I had a VERY positive experience with Clarks. My A/C in my 2004 Honda blew out on the hottest day of the summer a few weeks ago. Because I live in the DC area during the week, I tried to find a decent mechanic down there to deal with it. I got quoted prices from $1400-$2000 from three different mechanics in DC before calling the Boyfriend and asking him what he thought I should do. Naturally, this appealed to his inner caveman and he pronounced that HE would find the place to fix my car. And it would NOT be in DC. It would be in Philly or NJ because in his humble opinion, the only people knowledgeable enough to do a whole range of things (including car repair) only live in those two states. So after calling around, he settled on Clarks because they were professional and willing to even stay later that day to have a look at it so I could get there from DC. We waited to til the next day but I appreciated the gesture. First thing I liked is that it is co-owned by a husband and wife team and after talking to the wife for awhile, I realized she knew just as much about cars as her husband and that no female was getting ripped off in her shop just because she was a girl. Huge positive as a woman and one I am happy to direct other women towards....you're not going to get ripped off here because of your lack of male parts. Second, they showed both ME and BF the entire problem and what it would take to fix it. The mechanic explained everything and showed us the costs right down the some piece of wire that cost less than $3. They quoted me a price half the amount of the lowest one I got in DC. And they had the whole thing fixed and ready to go a day later. And I have ice cold AC again. Excellent service. Very satisfied with Clarks. Would recommend them to anyone in the area for sure.
