Countryside is incredibly accommodating, clean, safe and quiet. They allowed my 90 lb dog to live with me while I was transitioning into the area. When I discovered a blown electrical socket, they fixed it within hours. When the toilet clogged and I couldn't fix it, they sent someone up within minutes. Management is incredibly responsive and kind! They work with you when you have to extend or shorten your stay - no questions asked, no issues (give them 30 days like the contract says and they're more than happy to work with you!). I really can't say enough good things about this place! Sure, it's not the most up-to-date and modern establishment, but you won't find a better place (for a better price) that's furnished, allows pets, and one that is will to accommodate varying lengths of stay. I feel truly thankful that I found this place when I transitioned to Madison! read more

We were in Madison to visit my son who lives here. My family & I stayed at Countryside for two weeks, and in 2019 we stayed here for a week. We had two young children with us. It was a perfect fit for us. A totally adequate kitchen, and we made nearly all of our own meals. There was a large dining room that accommodated our family---one night we hosted 6 of us for dinner. My granddaughters enjoyed the pool, green area, and playground. Both bedrooms were comfortable and we had plenty of closet space. I would have given it a five star rating if it had an elevator & central air---but not a big deal. The weekly cleaning could have been better, but we cleaned up our own space daily. I can not understand how anyone would give this place anything but the lowest rating. The photos they posted were dated.  The place looks like it needs a total update.  The interior smelled musty and the sounds and cooking smells permeated the hallways.  The AC units looked inadequate.  I was very disappointed when I arrived in town this weekend.  I'm not happy giving up $200 Deposit for a property that I think was misrepresented.  However, I'm just glad I have some time to find a place more suitable for my month's stay in Madison. read more

If you want peace and quiet, do not come here. The walls and floors are paper thin. You can hear every movement that any person makes in the whole building! From kids to dogs, you will hear it all! The decor is extremely outdated. Countryside is definitely a good description of the wall and ceiling furnishings. Although the apartment had new carpet, there was still an old musty scent. You will also smell everything your neighbors are cooking. As for the kitchen, bring your own knives! You pretty much have to saw into veggies to cut through them. No lids to fit the larger pots and pans. When I first moved in, the shower head sprayed the ceiling! I reported it and they had it fixed within a couple days. The chairs and bedding are old and worn, as well as the towels, some crusty and stained. They have maid service that comes once a week and they will leave your apartment unlocked and unattended, so don't leave valuables. The gym is ok if you're used to working out at a home gym. The treadmills are awful, one makes a loud clicking sound and the other bounces when you're running. They also have laundry facilities, you'll pay $3.50 to finish one small/medium size load. I'd compare this place to a Motel 6 or Knights Inn. Also the cost is $1895/ month until December and then drops to $1695 for a two bedroom in the winter. read more

I consider myself so lucky to have found these guys! My daughter goes to UW Madison and had a two week gap between last year's apartment lease and this year's apartment lease. I was considering putting all her stuff in storage and getting her a hotel for two weeks when I came across Countryside. From the minute I called, everyone was super helpful and professional. It was the perfect situation for my daughter where I could get her a safe temporary place to live, bring all her stuff to keep in the apartment with her, and she didn't need to worry about furniture or anything. Their rates were reasonable, the grounds and amenities were beautiful, and as a father I felt very safe letting her live there by herself. Peaceful and in a beautifully quaint neighborhood. About a mile from Cannonball bike/walk trail which connects to other great trails like Capitol n Military Ridge and other hubs. Location is very central to all parts of Madison and surrounding suburbs. Comfortably furnished with all kitchen appliances- patio with deck was exceptionally nice. These apartments are tucked away off the main highway in a convenient location. The grounds are very nice with a walking trail that is helpful when talking the dog. Connie and Brian, the office staff, are amazing to work with and very accommodating. The apartment is very clean and had everything you would need for a home away from home. They even had a blender. The employees are cleaning the common areas regularly, even the locks on your door. The grounds and common area are kept clean. There are 4 washers and dryers in the lower level of each building. There was never an issue getting my wash done. The machine and room is kept clean as well. If I make it this way again, I would stay here again. read more

We stayed for 2 weeks while our home was being built. 2 adults and 2 young kids. I felt safe and the place was clean and stocked with the kitchen and bathroom essentials we needed. Even though some of the amenities were closed/not offered due to co-vid 19, my family enjoyed walking around the beautiful trails around the building every chance that we could get. Avoid - don't do it!. The pictures on their website are very deceiving. The place is very dumpy. The "furnished" apartments are filled with furniture that looks like it came from the goodwill. Dirty sofas, chairs half broken and the rug a huge stain from where a dog defecated. The furniture could not have cost more than $200 for total from the Goodwill. The WIFI sucks as well. Next the manager, I forget her name but a very unkind Asian woman is only good at charging your credit card - every other request is ignored. We requested the "Specter" brand TV replaced since it intermittently just shot off. It was never replaced after numerous requests. Lastly after our stay we had the damage walk thru. The contractor the apt hired to conduct found no damage and we moved out. A month later we get an email from the manager claiming smoke damage from candles and we owe an additional $500. Really? The contractor that conducts the walk thru told us the owners are scammers - we found out the hard way Avoid like the plague. read more

It is a fetid dump - pure and simple. Website photos are 10 years out of date (with intention). I highly recommend you focus on the negative reviews, they are not candy-coating the truth. Over the course of a month we were in three units; 2 in one day! The first unit spewed black mold / mildew as soon as you turned on the in-wall air conditioner. Other reviews talk about 'the smell' and they aren't kidding, this place has a death funk about it; like a million tiny mice lost their lives here and were buried into the foundation of the place. If you are on the ground floor you will hear your neighbors above you; the floors squeak badly. I saw them furnishing a unit across the hall from us. The guy took some bed frames out into the grass and spray painted then minutes before bringing the into the room. I don't know where they get this furniture, goodwill or estate sales, or your grandparents basement. Some of the main-floor units have a basement with a 'bedroom' and jacuzzl downstairs. The basements are dank and moldy; you have to run the dehumidfier they provide, then they ding you for the electricity you use to dry out THEIR basement!! My posterior orifice took a major widening from that little trick. I personally think the vast majority of the reviews on a trip advisory type site are generated by the employees themselves (users with only one review to their credit). If you must stay in Madison and don't have the cash, fine stay here but do so at your own risk to your health. Did I mention threadbare sheets and bloodstained pillowcases? read more

These are like a hybrid apartment/hotel and for the price you get a much better deal than you would at a hotel IMO. My company suggested I stay at the Extended Stay for about $50/night. However I've stayed there before and decided I wanted to try something different as the Extended Stay is usually small and their wi-fi is awful. This place has wi-fi that is free but also the bedroom has an actual ethernet connection. Anyways, this place works out to $43/night, at least that was my rate for a 30 day stay. The building is obviously older and there is a definite smell, sort of like an old persons smell, kinda bad when you come into the front hall so that's sort of a negative and gets you worried a bit, but once you get into your actual apartment that smell doesn't exist. My apartment smelled fresh and was very clean. I also got a pretty large place for $43/night, it consisted of two fairly good sized bedrooms, both with tvs/vcrs/dvd (really crappy old audio video equipment I might add) with one bedrom having a queen sized bed and the other having two twins. The main bedroom has a really large picture window which is nice. The living room has a balcony with some furniture to sit on and everything in the kitchen is there that you'll need (including dishwasher--no icemaker though). One nice thing is if you set up your stay beforehand with the rental office when you arrive you can just go into your room as the rooms are keyless entry, you use a code to get in. One thing of note though is you do have to press the center button on the keypad to lock your room, so be aware of that (the rental office didn't tell me that--I figured that out myself) so you don't go and leave your place unlocked. For you tech geeks like me the ethernet is fairly fast, about 6mbps down and 1 mbps up and the wi-fi is good enough as well for even netflix. However, one thing to note, if you have an Xbox or another tech device which you want to use with the ethernet that has no built-in browser to accept the "terms" of use then you will have to call the support line for the service (Madcity Broadband) to have them add your MAC address so you can utilize the ethernet. Prepare to wait on hold for about 20 minutes. Other things to note is they have all the other amenities of hotels, work out room, dvd rentals (which are free overnight btw) and the like so that's a plus. And you get maid service once a week, they change your sheets, vacuum, take out your garbage and just in general tidy up a bit. The apartments are also very quiet, you don't hear doors slamming or children running or anything (I was in an upstairs apartment so I can't vouch for people walking above you). Now here's the main thing to note: just about everything you can think of is there for the fully furnished units. They have toilet paper, some napkins, salt & pepper, all the little things. About the only thing you need to bring is some dish soap (to wash the dishes--the dishwasher does have one complimentary soap module to use), your toothbrush and your clothes. The place is much better stocked than most places which say they're fully furnished but you find yourself running to Walmart the second day you're there and spending $40 or so on the basics. My main complaint is the quality of the tv service. You get no HBO, no showtime and about half the channels of the 42 offered are utterly unwatchable with so much snow you might as well be using rabbit ears. If they'd get a real service here with clear channels, and give you the option to add HBO/Showtime ala carte with some newer tvs (the tvs in the unit are from about 20 years ago, LOL) then this place would be about perfect really and I'd raise my rating to 5 stars. In summary though this place cannot be beat by any hotel or extended stay and I'd highly recommend it for corporate travelers and anyone staying in Madison for more than a few days. read more

Stayed in a 3 bedroom unit for a 2 week period. The apartments were well furnished and in particular, the kitchen was very well appointed with all the cooking utensils and appliances that you need. The unit was clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The laundry was clean and more than adequate for our needs. The office staff were very helpful and obliging. There was an extensive free DVD library and the internet connection worked very well, all the time. . The Countryside Corporate Apartments were great value for money. My husband, daughter, and I were waiting to close on our new home and needed somewhere to stay. Unfortunately, most places force you to sign yearly leases, not something we wanted to get into since we weren't sure how long we'd need somewhere to stay! We ended up finding Countryside Corporate Apartments were so happy we did. They offer flexible week to week or month to month leasing options which was absolutely perfect for us. They are currently updating several of the units and even though ours was one of the older ones, it was still clean, comfortable, and had TONS of storage. We chose a 3-bedroom unit, but ended up not even needing the 3rd bedroom for storage because there were so many closets and shelves! Countryside also allows pets in some of their units, which meant we didn't have to find separate accommodations for our cat. Some of our other favorite aspects were: - Luggage carts make moving in and out much easier - Great playground and pool areas - Laundry facilities in each building - Business center and DVD library - Super friendly office staff - Fully stocked kitchen - Weekly maid service - Easy access to the beltline Great place for when you need short-term accommodations in Madison! read more

My family and I were really lucky to find Countryside Apartments. We stayed for two weeks in one of their 2-bedroom apartments, and it was perfect. A much better option than all of us cramming into a single hotel room - which is what we did for several days before we found Countryside. Once we moved in, I couldn't believe the amount of space we had - the kids in their own room, a separate living room to hang out in, plus our apartment had a nice deck / back porch with a table and chairs as well. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, pots & pans, full-sized fridge, oven, etc. so we were able to buy groceries and actually cook some meals at home, rather than existing on take-out everyday. One downside compared to staying at a hotel, is that there was not a free continental breakfast, or anything like that, but again, having a full kitchen where we could easily prep a hot breakfast more than made up for that. A few more notes about the property: there are a bunch of amenities, which really helped to keep the kids entertained. There is a huge yard in between the two buildings, where my kids played football and soccer (they borrowed the soccer ball from the Countryside staff). At one end of the property, there is also a nice wooden playground structure (swings, monkey bars, slide, etc) - which my kids explored a little, but would be perfect for younger children. There is also a nice walking path that circles the entire property, and goes through some really pretty woods that surround the grounds. Indoors, there is a huge game room with free-to-play pool / billiards (2 tables), ping pong, foosball, and air hockey. There is also a roomy and nicely-outfitted exercise room, which we could all comfortably use at the same time. Because it was fall when we were there, we didn't use the swimming pool at all, but it looked nice, and is probably great to have if you stay in the summer! On top of all the great features of Countryside Apartments, I also want to commend the wonderful friendly staff. I mainly worked with Connie, who went above and beyond to help us get moved in after normal business hours, always responded quickly to our requests or questions, and was just a generally nice person - very pleasant to work with! I met two other men in the front office as well, but didn't see them as often, so I don't remember their names, but they were also both very helpful - and as I mentioned above, they loaned a soccerball to my kids for them to kick around in the yard. read more

We stayed here for six weeks in between moving from Madison to Florida. It was great short term rental. Fully furnished and stocked with amenities, dishes, towels. Cleaned weekly bedding changed, apartment cleaned and new towels. Washer and dryer onsite. Nice playground onsite for kids and grilling area, and nice walking trails. The staff was wonderful and helpful. Also have a nice game lounge and gym. Easy living for transition all we needed was our clothes and toys for the kids. They even have a very nice movie library. Great place to stay all summer while conducting personal family business. The people here (office, maintenance, grounds, housekeeping) work very hard to keep the renters happy. The units are cleaned weekly & are maintained & upgraded continuously. We had a new refrigerator & garbage disposal installed quickly during our stay. This place is inexpensive, and an excellent value for the money. We had to unexpectedly extend our stay twice, and as a result ended up staying in three different units. Honestly, I could live almost anywhere & I have chosen Countryside Corporate Apartments. I moved in here with my son last January, my son is now away at the University of Iowa. I like it here so much I have continued my stay. The staff, management, Maintenance, and Housekeeping is excellent, and trustworthy. Honestly, when they say that your unit is "furnished", they are not kidding. They furnish everything you could ever need, except a toothbrush. All dinnerware, silverware, appliances, laundry facilities on premises, large flat-screened TV's with programming and WiFi is included in the rent. There is a well-maintained, fenced-in pool & plenty of BBQ pits around. Great big parking lot guarantees plenty of room for your car. read more

I liked being off the beltline and not too far from the airport or downtown. I was also close to work. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. You have everything you need in the apartment. The weekly cleaning service was a bonus. I lived alone and had my cat. Therefore safety was a priority for me. I felt comfortable and safe living here. I also like the external doors to the building lock at night and residents in that building use a code to enter. We stayed for 30 days waiting for our home to be built. The management team was great. The 2 small issues we had, were fixed the same day. Their team is always working to clean, update and repair. Very convenient location and the accommodations kept our kids busy. We stayed in a 3 bedroom with our dog. The unit was spotless when we moved in. Furniture is clean an comfortable and all kitchen equipment from forks and knives to an electric can opener are included. Basic cable is included in the rent and you can call the cable company an buy a channel package that suits your needs if you want. The wireless internet works great. I recently stayed at the Countryside Corporate Apartments for 2 weeks while in Madison, WI. We rented a 3-bedroom apartment which was perfect for my husband, 2 children, and me. The reservation process was easy. The apartment was nothing fancy, but it was clean and functional. There were a few minor issues (i.e. the TV remote was missing) but nothing major. The apartments have their own outdoor playground for kids, and they are located about a 1/2 mile from a really nice community park and playground. These apartments are a really good option for people with kids who need a place to stay for a few weeks to months and don't want to spend thousands of dollars on VRBOs or hotels. read more

When we had to return to Madison for medical care, the first thing we did was call Countryside. Connie immediately remembered us from a 6 month stay in 2013 (under much better circumstances). She had a 2 bedroom next to the 2nd floor unit we had stayed in at that time and because of our prior stay, she had everything taken care of, over the phone, in perhaps 5 minutes. Connie and everyone at Countryside are always friendly, efficient and accommodating. The apt is clean, quiet and furnished with everything we might need. Right down to the silverware and pots and pans. Location is excellent, especially for the UW and Veteran's Hospitals. Just S of the Beltline, between the Todd and Verona Rd exits. We will definitely stay again if we return to Madison...and highly recommend Countryside. read more

We all know there are pros and cons to every apartment building, and when traveling during the course of your work life, we can be a bit selective. Is the building brand new? (No). Is the furniture new? (No). However, everything provided was sufficient and very comfortable. The internet, wifi, large screen hdtv, a swimming pool, gym, laundry room, game room, video rentals and management on site! Those are nice extras. I stayed at the apartments for three months for work in Madison, and I was happy to stay there. It was convenient to get downtown Madison (about 10 - 15 minutes depending on traffic) and is near the Beltline, so you can get around the city pretty quickly. I had no problems at all traffic wise. I felt safe in the area, and with key code into the building AND into the apartment, it was ideal for security. My apartment was very nicely appointed, almost like an extended-stay hotel room. The king bed was extremely comfortable! The kitchen had everything I could want, and it was incredibly spacious. The balcony overlooking the pool was large, with enough room for table and chairs. The parking lot was well lit and had security cameras. I stayed over the winter, but found the sidewalks and parking lot area swept, shoveled and salted every day. The cleaning staff came every week and believe me when I say it is a welcome site after an extremely busy day, to find your apartment clean!! The best part about the apartments was working with Connie and Brian, the managers. They were so accommodating, so patient and friendly. Every question I had was answered quickly, and every issue was dealt with immediately. Yes, I did have a noisy neighbor. The walls are not as thick as one would like, but once I mentioned it to Connie and Brian, the issue was dealt with professionally. I would definitely stay here again! read more

Stayed at Countryside with my wife and dog while visiting relatives that live near Madison WI. We enjoyed our month-long stay here. Our apartment had a complete kitchen which included everything we needed.. Furnishings could be updated, but we were staying in a "pet apartment" so this is understandable. Couldn't believe how quiet it was even though we were only a block or two away from the busy beltline that surrounds Madison. The management was very responsive to our needs and corrected a couple small problems that we encountered immediately. My wife enjoyed their pool and my son and I played pool and ping pong in their recreation room. They also have a convenient and enclosed dog area. Laundry room is on site in the basement. It is clean and safe and convenient. We have already booked 6 weeks with them next summer and looking forward to our stay. Room Tip: We found our 2nd floor apartment to be very quiet. We needed a furnished, short term rental when relocating to the area, until our house was ready, and we were very happy with our choice to stay here! Very convenient location, clean, well-appointed apartment. It's clear that the furniture was obtained from various sources and has been used, but is in good shape, and again, very clean. Weekly maid service was clutch! It was very easy for us, with two young children, to settle in and feel at home in this temporary location. The office staff are responsive and very easy to work with, and even in the winter, we had fun on the paths and in the playground. It is not fancy (I was very happy we brought our own kitchen knives), but it is cozy, felt safe, and was wonderfully clean (all towels, bedding, etc have been in good condition). BED BUGS! BED BUGS! BED BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are relocating to the Madison area, and these were some of the ONLY furnished apartments we could find. We could put up with the old flooring/fixtures, nasty smells, inadequate cleaning, and appliances the worked (but were in ill-repair) for a month, but what we could not have imagined the place would be infested with BED BUGS!!!! Not only did the management try to say they "have never had these before" (We found MATURE Bed Bugs-- alive and the skins of many others, not to mention the defecation they leave as a "little community'), but they did not properly treat the area, were reluctant to allow us to leave that unit (even to sleep), and did NOTHING t help us with THEIR nightmare! They never called in a professional service, and the spray they used in our bedrooms made us all sick. The owner NEVER called, came over, or otherwise to take care of this terrible problem. They did not reimburse us for our expenses, either! We ruined hundreds of dollars of clothing, shoes, luggage, bags, etc. in the treatments--many of which had to be thrown away!!! Plus the medical expenses for the visits to the ED to find out what the RASH all over our bodies was!!! DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES! While there, we did speak to other tenants who were looking to get out of there because they were extremely dissatisfied with the place as well; apparently it has been going down hill for awhile now...also, maintenance workers were throwing away mattresses from many rooms in our building about the time we vacated...hhmmm..... There is no room in this serviced-based industry for such callous and unprofessional disregard to the the safety, health, and happiness of consumers! We are appalled and sickened. Our daughter is STILL having nightmares (2.5 months later)! read more
