Excellent shop & owner however they do not do machine embroidery. Great selection of quilting…read morefabric and very knowledgeable.

5 stars for charm, creativity, and kindness...with one gentle note…read more I visited Charmed Needles in Ontario, Oregon as part of both the All Pacific NW Shop Hop and the Treasure Hop Shop Hop--and I have to say, the name fits perfectly! The shop is full of charm, and the staff were truly some of the kindest and most welcoming people I've met on the hop. They went above and beyond to make visitors feel at home, offering thoughtful little gifts like homemade trail mix, filtered water (with real hospitality--bring your bottle or use one of theirs!), and a fun little needle guide that I'll definitely use. The fabric selection was lovely, and the overall vibe of the shop is warm, creative, and community-oriented. You can tell it's a place where people gather and feel cared for. The only downside for me personally--and I say this with kindness and respect--is that I have a severe allergy to cats. While I didn't see any in the shop, it was clear they are part of the environment. The scent was strong enough that I had a noticeable allergic reaction pretty quickly. I totally understand and respect that every shop has its own personality, and pets are part of the charm for many--but I wanted to mention this gently in case other folks with cat allergies are planning a visit. Overall, it's a lovely shop run by lovely people. Just be aware if you're highly sensitive to cats, and maybe come prepared. Otherwise, don't miss it.

I saw a bolt that had just come in and they quickly added it to the inventory so that I could take some home with me (I was out of town) When I need more material they were very helpful on the phone and prompt in shipping. They sent the items beautifully wrapped. I go to Idaho a couple of times a year and I will definitely make them a stop every time. Their customer service rocks!

Either the quilt was not squared up when loaded on longarm or they loaded it up, turned the longarm on and walked away. The quilt top is skewed like "/" in relation to the batting/backing. The quilt top was a good 3-4" off square leaving a huge puddle of excess fabric on one side. The longarm had simply rolled right over and quilted the puddle into place, completely destroying part of a star point pattern of the quilt itself because they were not paying attention. I spent a month unpicking the stitches and now its free from the batting/backing, it lies smooth and flat. I chose an oak leaf quilting pattern, they quilted it with a feather/scroll pattern. I specifically asked for low loft batting, I never use regular batting, it makes quilts too heavy, and I was very, very clear about using low loft. But they used the medium/heavy batting so when I picked the quilt up, it weighed a ton. Not conscientious at all. I was shocked when I picked the quilt up, but never thought the mistakes were as bad as they were. I honestly thought it would be a small repair job that although inconvenient, I would be able to fix it. However, when I got it home and started looking closely at the mistakes, I knew it was a major screw up. Just one of the mistakes, I found a good 3+" of puddled fabric folded over on itself...I became furious. What a sloppy job. Another thing that has frustrated me no end, is after sitting in their shop for 2 months, the quilt is filthy. It smells dirty. Shifting the quilt to work on a new section unleashed clouds of dust that caused me to coughed and hack and sneeze the entire time working to undo their mess. How do I know its the quilt? Because I only coughed and sneezed while I was working on it. I was fine when I was out of my sewing room and the minute I picked the quilt up, I started in again. Clearly this shop takes no pride in their work and does not respect their customers. If you have put money, energy, time and creativity into your creation, do not leave it with these people. I've gone back and forth with going in showing them their mistakes but honestly, if they cared about the quality of their work, they would never have let this quilt go out of their shop in this condition. And they're not the friendliest there anyway. I'll let them have this one, but that was the last money I'll ever spend in their shop. Quilting is an expensive hobby. They lost a good paying customer. It is beyond me as to how they let this quilt walk out of their shop In this shoddy manner with their name on the job.
