We hit up the candy store first which had a great selection including fudge, delicious pecan turtles & even pickle flavored soda, which we tried and amazingly was good although different. They also had a very nice clean bathroom. We then walked over to the gift store and normally I'm not one to love gift shops but this shop was so well laid out that it was easy to shop and man was it fun. I literally found something for 6 different people in my life...my sister, my mom, a few friends. They have something for everyone! I found myself laughing out loud when reading signs, socks, kitchen towels and more. We spent about an hour here and I could've spent much more time but again, this was just supposed to be a quick stop. I can't wait to come back!

After you leave the store there's no way to prove they charged you twice for the same item because the receipt only shows the length of the item and the price. I wonder if this is Standard Operating Procedure for them because this is the second time this has happened to me. I don't appreciate them stealing money from my wallet. An employee was extremely rude to me for no reason. Apparently, Margie Pearl isn't concerned whether they have any repeat customers. There is rarely any other customers in the store any time I have shopped there. I don't know how they are able to keep their doors open if they treat their all of their customers the way they treated me. From now on I will take my business elsewhere since Margie Pearl is completely unprofessional in dealing with customers.

What they have however are some of the nicest early 19th century period pieces of furniture that I have ever seen. The owner refinishes them himself as needed, and there are no visible nicks, chips or dings that I could see on any of the pieces.
