My wife and I stayed in the standard luxury room (vs. a suite or room w/fireplace) and it was big. We got a bottle of wine and rose petals on the bed along with free Coke and Sprite. Close access to Williams Bay. Only reason it isn't a "5" is that we stayed on the weekend - and all the parking spaces were taken up because the parking lot is shared with the Belfry Theatre - and a concert was going on.

It began on the morning of our second day. At 8:00 a.m. it sounded as though someone was sliding furniture across the floor, followed by LOUD banging of doors and stomping up and down stairs. We were in room 101, which is right off the exit toward the room. The opening and slamming of the door was completely obnoxious! The "restaurant" on the property had a menu date of early March, which means it had not been open since. I chose this location because it prides itself on the quiet serenity of an "adults only" boutique hotel. This was NOT the case. The staff had zero respect even after I texted the front desk staff about the issue. They offered us a late check-out, one free night for future use, or a gift card for the restaurant (that was not open). I declined and stated that I will leave my review accordingly and would not be visiting the location again.

Really great hotel for the price. Employees are friendly and respectful. The room I stayed in (1…read morebedroom with king size bed and hot tub) was clean and well kept. I had a gout attack while I was staying here and forgot my med for it. There is a Walgreens and Dollar Tree close by but the pain on my foot was so bad that I couldn't even drive there or even walk through the store. The hotel has a convenience store but didn't have any Tylenol or Advil. I decided to ask the gentleman behind the front desk if there was any Advil in the back. He checked and came back with sample pack of Advil (2 pills) which is what I needed. The gentleman didn't even charge me. He could see I was in pain with my limping and I'm glad he could help out. Again, great hotel, great Employees and all around a great experience.

We called the day before our arrival requesting early check-in as we were coming from out of town for a wedding. We were told to arrive at 2 o'clock so we did and the front Desk person said sorry that was wrong and our room wouldn't be ready until 4 o'clock. The wedding was at 3:00. We got dressed in a gross tiny hot public bathroom and then waited in the waiting room for a little bit before leaving for the wedding ceremony. Three or four other groups of people came in after us. They said they were also told to arrive by 2 o'clock by a gentleman when they called the day before. Some also had to get dressed in the public bathrooms. All of a sudden, a woman that was told they had to wait to check in at 4 o'clock went up again to the front desk and the front desk receptionist told her her room was ready. She arrived 30 minutes after we did. She at least let us check in and get our key so when we came back later after the reception, could just go up to our room. The room was clean. But breakfast was disgusting! Watery eggs, some sketchy looking biscuits and gravy and waffles. Waffles were the only thing somewhat edible. The rule cost $239 for one night. We found out later, we could've stayed at the beautiful Lake Lawn resort where the wedding was and had a beautiful room with much more amenities and on the lake for about the same price. Not being allowed to check in early due to housekeeping, having to clean rooms is expected however, the person could've been a lot nicer about it and gave the exact same type of room to another person that arrived 30 minutes after we did requesting early check-in. And do better with your breakfast if you're going to charge that much for a basic hotel.

We enjoyed it there was a balcony outside but that balcony rail is absolutely loose it seems like a liability waiting to happen. There's plenty of tourists here and a lot of people will act like they forgot how to park or they expect top notch privilege which will make going up to the front desk a giant pain upon arrive . If you see a parking spot near the front just take it and walk in and check in . Some of the amenities are pretty cool but I do feel like this place was a bit overrated for the time being. This place felt very outdated as well but this place can be pretty much dead at certain times of the year. The breakfast here is solid but it is absolutely expensive if you go for the Continental package. They charged me $54 and it wasn't even all that good it's probably worth $30 at best. If I knew it was going to be that expensive and underwhelming I would have walked to the gas station and probably paid $10. I will say that there are Lobby shines bright and so does their bar. Whenever there's a party going on usually there's a lot of life going on over here. If you're going to go anywhere and not drive , I recommend taking an Uber and not a Lyft because the price difference is huge. For an expensive stay, I will lean that this place was a 2.75 star experience. So I will leave it at three stars.

I had an outstanding experience at The Abbey thanks to Illeyana--also known (and now forever…read moreremembered) as Ms. Goldfish. From the moment we walked in, her energy, attentiveness, and genuine friendliness set the tone for the entire visit. She was on top of everything--quick service, great recommendations, and always checking in without being overbearing. It's rare to find someone who makes you feel both taken care of and completely relaxed at the same time, but Illeyana nailed it. The nickname "Ms. Goldfish" fits perfectly--she kept things fun, memorable, and just a little bit legendary. If you're heading to The Abbey, do yourself a favor and ask for her. Customer service like that is hard to come by. We'll definitely be back!
