God I had such an amazing time riding at Country Time. Trace was our guide and we took it easy through a trail and then along a road for a short distance. It was an easy ride and the horses were so well behaved. You could tell they were really well taken care of. This is a great activity for families, dates, or just by yourself (what I did). The staff is lovely and friendly. I can't wait to go back. I'll probably do an individual ride next time and see if we can do some running. Insider tip, bring apples for the horses! Had an amazing experience with my friends one Saturday-- we set up a trail ride with the staff and had varying experiences with horses. I've never rode one, but my friends had. When we arrived, there were signs pointing us to a gravel lot. There was a big birthday party going on (adults) and everyone was having a great time taking pictures with the horses. We were led by a staff member on a trail ride, and they placed the horses in a certain lineup and told us all about their personalities and who gets along with who. It was hilarious fr. It's a rustic family-friendly equestrian ranch where the friendly staff definitely create a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It's $40 per person for an hour of horseback riding which isn't bad! You'll get to go on a guided group tour and walk through the trails and fields on the outskirts of the ranch. Ours was lead by Cowboy Tracey ("Cowboy Trace") and he's a super cool guy that's seems really passionate about what he does. The horses are beautiful and they have descriptions of them online where you can read about their background before you get to ride them. They also have a refreshment shed with complimentary ice cream and snacks for you to enjoy after your tour. I had a great first time experience here and would reccommend to friends. So it's Quarantine time so my hubby looked high and low for something special for my birthday weekend, and he nailed it at Country Time Equestrian! We pulled up and I had no idea where we going but when I saw the sign I immediately got excited! We got out the car went to the shed office last a couple of horses and turned in our consent forms. We waited a couple of minutes for the house to get back from the previous trail and talked with a guy (forgive me I can t recall his name) but he was SuPER nice & ended being our trail guide. We went on a hour long trail ride with this older gentleman who was a great conversationalist! I rode Willie and my hubby was on Billie and Willie was a little grumpy at time but he still gave heed to my direction with a pull here or there, as needed! Came here with the clan (from Miami) and we absolutely loved it. We rode through a wooded area that was muddy, wet and somewhat tricky but interesting nonetheless. What a delightful, refreshing afternoon with Trace, my horse, "Willie" and equestrian/nature lovers away from the frantic political chaos of our modern world. Horses-easy and manageable, good for any rider. (This experience was less expensive and more effective than any "therapy"). Okay, I have been wanting to do horse riding for so long and I wanted to do it on my birthday. So I took my sis and bro along because they wanted to do it too. Well let's talk about the place first, this place is so vintage and cute farm house I love how it looks. They have lot of horses (freaking cute) xoxo also some chickens as well. They offer free complimentary refreshments after the rides which is bonus point. They have cute stuff there I was in love haha it literally gave me a festive vibes. I did ride of party of 3 people including me and our instructor Jennies she was so nice and friendly, she made sure we are safe and comfortable even though my sis was having anxiety czo of the heights I mean even I was too smh. But instructor made us clam and comfy she's the best to ride with btwn it was our first time experience. We supposed to do 45 mins ride but we did about 15 mins czo of my sis but was fun and worth it. Let me just say the whole team at Country Time Equestrian were amazing! From the time we walked up on the grounds we were greeted with smiles and excitement. We had a group of 7. Before I forget the website does nothing for the horses. They are absolutely beautiful! I had no idea what I was getting myself into going horseback riding with this group (lol) no one had ever been on a horse before let's not talk about the fear of this large animal and me having to ride it. Jerry was our guide and several others assisted with getting us the right horse. Now they don't let you choose the horse, they pick your horse based on riding experience and personality. For me this was a win win. I have no experience, I'm old and I have a playful personality. I was placed with Gypsy. She was perfect for me! 17 years old, she's a mom to Maverick (another one of the horses) and she's used mostly for kids. Yes, I'd hit the jackpot!!! Gypsy was easy going, mild mannered and did what she was instructed to do with no problem. The ride went off with out a hitch. We rode for about 45 minutes through the trails. Peaceful, tranquil, beautiful day at the stables. For us to be first time riders, you would've thought we were professionals and that's because of the GREAT staff, the patience, and training they've all had. If your thinking of going I recommend you do. You'll love it and will want to go back several times after. read more

Just got home after taking our 8 year old granddaughter here for an arena ride. I cannot say enough good things about the experience. Janice was wonderful, teaching her how to control the horse with the reins. Thus our granddaughter could stop the horse and get her to turn right and left. Gypsy was very sweet and compliant, making her a perfect horse for a child. Janice even took them out of the ring giving our granddaughter some experience on a trail setting. Pretty dissapointed at how I was treated here. Yes, it's beautiful and you won't find anything like Latta plantation as far as the scenery and the property goes. However I wasn't treated well and I won't go back. I wanted to go horseback riding - and to actually ride as in trot, and canter. I was told the only way to do this is to pay for a private trip. When I get there they said I could only walk the horse bc of the heat. Which I get completely but I should have been notified before hand that this was possible. I asked for only a 30 minute walk since I was already on the horse once I found out. After getting back and complaining they didn't try to make it right it any way. They also barely adjusted by stirrups which were wrong the whole time. Just awful customer service. read more

Great ride! Had a lovely time with Comanche. Not one issue. He only tried to graze once, while we were waiting to cross the road (but was denied), and not one time after. Heardu rumor that he liked to kick, but he was the perfect gentleman. It was a private ride, and it was lovely. Too hot to do anything more than a jog, but I'm not one to run a horse on a hot day, and nor is this stable. Which is wise. Saw a review where someone felt like they were in danger (because Comanche was kicking). I would venture a guess that they are simply not horse-minded folks and therefore had no compunction to "take control" of the animal. When a trail guide says to take up slack and pull back on the reins, you really should. Horse knows when it's got free-rein. (That's why that's an expression.) You can be a first-time rider and if you LISTEN to your guide and DO WHAT THEY SAY, almost any trail horse will be easy-peasy. They're trained. To walk on a trail. With you...on their back. Ann was also a great trail guide. Very friendly, but also let me take in the beauty of our gorgeous surroundings as well. Stable is clean and folks are friendly. Horses look healthy and happy. We had the best experience at Country Time Equestrian on this trail ride. We were a party of three and it was my daughters and I first first time ever being on a horse and riding although I had wanted to. I had Macy, she had Blackjack and my partner had Cooper. All three horses were calm, obedient and sweet! I was a little intimidated at first by Macy because she was so large but she was definitely a gentle giant. Our trail guide was Tracey and boy was he extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. He pretty much gave you lessons while on the horse riding. He made us feel at ease and secure. You can tell that he loves what he does. This is something we now plan on doing more of and will be contacting them for riding lessons for my daughter. The rest of the staff was super friendly as well. They have free snacks after your ride and my daughter picked up an ice cream bar. Thank you for the great experience. We will return. read more

I had my daughters birthday party here today! We had a blast! We had the best hostess ever, Ann. She was so accommodating to our group! We had a lot of little ones that were afraid to ride the ponies so she revised our schedule so that the kids would have a great time without having to physically ride the ponies! We fed the horses treats! My daughter loved seeing the horses and ponies and riding on the 'cow ride', even I as a parent really enjoyed the cow ride! I would definitely highly recommend having a birthday party or any other event here. You have your own covered gazebo, they have grills, and your party is completely separate from other parties! The staff was so nice and friendly. Nancy, the event coordination helped a lot with advice and previous experiences when planning our party! Took my daughter for a trail ride to celebrate the end of a fabulous school year. Perfect mother-daughter experience.

Well, I'm no cowgirl but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy a good trail ride with an even tempered steed. Now, riding a stubborn steed by a waterfall in Mexico turns what would be a lovely experience into a fright fest but that's another story. Today, David X and I took the guided riding tour of Latta Plantation Park. For $25, this entails a trail leader riding in front, and a party of 8 riders following along in a line. They ask you how green you are, assign you a horse based on that, and give you the needed pointers: go, slow down, stop, turn. Feet here, knees here, hands here, and you're off. The trail guide knew the story of each horse so if you're curious you can ask. Mine was actually a rescue story: Billy Jack was an overworked racehorse with a broken knee and scarred up legs and hide, they brought him in and rehabbed him and now he rides easy trails in his golden years. The ride is about 45 minutes or so, and they make a point to rotate horses in and out so that no horse is worked all day. Now they offer a longer "private ride" for $35 which I assume means you are not in a party of 8, and they also offer the "sunset ride" on certain days, which includes a two-hour ride just past sunset and a "cowboy dinner" (either chicken or steak is what the listing said) for $60. That's a bit steep for my tastes but I could see it being a real nice date for the right kind of couple. They also mentioned having pony rides for tykes, formal riding lessons, hay rides during October, and some other more advanced stuff for people who are into BYOH. I could surely see myself bringing family/visitors here. read more

We recently redeemed 5 gift certificates for a trail ride and dinner. The entire family really enjoyed it. The location was very convenient yet it felt like you were far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Traci was our guide and he had some great stories for us and kept us entertained the entire ride. Macy- Gypsy - Blackjack - Billy Jack and Cooper were our horses and all were great. We had the place to ourselves and it was awesome. Dinner was great as well. The chicken was really good and they took care of everything. Very sad!!!! I gave them 3 stars because I took my grandson 2 years old there for his first horse ride and it was a great experience, however I went to take him back today. I called before I went since it was late on a Sunday to make sure they would be open. They said yes last ride at 5 so I picked my parents and drove there so they could watch him ride a pony. It was 440 when we got there no one was at office but sign says open tell 530 !!! Come.to barn if no one at office and so we did only to be told we couldn't ride. It was 445, I called before I went and you turned us away when you clearly saw we had a two year old and two sets of grandparents there to watch him ride. Very very disappointed :( read more

My friends and I visited Charlotte, NC for the weekend. We planned a horseback riding event at Latta Equestrian Center. Out of the 6 of my friends only 1 of us have ever ridden a horse. We were nervous about riding the horse once the horses were brought up. This was definitely different, fun, and exciting. We had a great time on our horseback hour trail. Mr. Trace was our tour guide, we really enjoyed him. He was really friendly and made everyone feel comfortable with their horses. My horse was, Horse Benny. I would recommend visiting Latta Equestrian Center too anyone that would love to experience riding a horse. read more
