The basics in your grocery needs can be counted on for them to have unless some unusual situation is going on. The variety on selection is okay. I mean it kind of is the situation you deal with when shopping in a rural community. The produce is pretty fresh as well as the meat department. The liquor store is decent as well. Plenty of variety on hard alcohol or ingredients for mixed drinks. They have a craft beer selection and while one would expect it to be small they do have some Wyoming based breweries which is nice to get a hold of for a four pack or six pack. As one would expect don't expect a huge variety on ethnic foods like Asian condiments or things like that. Again the basics are covered but nothing to specific. Despite what may sound like a review with criticism it's more a preparation of what to expect or not expect. This grocery store is truly vital to the Platte Valley without getting yourself into a lengthy drive to go to another town outside the valley. This is the area where I grew up and while changes have happened to this building and ownership changed over the decades it's still kind of a magnet to run into old acquaintances.

Some highlights included: -a grocery store which also sells guns -snow drifts and 20 degree weather with insane wind making it much colder -the only supermarket in town which actually has a lot of vegan items And the highlight: The dollar store, apart from being the most bangin' place in town outside of the bar and drive-up liquor store, had it's own personal greeter: a massive white guy in a pickup truck blasting some charming music, which contained multiple racial epithets (Johnny Rebel's "N***** Hatin' Me," I'll just leave you to look up those lyrics if you are interested, but I wouldn't recommend it). No ironic racism here! Awesome! Can't wait to go back, Rawlins, WY!

The guy on the other hand wanted to rush me out after he said I could get a bag ful. A bag ful for 4 people isn't much so I wanted to be selective about what I got so I was taking my time looking and he acted as if I was taking too much so I opened my bag and said is this to much he said no mam have a nice day. I'm greatful for what I get but sometimes having to go to food pantry especially one where your treated like that when your already in a tough situation isn't the best feeling. Just be aware of how you might be treated. I would post a picture of my 6 cans, potatoes that are nearly bad and a bag of cookies if I could but I'm not getting that option. I guess you need to know what you want before going so you can get it and get out. This is what I got when he showed me out of his store acting like I was being greedy when I was simply being selective because he said one bagful and I have a family of four to feed. I went to SunnyCup on my last trip back to my hometown of Saratoga. I got kind of a fruited tea with the boba bombs... which is the type of boba that bursts with flavor when they pop in your mouth. Although I prefer the tapioca boba balls the bursting ones are fun to get from time to time. I was contemplating getting a coffee drink instead of this tea drink as this was when the weather here was definitely and easily defined to be chilly but alas their espresso machine was broken so that plan did not materialize. So perhaps another time. I also got a pastry or baked good item here as it is often the routine for me to get a snack along with my drink when frequenting coffee shops and I got a donut which was very enjoyable. The atmosphere of this place is absolutely adorable with it's bright, inviting colors and cozy seating this is definitely a place I give high marks on for cuteness. Definitely a refreshing take to small town coffee shops and a nice fit into the Saratoga restaurant community.
