HONEST. A+ for Customer Service. REASONABLE PRICE. I am in the military and I was in Cape May for work at the CG base. On the way to Cape May my car began to make some noises. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. It took a bit longer than expected and he even gave me some money back on my bill for my troubles. But now my car is purring like a cat...better than ever. I only wish he was near my home....i would bring him my car for everything. But what I really want to get across is that he was so HONEST. I know literally nothing about cars except how to turn it on. Also, I was out of town and in a jam. It would have a perfect time to take advantage of me and tell me some imaginary piece was broken and would cost $1000 to fix it. Rather, he was exactly the opposite. Very Honest. Thank you Country Garage for saving my vacation! After waiting 3.5 hours for AAA's "help" to show up to replace my dead car battery, only to leave me on the side of the road without doing anything, after telling me they wouldn't replace the battery because it was also fuel pump, and would need a tow to THEIR garage, I called in reinforcements in the way of a family friend recommendation. After waiting for another tow, we dropped my poor car off at this neighborhood garage around 9:30 PM. Imagine my delight when Country Garage called me first thing the next morning (before 8 AM) & told me it WAS just the battery after all and everything else was in great shape. I had my car back and ready to rumble by 12:30 in more than enough time to hit the beach (on the only day it didn't rain). Affordable, reliable, friendly, trustworthy heroes...I mean, mechanics. Well, they are nice people. However, I brought my car in because it stalled out and wouldn't start. It was there for 3 weeks, They fixed the other problems with the car. Wheel bearings and headlights but it's still not running. $600 spent on stuff that was not the reason I brought it there. It's an old car, it needs lots of work but if I ask you to fix a problem. Fix the problem. So I have a car with new wheel bearings that I now have to take some where else to fix and spend more money I don't have. When I called to say it's died within 10 hours of picking it up I got a basic "that sucks". Well, isn't that helpful?!? :( Again they are nice people but I am no where near satisfied with their service. read more

I was in need of a battery during my stay in Cape May. I found this station on yelp and the reviews were great so I gave it a try. I met Allen who was apologetic about not being able to help me with the replacement of my battery but he knew a station that could help! He sent me to Andrew at the Shell station down the road who was able to check my battery and hook me up with a new one, all within 30 minutes! Country Garage, Inc. went above and beyond in servicing my car. I hade my car towed into their garage at approx 10AM. The car required a new alternator that was not in stock. Al ordered the part which was located approx 80 miles away. When it arrived he worked around his other cars to complete the job and get me back on the road the same day. Unbelievable! read more

After arriving in Cape May while towing our camper we broke some brake lines on our truck. After parking our camper at the campground, we asked around for a mechanic. It was suggested we see Allen at the Country Garage. Upon arriving Allen looked at it and told us he would do what he could. He gave us a ride into town so we could have lunch. After a little while he called us, picked us up, and took us back to our now fixed truck. The bill was more than reasonable and he explained everything about the work. Took my car here to have my brake pads replaced because they were squeaking and another mechanic had thought they might need to be replaced. The guys at Country Garage took a look and said that I still had 25 - 50 thousand miles left on the pads. No work needed to be done and there was no charge. On the way to Cape May, a good samaritan pulled me over and said that my tire was wobbling and there was smoke. I changed the my tire to a spare and then went off to Cape May. The next day, I went to Country Garage. Allen lifted the car and checked the bearings, axle, etc. He checked my wheel which was a little bent but OK. He banged it into better shape. My hubcap was bent and he thought that could have been what the people thought was wobbling. He explained had there been smoke, the tire would have some melting. He had stopped what he was doing immediately to help me. He spent a minimum of 30 to 40 minutes , checking everything to make sure I was safe. He put my regular tire back on. He then refuse to take any payment. I think he felt he did not fix anything. I just know , his time was worth money. He is the kindest and very knowledgable mechanic I know.
