The camp sight is small, gorgeous and overlooks the river. Clean and well kept. We felt fortunate to find a spot, last minute, on a Friday in August. The off site camp host (from Lazy Bend) is a lovely man. Very kind and seems to love his job. The issue was: we were robbed at 3 am. We left our cooler on the picnic table, packed all other things away (thank goodness) and our cooler was stolen. Upon discovery, we walked around and asked if anyone else had things stolen and 2 other camp sights (that we spoke with) had coolers with beer stolen. Yeah, so our cooler had our beer and food. All of our food. Several people heard and saw a few cars driving around at 3 am but didn't realize what was going on. I've told several people about this experience and apparently this is common when camping near Estacada. I guess my one-star review is really for the town of Estacada but I don't think Yelp has a review options for an entire town.

I will stay here when rooms are booked at McMenamins and since I have a trailer, why not. I personally like this place. It's clean, it's quiet, and the people are so kind (employees and residents). I love watching the people walking by with their dogs. I feel like it's a doggy parade. I do appreciate that everyone follows the leash rule and keeps their doggies on leash when walking them. It just makes it safe for other dogs. We have stayed on the creek side only but I may venture to the river side next time. One the creek side it is quiet. I know the river side is closer to the I-84 so I am curious how much louder it will be. I guess I may find out this summer. I definitely recommend staying here when you have something going on at Edgefield or honestly, just stay here just because it's a great place.

We reserved campsite #4 in an attempt to get out of the city for a taste of Mother Nature's beauty and fresh air. Although the location is great the site was horrible. We arrived to a big open area for the "tent-only" spots where there were no trees or anything dividing the 3 spots from one another. Spots #5,4,and 3 are less than acceptable. Meanwhile, the entire rest of the campground was descent. So, If you are a tent camper and want a little privacy don't rent any of these 3 spots, but instead get a trailer spot so you can have some privacy where your neighboring campers cant see everything you have and watch you eat dinner and build a fire! We may return for the beautiful view and a cold river swim, but have learned our lesson. $17/night was a total ripoff.

There used to be a community room, it's now the owners "mancave". He has a sticker on the office window that says he accepts credit cards, that's a lie. This guy is stuck in the 80's and only accepts paper checks. The old owner just ran our card for rent, it was super convenient. My neighbor had a tree limb fall on his trailer during a storm, the owner didn't want to contact insurance to properly take care of the issue. Instead he tries to make deals like a used car salesman. (I have a feeling that's going to come back to bite him, karma does that) There used to be professional landscapers to take care of the park, now a teenager does it and doesn't even bag the grass. Not to mention the owner, Chip went to do some weed eating because he's so cheap, the idiot broke my truck window with a rock while doing so. He also threatened to kick me out because I used a blower to clean up his grass mess. The grass was being tracked everywhere! So we did move. Best decision I've made in a long time. The fellow longterm campers now call the park "Hitler's camp". I know a bit dramatic but he does walk around the park 24/7 and pretends to be your friend, then dictates and tries to tell you what to do. The way I see it, he just has a big case of little man syndrome. It's like owning a bar and also drinking in it on a nightly basis. Just something you shouldn't do. People that have been here for a long time are leaving solely because of the new owner. I can't reccomend NOT staying here enough, seriously. Fairview or sandy river rv park would be my recomendation if you need to be on the east side.

Lifties throwing waves, tickets scanned clean, Even when you fumble your pass like you've never skied before in your life been there, seen The lifts spin smooth, no clanks, no fear, Just uphill glory and mountain cheer. Chair swings steady, the ride feels prime, Enough time to breathe, joke, and rethink that double-black one more time. The terrain flows clean long cruisers, steeps that bite, Trees whisper "send it," groomers say "glide." Snow sprays up cold, skis hum and sing, That sound they make when you're doing everything right... or at least telling yourself you are. The vibe is pure ski town, relaxed and real, Goggles on helmets, poles in a pile, steel. Everyone's stoked, nobody's loud, Except that one guy explaining his line like he's filming a ski movie sir, we all fell on that run. By day's end your legs are cooked, your face wind-burned red, You're clomping to the lodge like a newborn deer instead. But you're smiling hard, already convinced, Mount Hood Meadows just skied its way straight onto the "must return" list.

They do have hand sanitizer. It was pretty dark and hard to see anything in the bathrooms even in daylight hours, but maybe that is preferred for this style of bathroom. We stayed on the side away from the lake but it's less than five minutes to walk to the lake and a nice view of mount hood. Lots of trees, so lots of shade. Bring mosquito repellent because this place has lots of bugs

Its getting harder and harder to get a weekend reservation but I think they are putting in more Campgrounds. I know they are in the process of upgrading all the current campsites. I was told that would take place.... years ago, but they're actually doing it now. Timothy Lake is a very popular lake. The water is clean and clear. The fishing is good, depending on where the fish are that day. Even if you get skunked, it's still good to just sit and look at God's creation. So peaceful and beautiful. I catch crayfish when we go. My Wife and I are the only ones who eat them and that's fine with us. We scarf em down. Butter everywhere. Can't wait for next year. I have a new bait option I want to use. The Camp Hosts are always nice. I think they remember our little Smoo Bear and us from previous campouts. The grounds are always clean. There are also PGE Employees patrolling the grounds but also Clackamas County Sheriff's regularly roll through. So trouble gets rooted out. I've never had a problem. On occasion, people get loud. And the Hosts take care of it. I've seen people try and sneak in in the middle of the night and get busted. I always thought that was dumb to even try. You have to drive by the Host Site just to get in. Dumb. You cant bring your own wood! If your caught. They'll make you throw it all out or leave. They sell bundles of wood for $6.00. I figure you'll need $18.00 of wood a day. More if your planning on cooking over a wood fire. Most site's allow up to 6 tents per site. You can have 1 Vehicle per site, any other Vehicle's will be $6.00 a day per Vehicle. They get you from both sides. It seems a bit spendy but after weeks of work. Your sitting next to the fire. Beer in hand, laughing with family. You realize how happy you are to be camping and you thank God for your life. My Sister is our Reservation Queen. She's already planning on being ready to reserve our next trip when that date arrives. God Bless you Red. I am ready to put in vacation days. Cant wait for our next campout.

My niece and I were transported from the airport to Timberline Lodge during a severe spring snow…read morestorm. My niece's arrival was delayed and the driver, Chuck, waited for her well beyond the time he had scheduled for our departure to Timberline. After dropping us off, he had to return from Timberline to the airport to pick up other customers and take them most of the way back to Mt. Hood. He was extremely patient and calm. He actually was reassuring me not to worry, he would be able to manage both trips. Well, he certainly did in the face of very difficult circumstances. He encountered an accident on the way up and another one on the way down, both of which delayed him. He also faced whiteout conditions on Mt. Hood. He handled all of this calmly and expertly. I would recommend this company, and most especially this driver, for one's transportation needs. They do an exceptional job in both transportation and customer service.
