One star for that. Ok that's all there is of that. Roads leading up to the so called campground have very low clearance because of branches that need trimming. We have a 35 ft Montana pulling a 10 ft enclosed trailer (65 ft total) & we were concerned we might tear something off the top. We made it. Workers were arguing in front of us at check in. The single lane road in this campground is very narrow with tight turns. The actual campsite was at the very end. In order to be straight in the spot we had to pull over the quite deep fire pit. We carry thick boards in case this happens. The camp host watched & didn't say a word because, of course, what could he say. We told them our length when we called ahead. We got past the fire pit but broke our boards. This place is not a campground. It's a trailer park & a lot of the units are actually falling apart. We would have read reviews but there was nowhere else to stay and no reception & we were here to see family so we had no choice. If you have a choice & are able to travel further...keep on going!!! Don't stay here!! There were only two camp sights in the entire place where folks weren't living. Pulling out we went the way the camp host showed us, but it was still all tight turns. Water pipes must be ancient here because our filter was filled with rust from just two days. Don't drink the water. There are port a potties throughout but the ones we checked out were beyond filthy. I think if you go into the pool you might be taking you life into your own hands. Unless you absolutely have to stop, DON'T! Keep those wheels a rolling. There are no photos because I didn't want to embarrass any home owners. We'll, now it's up to you.

Our son is very sick and is getting treatment nearby in Elgin. Not only did this camp stay open for us when they were closing down today; they provided so much support during our time here. I cannot express my appreciation for Elaine, Hunter & Bill. You truly made such a stressful time better. There are 5 sites. You have sewer & electricity. You can fill water if asking front desk. Ask the front desk for anything......they will help. We were given our first bundle of firewood for free. We were given several supplies to borrow (snow shovel, hose, bucket, puzzles & games). They have showers and bathrooms year round. I have learned that you don't find that here during this time. Im so thankful for the staff having such a big heart. Thank you thank you thank you! We will be back to visit during a warmer time!

I've been camping here every late September, for a few years, and it's truly a gem of the Wisconsin system. Pinewoods has 101 campsites, flush toilets, vault toilets and showers. There are no electrical sites at this campground. A playground is next to the shower building. And news to me- This campground offers a designated area for those who want to enjoy the peace and quiet that nature has to offer. Loop 1 is a 24-hour quiet zone, meaning no pets, radios or mechanical device noises are allowed, ensuring a peaceful visit. The facilities are clean, there are a few large group sites, and a few hike-in sites. While my small crew prefers the hike-in sites, honestly the regular sites have ample privacy, nestled between the tall pines of this area. There is great hiking nearby, whether it's the Scuppernong trails or the Ice Age Trail, horse riding, Ottawa Lake, and some of the best mountain biking in the State (Emma Carlin and John Muir Trails). Not far from Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago, Pinewoods Campground is a great getaway!
