For any person, avid camper, adventurer, tourist, or simply just a local wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city or looking for a short weekend getaway...this Lake Auburn Campground is it! Alright well, although it may not have all the amenities I look for when camping out (like showers, flush toilets and electrical AMP Power), I was easily able to overlook all of those additions for the simple fact this place is so easily accessible for folks like myself who showed up randomly without a reservation and needing a simple spot to rest for the evening. I couldn't have been more pleased and satisfied with my experience here. Let me run down all the terrific details this Carver Park Lake Auburn Campground offers.... - They have 57 campsites. - Prices are $15.44 for each campsite per night and then with 6.8% sales tax it = $16.50 in total. - They accept cash or check payments. - There's Wi-Fi, though cell phone reception works perfectly. - You can purchase firewood for $5 per bundle. - Check-in is at 4pm and you can check-out as late as 3pm. - You can re-register for each additional night starting at 11am. - Make reservations ahead of time by calling (763) 559 - 6700. - Quiet hours are 10pm - 7am. - Maximum of 2 tents and 6 guests per site or 1 tent and 1 RV. - Each site has a firepit and picnic table for barbecuing. - Pets are permitted at campsites but must be leashed among the grounds. - Even beer and wine are permitted, though no kegs or hard liquor. - How cool...they rent canoes, rowboats and single kayaks by the lake for $15 every 2 hours, and tandem kayaks for $20 every 2 hours. - Dump Station is $5. Some last things I'd like to mention.... - I discovered this Carver Park Lake Auburn Campground through the amazing app on my phone called Campendium. I highly recommend it for all camping enthusiasts. - The entrance road into the campground was not paved but easily drivable on very flat ground. - Once past the entrance station, I simply looked for an unoccupied campsite, backed my car into the space, set up my tent and then returned to the front section with my written check payment inside an envelope and released it into a white drop box. - I was able to pitch my tent on nice, fluffy grass which made the padding for lying down inside my tent that much more comfortable. Ya know, a lot of campgrounds are situated along hard, dirt ground that can make for difficult night sleeps. But not here, I always appreciate setting up on the grass! - Even though it was no big deal for me, there weren't any showers and only vault toilets. I guess just keep that in mind for when visiting. - The town of Victoria, MN is only 2 miles away and has all the extra necessities you'd expect from a big town like restaurants, grocery stores and even a Dairy Queen to stop in for a blizzard dessert treat at night. And that's it. I can't say enough good things about this Carver Park Lake Auburn Campground. Had I been staying in the area longer I'd happily camp out another few nights. In the end, I just keep thinking about how it was so peaceful here among the charming woodsy outdoors of Minnesota...I hope I can return during my 2022 summer cross country road trip.

When I first arrived on Friday I was greeted by one of the owners Merle. I was told where my spot…read morewas and informed it was pretty wet from this past weeks rain which I was prepared for. They have lots of great activities including a rubber duck race where the donate 1/2 of the money raised to the local food shelf. Everything was going great until yesterday(Sunday) when I decided to walk around the campground to check out more of the area. I was on the road at the far end of the campground when a campers 4 dogs spotted me and started running and barking aggressively. I stopped to try and give the owners a chance to call them off as well as hopefully deescalate the situation. That is when the German Shepherd came around the back of me and bit my bum. I said ouch. The owner finally got the dogs attention and put him in their camper. I left and went back to my camp site. I saw the skin was broken and soon I had a large bruise. I called the office and asked if the campground owners could please stop by my site as I wanted them aware of what happened. 2 hours later still no contact from them. I then went up to the bar and restaurant and located Merle and Laura. I told the what transpired and only had one request which was to please find out if the dog is up to date on vaccines. They said they would. That was 6 pm last night. I left the campground at 10 am this morning and still have not been contacted. Dogs off leash when so many children are around is an issue. If the campers next to me had encountered this dog with their 1 and 3 year olds I do not think it would have been I so minor. Again loved the campground and activities but disappointed that this issue was not followed up on. Worst part is the dogs belong to a long time seasonal camper at the facility so I'm afraid it won't be addressed.

Loved the lookout hill to be able to see the colors highlighted by the sun on a beautiful fall day. Trail was well marked, wide, and well maintained. Watch out for horse droppings as you share the trail. There were quick a few cars in the parking area but we didn't see a ton of people on the trails so nice to be able to spread out. Easy hike for most. Enjoyed the day here.

No thanks to the filthy conditions of the many cabins we had paid for in addition to the main lodge. Hair in showers, toilets overflowing with crap (as in feces, shit, poop...well you get the idea). Had it not been for my awesome sister who arrived early AND DID HER BEST TO POWER CLEAN SAID CABINS AND LODGE, we would have been unable to eat, sleep or even keep our eyes & nasal passages open. The staff was and still is unresponsive to our disdain and will certainly never see us again! It's a shame. A real, real shame because it's situated in a absolutely beautiful part of this fine state, loads of trees & a pristine view of Green Lake. "You sho have a purdy mouth." Ugh...

This campground is 5 stars all around and we will definitely return…read more There are no sewer hook ups so you kind of have to use their restrooms/showers unless you drive to the dump station if you are staying for a week.. thus, the drop in a star (to be mentioned below) The GOOD: Pretty much everything! Lots of shade, big sites, signs everywhere to find your way, TONS of trails, dog friendly, friendly staff.. Bunker beach is walking distance, the activity/event center is gorgeous. There are stables at the regional park as well as the stunning golf course that we did not use. Just absolutely beautiful grounds. Bring a bike or take some long hikes. Maps are well marked and so much to see! Our California campgrounds are not this green and lush or have sites so spacious so we LOVED that! The BAD: Spiders (Daddy long legs) everywhere.. we sprayed eco friendly bug spray each day around the picnic table, tent and trailer and helped a bit.. but after 3 spiders on the window curtain next to my bed in he RV and a big old spider ON my bed.. I had a big more compassion for my boys in the tent with too many of them to count on top of the tent. Bathrooms - need to be cleaned as the sinks were pretty gross on most occasions. The water in the shower? I froze for all 3 showers and there is no way to control the hot/cold, no water pressure (which is kind of common at campgrounds) but not even a spray.. just a slow trickle/stream from the shower except in the family bathroom, a faint spray (also cold). Oddly, my boys showered once in the men's showers and said it was too hot, they had to get out. The showers were also unpleasant with spiders everywhere, moths flying at you from every direction. There were grasshoppers in abundance as well, but the moths were pretty disgusting. The GOOD FAR FAR outweigh the BAD and definitely recommend a stay here. It IS camping so just expect a lot of bugs around and you won't be disappointed!

The location and overall grounds are nice and well kept, but way too much 'bling' (statues,…read moreknick-knacks, etc). Way overdone to the point that it's cluttered. There's an overall mindset amongst seasonals to 'keep up with the Jones' with respect to yard appearance, RV's, trailers, etc. I was a seasonal for three years, and ultimately the last straw was when it was suggested to me that I don't return the next season unless I upgraded my 28 foot travel trailer to something newer, because it didn't fit the look and feel of the place (apparently something older than 7 years wasn't good enough?). Also, management is very good at one thing: watching everyone like a hawk. If you want to always feel like you're every move is being scrutinized, this is the place for you!
