Very nice selection of high end products, however. When I walked in the for the first time there were two other customers in the store. There were also two employees. Neither one of them looked at me, even though they were within feet of me. No greeting what so ever. At one point I was the only customer and still not a word to welcome me to the store or asked if needed assistance. One and done for me. I found Country Woolens in Westport Mass while surfing online... nice website. I was looking for a clothing store that carry's brand named outerwear like Ibex, Northface and Uugs etc. They had all that and much more, in fact they were packed with brand name clothing. I didn't tell the rep this but the two items I selected I checked the pricing with Amazon. I found one item was priced 5 dollars more than Amazon, and the other was 8 dollars less!! To be honest even if they were a few bucks more I would have purchased them, because of the way I was treated, and I could see and touch the product. Great all around store. High end brands like North Face, Patagonia, Carhartt and others carry prices you'd expect for those brands but there is also a bargain basement with some great values. But the thing you might miss is the kids section. This is one of the most thoughtful selections of baby and kids (think less than 8yr) clothing, toys, games and puzzles we've seen and there are no shortage of comparisons in the Boston area. I bet a lot of people go to Perry's and miss this, but that would be a big mistake. read more

They have SmartWool, they have Merril, they have all sorts of wool sweaters, fleece vests, mittens, long underwear, hats, blankets, and boots. I love this place! The ladies who work here are very helpful. Their prices are competitive - pricey products anywhere - but they are the types of rugged, timeless items that last forever. I visited on Saturday and they lovingly wrapped all of my purchases. This place is great during the summer too - boogie boards, swim suits, towels, shorts, etc. read more

Country Woolens is my go-to place for so many things! They have a great selection of Carhartt, Southern Tide, North Face etc. which are perfect for gifts for my fiancé and family. I also love their selection of newborn and toddler clothes and items and always come here to pick out cute outfits for my friends' little ones. We visit Westport annually and always stop at Country Woolens because of their excellent selection and quality clothes. That being said, we had a disappointing experience on our most recent visit, with poor customer service. We were particularly bothered that the sales folks spent the whole time chatting with friends behind the counter and would not let us use a restroom. They are charging full retail prices, the two of us together spent over $400, and still we were told we had to walk down the block to Lees grocery store to use a restroom. They did not help find sizes or anything else, and only finally offered to help when we were walking out the door, after being in the store for about 45 minutes on a very slow day. Customer service is top rate. We needed to exchange 3 men's shirts received as a gift from East Coast relatives. Wrong size. We're in California. Using their website email contact function I asked if an exchange was possible. The response was within 24 hours and they made the exchange process smooth and swift. I was very impressed with the customer service and the clothing lines are fabulous. We want to stop and shop next time we are visiting our relatives. read more
