Hampton Inn Maysville - Reception

Ona positive note, this was a bed to sleep in while in town. Other than that this was a…read moredisappointing Hilton property. The rooms definitely show their age and are in dire need of a remodel. I could only get lukewarm water in the shower and the gym was in total disrepair. The treadmill had an out of order sign on it, which from reading other reviews was the same 11 months ago so does that mean it has been out this long? The Peleton also wasn't working and the elliptical machine turned on but the resistance did not work. The location is decent as you can walk to a couple of chain restaurants and a few stores including Kroger.

My only complaints would be that you can tell some furniture and fixtures in the rooms were old, and you can definitely see their age. Also, the water fountains do not work and apparently have not since covid. As someone who drinks a lot of water and does not always trust the bathroom sinks, this required me to have to purchase bottles from Kroger, instead of just refilling my water bottle at the fountains like I normally do at hotels. Lastly, the treadmill in the fitness center was out while I stayed, which was an inconvenience as I could not keep up my normal routine runs while I was there. All these problems are not deal breakers, but they did take away from my stay. Overall though, I would come back to this hotel if I need to on my next visit to Maysville. The people at the counter are very nice and saw to all my needs, and it is nicely located compared to many amenities in Maysville.

My wife and I travel a lot and we have an opportunity to compare hotel/motels. The French Quarter is definitely a place we would come back too, and recommend.

I don't think I've ever seen any hotel do it more cheaply. The waffle machines are behind the bar - but on a Wednesday morning, the attendant said that only she could use it but they were too busy today. However, my husband and I were the only people there. We were given a TINY plastic plate to pile on cold scrambled eggs, cold raw bacon, any toast or biscuit you wanted. I had decided to have oatmeal, but the EVEN TINIER plastic bowl was so small that there would be no way to stir it. My husband did try to make his bran flakes so I got a picture, for reference. Coffee was Walmart pods - blah! The 2nd picture is of the coffee pot in the room. It is totally rusted - and dirty. I shared with the front desk that their coffee pots wouldn't rust so quickly if they didn't place them on the already small bathroom counter by the sink. That space is needed for us anyway! Loved the room, air conditioner, FABULOUS bed and the ambiance of the whole place.

They actually go out of their way to be helpful. Will stay there again when we go back with the grandkids. Nice clean updated rooms. Great work out center or gym and tasty free breakfast. The longer we stayed in the room, the more bugs we noticed crawling around. It was absolutely disgusting. We went straight to the front desk and were told this was "normal for the season" and that moving rooms would not help because every room supposedly had bugs too. We had tickets for the Ark the next morning and there was a huge storm coming in, so we did not feel safe trying to drive around an unfamiliar area late at night looking for another hotel. We basically felt trapped into staying there for the night. The next morning I called corporate and was told the hotel agreed to refund everything. I explained we still needed time to find another hotel since we originally planned to stay 2 nights. When I called back around 3 PM after visiting Noah's Ark, suddenly they changed their story and said they were NOT refunding us anymore. After endless back and forth, they finally claimed they would "only" charge us $40 for late checkout and refund the rest, which I agreed to. Then came even more lies and confusion. The employee told me they "didn't know how to process refunds" and that I would need to call back when the manager arrived -- even though the person I had been speaking to, SANDRA, supposedly WAS the manager and had already promised the refund herself. Once we left, they ended up charging us for BOTH nights anyway. When I called the next morning, they completely denied ever offering a refund at all. The customer service was beyond horrible. Every single person gave different stories, lied about who the manager was, and refused to take responsibility. Absolutely one of the nastiest and most dishonest hotel experiences I've ever had. I've filed complaints everywhere possible. Videos of the bugs are on my TikTok, and I'm posting screenshots for proof. Avoid this place at all costs.

Just off the Interstate but far enough that there was no traffic noises. Staff was courteous, masked the whole time and room was wonderful. The only drawback was the regular old shower head had a low flow, so it took awhile to rinse off. Beds were firm, pillows were firm - a great night's sleep. Plus very close to Walmart for forgotten items (like my wife's readers). Breakfast was very nice also. Coffee was from a single cup process machine but it had several settings from light to strong. Great coffee. And juice was also great, not watered down as some places do. Recommended.

Check-in was actually friendly. The lighting in the bathroom was great. The free breakfast had some interesting choices - not the standard things you see everywhere else in this price range. The store in the lobby made it super easy to grab a snack and charge it to my room. I found the room on Priceline and got a very good price, with no issues at all upon arrival. My only complaint - my King room had ample room, but the design was off, which resulted in a very dangerous clearance next to the right side of the bed. If you get up in the night, you may stumble and find yourself going right into the window - as I almost did. if you're alone, sleep on the other side of the bed - away from the window. If you're not... good luck! Other than the unfortunate spacing issue, this was an OK stay. On par with the new Holiday Inn Express in the area but can be had for much cheaper.

Not only were they fine with letting us do cakes as centerpieces, Cheryl had the amazing idea for us to assign table captains to cut their table's cake. We loved this idea and turned it into a fun little ice breaker game for the guests to find out who would be the table captain. I especially appreciate that there was always someone to help answer my questions in a timely manner. I live out-of-town which made the emails and phone calls extra important to me. Cheryl always took extensive notes and she never missed a single detail! Whenever we met her in person, she never rushed us and was completely attentive as we tried decorating ideas and got just as excited about them as me. You can tell that Cheryl absolutely loves her job! She treated my wedding as if it was her own daughter's wedding. Cheryl and her staff did an amazing job at setting up all the cake stands, candles, photos, slide show, time capsule, rented pub tables, and simply added touches that made everything come together beautifully. I used to get stuck decorating for all of my friends' weddings and I found it amazing that i didn't have to do a thing to decorate at Nathanael Greene. They took care of everything! If you are looking for a reception venue close to down town Cincinnati, or several of the West Side churches, Nathanael Greene is a no-brainer! Its only about three minutes from the Holiday Inn, plus they have free parking. Nathanael Greene is on beautiful, private property, which made the back patio perfect for our cocktail hour. I liked that they had a backup plan if it rained. Our guests loved Brown Dog Cafe, too!

This is a brand spanking new Holiday Inn Express in Dry Ridge. It was so new when I stayed there…read morethat I could still smell the paint. If you're in Dry Ridge you're probably here for the Ark or (my situation), you're from Kentucky and you can't stay with your parents because they keep the house too damn hot. Just weeks after opening, this place is already PACKED. Religious tourism is real. And what that means for you as a guest is these people are all so nice (I have honestly never been "Good Morning'd" so much in my life...) and they have kids. So get to that indoor pool early or you won't be able to enjoy it. The free breakfast is surprisingly good. I highly recommend you get up early for that to avoid the crowds. The aforementioned indoor swimming pool and the gym are also nice and clean - good amenities to have, particularly the pool which you rarely see anymore. The hotel in general is very nice but the rooms have some strange features - like an almost complete lack of storage space. Maybe my room was an anomaly because it was at the very end of the hall, but it felt a little cramped. If you're staying there with a family (as it appears most people are), these rooms are going to feel very small and you'll notice the lack of shelves or drawer space. There was a coffee area and a mini fridge. The lobby has a small store and a single desk "business center". I would definitely stay here again when visiting family in the area. It's better than average for sure.
