He used phrases like "on the high side" and I can't imagine it being more than that," and made us feel assured that our budgeting was appropriate. Given that, we agreed to a deposit of $250 for him to go ahead with a formal quote, per company policy. When the proposal came back, it was $45K, which is more than double what we had discussed. While I understand that quality work and materials are costly, I don't understand how his verbal estimates were so grossly inaccurate, especially when he said he's been working there for 18 years. While I understand the deposit was intended to cover his time in gathering the estimates, and that he "doesn't work for free," a large part of his job is properly estimating potential costs for potential clients, and he did not do that. We agreed to the $250 deposit based on incredibly inaccurate numbers, and when I requested our deposit back, we were denied (twice.) While I don't think it was his intention to be deceptive, we felt swindled out of $250. I was very disappointed that they weren't willing to refund us.

That was 3+ weeks ago and nada. Guess my job wasn't worth enough money to his company. Oh well--found someone else who didn't mind my laminate budget and made it work for a quality countertop. They were both so very nice and respectful, and went above and beyond what they were hired to do (a dresser was moved, only to reveal a big hole in the wall behind it. They located material to cover the hole, and installed it before they left). They did arrive in a hearse LLOL but that's just those guys - they are awesome!! :) My initial interaction with CertaPro was with Matt Gardner. Took him about 5 minutes to get the info he needed for the quote, and then we had a nice chat while he was working it up - hired them on the spot!! If you want quality, efficient and affordable painting done, I would recommend these folks 100%!!

We had had a nightmare experience with Certa Pros. They took over 3 hours longer than then said…read morethey would. They got paint on every fixture and baseboard. They didn't tape anything off. We bought brand new fixtures and they painted right on them! They patched every single hole even though we were told if we left the nail or hook in the wall they wouldn't. They took down where our vacuum was hooked up and patched it. The patched where we needed to connect a range hood back up. They left a light fixture totally hanging off the ceiling. Then we come out of the basement where we were all day long bc this upends the whole house (to be expected but you don't add 3 hours on- you come back the next day- they were rushing!!) three hours late and THEY PAINTED EVERY SINGLE WALL THE WRONG COLORS. not kidding. The accent wall was painted on the regular walls, hallways and main color was on the accent wall. So they had to come out and redo it all again. (Another day of total hassle) We contacted the managers involved and no one ever reply except the "project manager " who would reply when he felt like it no urgency even though they made a colossal mistake! We had to ask at least 5 times to get the remaining paint so we could use it for touch ups. Then they come back to paint our exterior doors (we would not have done this, but we had already signed the contract) and they get paint on the handles (no taping off the handles at all!) , it's a totally splotchy paint job and they had to come back and redo it AGAIN. It's still not great- still paint on handles and no one speaks English so no one to hold accountable except the terrible project manager. We are NOT the type of people to complain and this is my first ever review but it was the worst experience and worst company we've dealt with. Do NOT use them! If I could give no stars I would.

Yes, I stopped the first deposit as he stopped calling me immediately after I sent it. In the end he still got the initial deposit and also cashed a replacement check I sent. GO to www.wicourts.gov do a search for CASE SEARCH and then CIRCUIT COURT select I AGREE and type in BUBBAS or JAKE STEPHENSON or JACOB STEPHENSON (you need to put in no more search criteria) and between all three searches you will find TWENTY COMPLAINTS filed.

We had significant wind damage to the wooden fence bordering our backyard. We tried several…read moredifferent contractors who agreed to do the job and never showed up. We called Fencing Green Bay and the phone was answered almost immediately by Jake the owner. Within a day he was in our backyard replacing posts that had been snapped by the wind. He and his to helpers worked until two hours after dark to make sure the yard was secure for our two dogs. He returned the next morning to complete the job to better than new condition. All this on Saturday/Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend! Thank you Jake and Fencing Green Bay/Bubba's Residential Services! Bravo!
