We agreed on the final planting, and set a date, then he emailed me that he could not find the perennials I wanted, and we would have to wait until the fall to plant the rest. I wanted to finish the plantings, so I suggested we look at other ideas. We went back and forth many times, he suggesting some, me saying no, and vice versa. Then I began to get complaints--things like, "I'm running out of ideas", or my favorite "This is taking up more time than my $10,000 and $20,000 jobs I have scheduled, and I can't make any money." As the home owner, I have the right to have a garden that I will enjoy, so who wants to hear complaints from someone that you hire? We eventually finalized everything, and set a date. His crew was great! Friendly, knowledgeable, and did a great job--garden looks great. They solved my drainage problem, so I no longer had the threat of water destroying my plants. That was the initial plantings. The crew that came in to finish the 2nd set of plants wasn't so hot. They neglected to put down mulch, and living in the South, you have to have it, so I had to buy it myself and spread it. I asked them about it, and they said Nick said not to--mystery to me. This is not the cheapest landscaping company in Charlotte NC, but they had such grand reviews, I decided to go with them. I'm hoping I can make my garden grow, as I've not had luck in the past, but I'm not even going to bother asking for replacements if some of them die, as the 1-year warranty is iron clad with watering requirements, pest control, soil issues, etc.

We were in a bind and needed help quickly. Two companies who were working on installing cables in…read morethe area really messed up our irrigation system near the backflow device and our main water line. While this wasn't intentionally done, and they tried to do some things to help restore our water, unfortunately the people who did the work lacked the expertise to complete the job. We needed someone before the hole was closed and work completed. The backflow device, which by itself is an expensive piece to replace, was toast. Our irrigation system was completely cut off. We called our plumber, All Hours Plumbing, who referred us to Blue2Green. Micheal and his associate sized up the situation and not only replaced the backflow device, but also rerouted the pipes, simplifying the arrangement and adding a new cut-off valve. His charge was very reasonable, considering the effort involved, all the parts, and what he did to straighten out the problem. What I ended up with was in my opinion a work of art. I will continue to use him for all our irrigation needs. I highly recommend his services. If you need a professional for any irrigation problem I suggest you contact Blue2Green. I had imagined that the cost of putting in the really good stuff would be prohibitive so getting a putting green was relegated to my bucket list along with playing golf with Tiger Woods, climbing Mt. Everest, having a cup of coffee with George Bush and a few other such items The idiom "it's an ill wind that blows no good" took on a literal meaning for us recently as we faced the devastation wrought by hurricane Florence. Like many in coastal North Carolina, damages to our home were covered by insurance but not our landscape. That's where we took the biggest hit. The quotes we got for replacing what could be replaced were costly and would require a lot of hard work on our part. Even so it in no way restore the landscape to what it was. Only years of tender loving care as rendered by my wife to the flower gardens, shrubs, trellises, dwarf trees, etc. could do that. That's where the "bucket list" and the "ill wind" joined forces. I was reviewing quotes when the thought of the back yard putting green popped into my head. I did a little research on the improvement in synthetic grass. I went on line to get a better idea on pricing. I had heard Hank Haney talk about "Celebrity Greens" Their web site stated that they had installed greens for many in the golf profession. I thought, if they were satisfying some of the most demanding in the golf industry, the product must be good. But, could I afford it? I sent them my contact info. to find out. To my surprise I got a call from Weston Weber, the company founder. Among many interesting things about the golf industry, we discussed the practicality and affordability of my "bucket list" green. He told me that he was adding an installation company to his team and that the completion of their training could work very well with my schedule and he would have them get in touch with me. (Bucket List! Price!) Sure enough, I got a follow up call from Scott Fairman, the owner of Scott's Turf in Charlotte. We agreed on the scope of the project and price. A month later we now are looking at the finished product. It is beautiful. Scott and his team (And I do mean team) are professionals. Celebrity Greens supported Scott's team with Mark Phillips, one of the best installers in the country. The landscaping is beautiful and the jewel in the middle of it all is this undulating, 11.5 rolling, fringed green with supporting chipping areas. The cost of all of it was about the same as what restoring the landscape to what it was before the storm. The smartest move I made was allowing Scott the freedom to create the landscape as he visualized it, rather than me dreaming up something. He created a gem. Oh, and about the tender loving care part, maintenance is minimal and that is a good thing, because now my wife is too busy for that. She is stroking 5', left to right, down hillers, the only thing keeping her from getting back into single digits now that she has so much free time. Since this is the second phase on this section of our property, we only needed clearing of bushes and underbrush, grading, fresh soil and seeding. Tree removal and trimming was done this past Spring and walls, plants, beds, and specimen trees will be done in phase three, much of which we can do ourselves. Here's the point: they showed up on time, did the work as stated, finished on time, and cleaned up. Price was exactly as stated. Very professional outfit. I'd hire them again.
