We stored it in our basement wine rack on it's side. We opened it last night (the cork was wet and intact) and were taken aback by how awful it tasted. At first we thought it was just very dry but the second sip was just so bad, we thought it might be rancid. We noticed sediment in the pour. We called the store today to let them know so they could test it out and check their inventory. We had the full bottle to bring in and show them. They told us it was old and that was why. The bottle was dated 2023, we purchased it in late 2024 and opened it in 2026. They refused to even look at it, let alone give us any credit for it. Will not be going there again. Will purchase our wine from The Wine Merchant where they treat customers with respect and kindness. Too bad, as we are within walking distance of the Wine Loft and they are not a friendle, neighborhood place like they want you to believe.

So I told him I was looking for a wine that either was 7 yrs old or had a seven on it. Well he showed me a few some ranging from $30 and up. But I was hoping to stay on the low end but wanted something sweet. So he showed me another wine that had 7 in it's name. The location is nice and appears to have every spirit of choice, wine gifts, gift bags, or other beverages. He seem to have a good knowledge of his wines, when I asked about the mini bottle of wine. He asked if I wanted to sign up for the reward program (which I declined, but later regret). After my check-in, there was an option to use a 10% off coupon, which I will save for later.

I often feel like black owned brands aren't as readily available at many liquor stores, so I was pleasantly surprised to see the prosecco and the rose displayed and for a reasonable price. The staff was very attentive and helpful. I was able to get a spot right out front, but on a busy weekend I can see parking being difficult.

A few years ago, I opened a 98 Beaucastel CDP at a dinner party that had been in my cellar for years. It was stunning. The next day I went to Cranberry and found one remaining 1.5L bottle of it - on sale (this was several years post-release). I saw plenty of other historical items there just today, just waiting for a treasure hunter to snag. Check their web site before you go - www.cranberryliquors.com, there is almost always a 20% off coupon for 750ml bottles (and they have a 10/15% mixed/full case discount also). A few years ago, I'd have given them 6 stars, because there were a string of deeply knowledgable wine geeks staffing the store. I could literally walk in with a menu, and walk out with a dozen brilliant matches they they knew I'd like. And I could special order just about anything. There's been turnover, and the current crew is certainly nice ... but just not operating at the same level of knowledge. I have had a few issues trying to order stuff in.
