    Broken toilet seat lid

DON'T DO IT! STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were in town for a horse show. The location of this hotel was great. However that's where the greatness ends. The night we arrived to check in, the front desk let me know they had already checked someone in under my reservation. After 30 min of back and forth and many calls to the manager they got it figured out. The stairs leading up to the 2nd floor was nothing but dried mud and filth. (NO ELEVATOR. Which is a big deal when you have as much stuff as we did) Got to our room (room 221) The window was busted. Bedding was stained. Furniture was full of dust. Carpet was dirty. Mirror had hand prints all over it. Bugs in the window sill. Luke warm hot water. Thankfully I had brought my own cleaning supplies and blankets. The next morning we went down for breakfast. We looked around but found a note that read "Not worth eating" next to the potpourri pot full of gravy. I knew that was my sign NOT to try it! However I did hear other guest discussing how horrible the food was. Gravy cold. Eggs and sausage rubbery. Cereal stale etc. Day 2. We had the day off from showing and had planned for a fun day at the zoo. But At 9am the front desk lady was beating on my door to let me know that the people would be there to fix the broken window at 12. Since I was traveling with my 2 small dogs I wasn't going to leave them in the room where strange people would be in and out all day so we had to cancel our zoo plans and opted for something more pet friendly. Day 2 afternoon. Once we returned back to our room after the window was repaired I noticed the door handle was broken. I told the front desk and they called the manager. The manager said there was no way because he was there the whole time. So I chucked the limp noodle door handle as just a figment of my imagination. Also we noticed that when we flushed the toilet it was bubbling and gurgling. Again no one seemed to care. So we prayed we could get out before it erupted. The girls wanted to swim. So I took them down to the pool. Most always in door pools are heated if even just a little. Not this one! The kids were complaining how cold it was. The pool area like the rest of the hotel was old and ran down. The sliding glass door that opens to go out onto the patio was broken (no surprise) The kids made the best of it and stayed in the pool for about 45 minutes. The last night we got back to the hotel super late and I was trying to assist the kids at the bathroom sink washing the stain out of a garment. I had put the toilet seat top down and lightly put my knee on it. Next thing we hear is a crack and my knee was in the toilet. The toilet seat top had broke! At this point I was done. I couldn't with this place anymore and was thankful the next day we were leaving. The next morning as I'm packing my suv to go home I held the door for a lady who was cussing the front desk people out and telling them how filthy and disgusting the place was. The front desk man (which I believe was the manger/owner) just stood there. Upon speaking to some of our other team mates families they to expressed similar situations. One even killed a large ROACH that was running across the bathroom counter at 3am and took it to the front desk for them to say "IT HAPPENS". My suggestion...sleep in your car before you sleep at this hotel! This place needs to be bulldozed! It's horrible! The cleaning people obviously don't know how to do their jobs and management don't care and quote "think it's as nice as any other 4 star hotel!"

We had to go to a wedding and a graduation in the area so we booked our trip with Nancy via email. When we arrived we were greeted by Nancy's daughter and showed around briefly, then to our room. They have the cutest little dog and a couple of cats which are lazy and very friendly. Our room was huge, very nice and very clean. The bed was very comfortable, much more so than just about any bed in any home-away-from-home that I've stayed at, the only comparable bed would probably be the beds at Hampton Inn (which will cost you about $159 a night I might add). We were the only ones staying the first night and were able to name our own breakfast time, we chose 9am. The next morning we woke up to the smell of bacon and went downstairs for a wonderful breakfast of fruit plate, apple-french toast and bacon with juice and tea (neither of us drink coffee). We spoke with Nancy for nearly two hours about the area and really enjoyed our time just sitting and talking. The next day we had another wonderful breakfast before departing. Our first experience with a bed & breakfast was a great one. I think we were very fortunate to have chosen such a beautiful historic house run by such a wonderful family. As a side note as a techno-addict I appreciated the fast, free wi-fi (fast enough to stream Netflix). Unfortunately with our wedding and graduation we did not have time for a proper tour of the grounds and the area but since my girlfriend has family in the area we most certainly plan to come back. This is a fantastic value for the money and far beats anything you will find in a hotel, in cleanliness, comfort and value. And what hotel that you stay at is going to have such a cute Pomeranian to eat breakfast with? I loved the place so much I tipped Nancy generously and I would recommend everyone else do the same, you shouldn't have any problem affording it with the money you save from staying at a Holiday Inn!

Came here with my friend and her mother for a single night stay as part of a friend's wedding. I was surprised to see a Holiday Inn in this area since it isn't particularly populated, though I certainly appreciated it being here! The rooms are clean and well-appointed, and any amenity you might need is either already in the room or available at the front counter. I somehow managed to forget to bring an iPhone charger (arguably the most important thing you should bring on any trip) so I went up front to see if they had one on offer and, sure enough, they offered me one right away. I half-expected them to ask for my driver's license or at least room number before entrusting it to me, though they were super casual about it : "It's fine, you can bring it back whenever you're done with it!" Wow, that's a breath of fresh air! The complimentary breakfast here was very nice and had a variety of warm options (not just cold cereal or basic oatmeal like many hotels try to pass off as a meal), and I dutifully returned the charger to the front desk prior to departure, with them accepting it back as casually as they had issued it. Maybe that's more about the nature of people who live around here, though I appreciated it just the same! While I didn't use the pool on this occasion, it did look very appealing, as did the landscaping around the hotel. I was very pleased with my short visit here and would gladly do it again if offered the chance! Overall: 5.0 stars ---- Pros: - Excellent rooms with everything you'll need to keep you comfortable. - Clean rooms, common areas, and parking lot. - Pleasant (and trusting) staff. - Great continental breakfast, actually worthy of that title. Cons: - None. You pay more for Holiday Inn than you would elsewhere and for good reason: they provide great value and ensure you're well-rested and in a good mood for whatever rigors tomorrow holds for you!

Firstly, this is the best and friendliest staff I have ever known. The GM is hilarious and made time to make sure everything was right in my room and even brought me goodies to snack on even though I couldn't- I'm on keto, but they were very tempting snacks. Ok, so let me tell you about the room. Girl, the room had the most perfect bed I have ever slept on. If I could have figured out a way to smuggle this bed out I would have. I'm kinda like the Goldilocks of hotel beds and this one was just right. So right in fact that when I went to lay down for just 5 min before unpacking my gear it sucked me in and I slept for 2 hours ! That never happens! The tv was actually larger than my 50 inch at home and had great channels. This one hotel has messed up my entire theory of hotel cable. Maybe it's an anomaly, but in all the years I have been traveling for my career the equation has been the better the hotel is the shittier the cable. Well thanks for proving me wrong this time, Hampton Inn! The room itself was excellent. They gave me a handicap accessible room on the first floor and it was the first room when one walks in- as all handicapped rooms should be. Why most hotels put them so far down the hallways I'll never know. This one did it right. Getting a late checkout wasn't an issue, either. In fact they offered it to me. The best part of my stay had to be the giant picture of cows behind the front desk welcoming me into the hotel. Yes, cowss. I love cows and the cow picture just made me smile as I avoided the fresh, hot cookies. Corporate, leave that cow pic alone! Thank you so much, Hampton Inn! I will stay here next time I'm anywhere close.

Listen to horse hooves clapping along the highway pavement as you approach the long gravel drive and see an Amish man conducting a horse-drawn carriage. Enter the main house through the welcoming squeaks of a screen door and the aromas of home cooking. Sit down to dinner and meet the chef in person, who will proudly (and rightfully) proclaim, "Best pork chop you've ever had, or it's free!" He was right. As enticing as it was to have the pork chop for every meal, we delved into the remainder of the menu; Fried chicken was juicy, tender, crispy, and dark golden brown. Black bean soup was simple with garlic, onion, and pepper. Needed a bit of salt, but it was really delicious, even if under-seasoned. The menu was full of delicious Heartland food for the soul. Top off your night with a tipsy cider (hot apple cider with caramel vodka: genius) by the fire, where you'll meet other travelers and watch the moon light up the sky. When morning breaks, treat yourself to a stroll amongst the wooded trails that stretch for just under five miles. In the fall, the colors are absolutely breathtaking. There's nothing like a good, warm breakfast after a brisk walk...and once again, the chef did not disappoint. He even heated my steak from the night before so that I could enjoy steak and eggs. My only criticism of Murphin Ridge Inn was the beds; exquisitely uncomfortable and bouncier than a hop-along ball. Unless you love hard beds and plan to sleep alone, be prepared to be startled awake by every move your partner makes, and the probability of waking up stiff and sore is pretty high. The fact that we had a fireplace with a sleep timer in the middle of the room almost made us forget about the discomfort of the mattress, though. I'd still return to Murphin Ridge Inn for the atmosphere, food, friendly service, and relaxation, but I'd come prepared next time with a comfy mattress pad and maybe a cot.

Just off the Interstate but far enough that there was no traffic noises. Staff was courteous, masked the whole time and room was wonderful. The only drawback was the regular old shower head had a low flow, so it took awhile to rinse off. Beds were firm, pillows were firm - a great night's sleep. Plus very close to Walmart for forgotten items (like my wife's readers). Breakfast was very nice also. Coffee was from a single cup process machine but it had several settings from light to strong. The store in the lobby made it super easy to grab a snack and charge it to my room. I found the room on Priceline and got a very good price, with no issues at all upon arrival. My only complaint - my King room had ample room, but the design was off, which resulted in a very dangerous clearance next to the right side of the bed. If you get up in the night, you may stumble and find yourself going right into the window - as I almost did. if you're alone, sleep on the other side of the bed - away from the window. If you're not... good luck! Other than the unfortunate spacing issue, this was an OK stay. On par with the new Holiday Inn Express in the area but can be had for much cheaper.

We went straight to the front desk and were told this was "normal for the season" and that moving rooms would not help because every room supposedly had bugs too. We had tickets for the Ark the next morning and there was a huge storm coming in, so we did not feel safe trying to drive around an unfamiliar area late at night looking for another hotel. We basically felt trapped into staying there for the night. The next morning I called corporate and was told the hotel agreed to refund everything. I explained we still needed time to find another hotel since we originally planned to stay 2 nights. When I called back around 3 PM after visiting Noah's Ark, suddenly they changed their story and said they were NOT refunding us anymore. After endless back and forth, they finally claimed they would "only" charge us $40 for late checkout and refund the rest, which I agreed to. Then came even more lies and confusion. The employee told me they "didn't know how to process refunds" and that I would need to call back when the manager arrived -- even though the person I had been speaking to, SANDRA, supposedly WAS the manager and had already promised the refund herself. Once we left, they ended up charging us for BOTH nights anyway. When I called the next morning, they completely denied ever offering a refund at all. The customer service was beyond horrible. Every single person gave different stories, lied about who the manager was, and refused to take responsibility. Absolutely one of the nastiest and most dishonest hotel experiences I've ever had. I've filed complaints everywhere possible. Videos of the bugs are on my TikTok, and I'm posting screenshots for proof. Avoid this place at all costs.

I don't think I've ever seen any hotel do it more cheaply. The waffle machines are behind the bar - but on a Wednesday morning, the attendant said that only she could use it but they were too busy today. However, my husband and I were the only people there. We were given a TINY plastic plate to pile on cold scrambled eggs, cold raw bacon, any toast or biscuit you wanted. I had decided to have oatmeal, but the EVEN TINIER plastic bowl was so small that there would be no way to stir it. My husband did try to make his bran flakes so I got a picture, for reference. Coffee was Walmart pods - blah! The 2nd picture is of the coffee pot in the room. It is totally rusted - and dirty. I shared with the front desk that their coffee pots wouldn't rust so quickly if they didn't place them on the already small bathroom counter by the sink. That space is needed for us anyway! Loved the room, air conditioner, FABULOUS bed and the ambiance of the whole place.
