A few weeks ago my young children had their first appointment to get their hair cut by her. They stopped by my office a few blocks away on the way to their appointment. I didn't know, but my nanny had gotten the appointment time wrong. Kelly texted me that my family never showed up. I was with clients and didn't see her text until over an hour later. There was no subsequent text or call to say that they had arrived. About the only explanation that fit those facts were that my children and nanny had been abducted. I was still with clients, but called Kelly in a panic. She didn't answer, so I left a voicemail telling her to call me. I then spoke with another stylist at the salon, Kaley, who informed me that Kelly had left and she had cut my kids' hair. When I asked Kaley why nobody thought to call me about this she rudely replied that that wasn't her problem. Later that evening I got a text from Kelly saying she was glad that everything worked out. I replied that I certainly didn't consider this "working out" and asked that Kelly call me at her convenience to discuss what had happened. It was important to me that she know it isn't okay to use text messaging to tell a parent that their children are missing! Something that important requires a phone call. She refused to call me, just replying with text after text saying that my kids missed their appointment and there was nothing else to discuss. After five text exchanges of me saying it was important to me that we speak and her saying there was nothing to discuss, Kelly left me a voicemail telling me to stop harassing her and to never contact her again. So I'm writing this now, a few weeks later, as I use Yelp to find a new stylist. I give Kelly Austin five stars as a stylist, one star as a shamefully poor communicator, and averaged the two to give her three stars. I'd rate Kaley with the same three stars, an average of three for communication and three for the quality of the haircut she gave my kids.

When I called to make my appointment, I explained that I had long hair. I wanted a partial weave and cut. I asked her (the owner) how much it was going to cost. She quoted an amount $120-$160.00 depending on how much "work" she has to do and said "That's REALLY CHEAP!" Well, I have been doing color for well over 40 years and I know the going rate and that is NOT cheap at all!!! First off.....she took it upon herself to attempt to do a FULL weave (I didn't want that!), I asked her WHY she was messing with the under part of my hair. She made up some BS reason. When she washed it out, it was ORANGE!!!! I pointed it out to her and she wanted to argue and make excuses saying the lighting was bad in there and that my hair was still wet, and after a "Couple of washing it would fade." WHAT? FADE? *rolling eyes* She dried it and still argued that it was fine!!! Still seeing ORANGE!!! We go outside in the sun and still ORANGE! She makes some rude remarks and then adds more product on my hair to maybe make it better!!! I think NOT.....still ORANGE but not as bad. Again, I point out that it's still ORANGE and again she made stupid excuses about the lighting and it being wet then she started making rude remarks about how "SHE" is the BEAUTICIAN and knows what she is doing. EXCUSE ME? I'm the customer and am paying for a service and am NOT getting what I am paying for. NOT HAPPY!!!! Then came the haircut/style. What a JOKE!!! She cut a VERY SMALL amount and called it a day!!! I walked out of there with the cut/style the same as when I walked in there. She was blow drying it and I realized that I hadn't seen her really cut it, so I asked about the cut, and she said she had already cut it. REALLY?!? I showed a picture of what I wanted and she didn't even come half way close!!! I wanted bangs and the side feathered.......I walked out of there with no bangs and no style plus a ORANGE tint......not a pretty blonde weave that I wanted. PLUS.....she charged me all most $200.00 instead of what she quoted me. NOPE.....DON'T GO THERE! Now......I have really ugly hair and have to spend even MORE money to fix her mess......money that I don't have. Never have I had a stylist talk to me the way she did. I'm not one to write reviews usually.....but this was one that I felt the need to warn everyone out there to NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! VERY unset and now stuck at home for over a week until I can get her F*** up fixed. From the only review on here it appears to me she is the type that isn't very good at dealing with the public. I suggest she find a different line of work!!!

Victoria is also a super talented hairstylist that appeared on Tabithas Salon Takeover, on the Bravo TV network. She always stays updated with the latest styles and color lines!
