! How bout that! You can do better. Support those who care about their customers and communities. Go elsewhere. First thing you see when you drive into the parking lot is Chief statues next to animal statues. Attitude at front counter was entitled and dismissive, but not very knowledgeable. Store was so poorly stocked I wonder if owner has gambling problems. Impressive selection of plants brought this up from 1 star. read more

Love this place! Great family business focused on their core mission, being a fine nursery and garden center! They have beautiful, healthy plants, trees and shrubs, offer a good selection of hard scrape materials, provide additional design and installation services and back it all up with great customer service! One of the things that struck me about this nursery is the selection. I was pleased at the amount of vegetables they had to choose from. I even found purple basil! I didn't see that at any of the other greenhouses. They have many trees, bushes, ground cover, etc. My husband and I walked around for hours. My favorite thing there was the giant cow! They have topiaries (?) made from moss in various animal shapes. The cow was cute, and of course I HAD to have my picture with it. The funny thing is, the next time we visited they had dismantled the cow which apparently was in multiple pieces. He was on the ground with all his legs chopped off! Of course, I had to have a picture of that too. We will no doubt return to pick out our vegetables AND to check on the cow. read more

Two weeks before my trip from Texas to Illinois I called to see if they had a tree I was looking for for my husbands gravesite. I described what I was looking for and was told by the man on the phone that they had the type of tree (flowering, multi trunk, attracts hummingbirds, doesn't getting taller and wider than 10-12 ft) I was looking for. I asked about prepaying for the tree so it would be sure to be there when I arrived from Texas. I was told that wasn't necessary and they had multiple trees. When I arrived three days before my husband's memorial service and interment, I was told they had no trees that met that description and, of course, the person who I spoke to was not working that day. So, after traveling almost 100 miles (round trip) to pick up a tree, I went home disappointed and crying. read more

I have a large rock garden and a lot of dirt had moved in causing weeds to grow. I needed some tonnage of rock. I looked around and tried calling some places. Country Arbors had a great website, with a lot of information and made it incredibly easy for me to order river rock. Exact size, reasonable price and I scheduled it online in about 3 minutes. They called first and showed up on time. They put the rock exactly where I wanted it. I had an awesome conversation with their employee and got some great tips on how to spread the rock efficiently. I've used them in the past to order trees and still happy to say they provide incredible service. read more

You get what you pay for and with Country Arbors, you may have to spend a bit more but the results are well worth it. I had a front yard that was a mess of weeds, mulberry bushes, mystery plants, and every other kind of grubby looking thing, not to mention a Weeping Willow that I let get out of hand and it took over the front lawn. Jamie came for a consult. Really nice guy and knows his stuff. Very helpful. I gave him an idea of what I wanted and he ran with it and came up with just the thing. They came on the day as scheduled and completed the work by end of business. They did come up a little short on the rocks but came early the next morning to complete the task. Jamie took time to explain to me how to maintain the new shrubs, watering procedures, trimming, etc. They left the yard clean of all the old clippings, branches, stones, dirt , and greenery that they removed. Swept up everything and carted it away. Was I happy with it all? Well, I am hiring them to do more landscaping, so that should tell you. Everyone I have dealt with at Country Arbors has been helpful and professional. I have no reservations about recommending they for your landscaping projects. My son-in-law had also hired them years ago and still raves about their work. 10/29/12 All my new shrubs planted in July became victims of the heat and drought and died. Country Arbors said to wait until October and they would replace them all. True to their word, they did. They also came and completed my other project. They edged my yard, planted a butterfly garden, and resodded. It looks fantastic. Jamie gave me clear instructions as to how to maintain the landscaping. The workers took meticulous care to cut and trim bricks and sod for a perfect fit. Everyone was very plesant, considerate, and willing to explain the work. If I had the money, I'd hire Country Arbors to do my entire lot, but their good work and professionalism comes at a price and one that is well worth it. I will be calling upon them in the future for other projects. You could find cheaper but not better and in the end I'd rather pay the price for a job well done and be satisfied than to skimp and pay the price with a poor result. read more

We are blessed to have such a wonderful nursery in our area. The customer service is bar none. We purchased a Pacific sunset Maple from them last year and some burning bushes. They look wonderful this spring. Even making it throught their first winter--- one like we haven't had in years-- unscathed. We had the staff at Country arbors plant our purchases for us--- they were courteous and very neat. They made sure the plants were properly staked and mulched as needed . We will be spending many hours at the nursery again this spring as the selection of plants is amazing. Country Arbors Nursery did our backyard landscaping and it looks great! They are always friendly and have what we need when we need it.

Very disappointed in our experience with Country Arbors. Purchased 2 large trees last October and bought the 5 year warranty and they were planted in November. One died in the Spring and they finally came and replaced it but it took quite a few calls to get them out to do this. They replaced with a MUCH smaller tree and their comment when we questioned this was "that's all we had". Not acceptable but what could we do?! We were trusting them to be fair and they had such good reviews, we didn't question this. Had them look at the other tree since it just didn't look like it was filling out and leaves growing as it should at the time the smaller replacement was planted. Was told to give it fertilizer spikes and it would come out of it. Babied that tree all summer long and it never developed more than a few tiny leaves at the end of the branches all summer. Called in August and was told Shane would come and look at it in a week or so. Two weeks later, no Shane so we called again. Finally a week after the second call, he came and looked at tree and said it was dead too. Now we're in to September and my husband went to pick out a replacement tree. Couldn't plant for another 3-4 weeks and they finally came this week to do the replacement and it's not the tree we had picked out. My husband is very particular about the size and shape and remembers the one we picked 4 weeks ago as having a specific marking on it; the one planted did not have this. He went to speak with someone at Country Arbors yesterday and thought the tree was still on the lot but Country Arbors insisted they "marked" the correct tree and it was the one planted. This tree is NOT something my husband would ever pick. We'll see if these two replacement trees sprout properly next Spring. Not looking forward to having any further contact with them if these two trees don't make it. We should have a few more years of coverage on our warranty but we felt that since they had our money, we were at their mercy and they were in no hurry to assist and help to make something right that definitely was very wrong! We paid a lot of money for these first 2 trees which were shaped so beautifully. The 2 we have now are less than attractive but at this point we're praying they just look good through the growing season next year. We understand that the nursery is busy but we felt since we had paid for our trees, they weren't in any hurry to make a better or good impression. read more

My experience was terrible. I would like to start by saying that I bought 26-27 Arbovitae on Feb-March and all and every single tree were dead less than 6 months later. I got the money back but now it will be my cost to remove and dispose of all these trees. They were planted by Country Arbors and selected by them too. However, some of them had some brownish color at the time they were planted as they were dying or may have been exposed to the frost, I called Country Arbor back several times and when they finally came home they re-planted 8 of them. However, other were dead few weeks afterwards. I took care of these trees expecting to recover but I was surprised that no a single tree survive. I wanted to get a privacy fence and I called them back several times, but then they decided to send me a truck with some trees to replace another 5-6. I was surprised because the trees I was receiving were not good looking trees and were kind of brownish. They gave me credit on my credit card and told me that they did it because they wouldn't make me happy no matter what they did. However I spent about $3000 in trees because a privacy fence of Arbovitae was what it would make me happy. My trees as today 10/09/2014 are still planted, but we will remove them in the Spring. If anyone is interested to see them you can email me ( frdmedith@aol.com) and arrange for a time to see these trees. I wouldn't recommend these trees to anyone. I was told that mine could have had a fungi or an iron deficiency and that is the reason the all died so fast. read more
