No! No! No! Bad Place! I had stayed here 4 times over the last 18 months. It was never good, but tolerable. My last stay was miserable. the rooms were wet and damp and dirty. There was obvious drug use, meth, crack, you name it. And hookers. One hooker came knocking on my door around 1 AM asking if I wanted a date. She was about 5 feet even and 450lbs. I explained that I wasn't man enough. When I complained to the ladies in the office, they knew her by name. They moved me to the 2nd floor and the hooker can't climb stairs. Then informed me that she would be leaving me alone. Not that hooking wasn't allowed. Only in Louisianna. I complained about the mold, i could see it and smell it. The girls upfront (I call then big girl #1 and big girl #2) BG1 is the manager in the evening, BG2 is there during the day. They both put on a front that I was the only person to ever notice any mold. My head was banging so bad after a day that I had to move to another motel for the remainder of the week. Be very careful on the stairs. They are wooden and rotting and shaky. It's like stepping onto a sailboat in a storm. They refused to give me a refund. I told them that I would be leaving a review. They told me that they write their own 5-star reviews. So, when you see 1s & 2's and then 5's, well you can figure that out. I did find out that the Budget Inn was renovated, and the riffraff run off. The cop having breakfast next to me informed me that the troglodytes migrated to the Country Inn. Explains a lot. Is this a five star motel on the national scale? I'm going to dare say probably not. Did I have a five star stay here? You bet! Last time I stayed here was several years ago and it went well but I believe this place has gotten better with time. Everything was clean and the staff was more than polite and accommodating. The building is somewhat dated but it's well kept. Didn't see a bug one which is one of my biggest fears while staying on the road and trying to keep the overhead on the lower end. Well... you get what pay for. Woke up with a bug on me. The hot water runs out, and the breakfast is just mediocre, no sense in advertising it. It's sad to bad mouth this hotel since the customer service desk is very helpful. But the hotel itself is not adequate to be staying in. read more

You get what you pay for here. The Country Inn is a small hotel located in the middle of the poor town of Bastrop, La. It is one of the cheapest hotel around but also one of the cleanest for the price. If you want a cheap room in a crappy town this is a good choice. read more

Disappointment!!! While looking deceptively neat as a pen outside, this hotel is overpriced for what you get. They added new headboard thinking that would fool people, i guess... but the walls, the caulk, the mismatched chairs with cigarette burns in a non smoking room. The room appears to have been done in maybe the early 80's. It might be worth 28 or 30 dollars a night. Its more like a 50 dollar flop house. The owner (whom i know) wouldnt be caught dead spending even an adternoon in such a room, never mind two nites. Dont stay here. You will be mad the whole time!!! read more

This is the worst hotel ever! I have pictures of mold in the corner, dried blood and hair in the beds. I cleaned the bathroom myself before checking the beds and asking for my money back. They refused and owner and managers said how do they know we didn't do it in the few hours we were checked in? They blamed us for the nasty room we received and wondered why we didn't want to see another room. We were grateful a nicer hotel had a cancellation. read more

We recently stayed at the Country Inn on E. Madison Ave in Bastrop, Louisiana on July 3-4 2017 and it was a awful experience. The first thing we did was to check the mattress for any sign of bedbugs and upon doing so we discovered the bed coverings(spread and blanket were dirty. the mattress cover had never been changed and the were blood stains on it. The floor was down right fifty in the sleeping area and the bathroom. the coffee pot was grimey and had not been cleaned. The advertised rates were $38-$48 per night but when we got there the rates had changed to $67-$78 dollars per night which is false advertising. When asked about a discount or a refund, we were told we could get neither one. oh yes, we asked for clean bed linen, which we got but had to changes the bed ourselves. They advertised Free WiFi and HBO of which neither one was available. Could only get one station. The continental breakfast was much less than continental.
