The entire staff was absolutely amazing and very accommodating! My sweet Chihuahua needed dental work done and I am the type of person to worry about that sort of thing but the entire staff reassured me in every way possible! They communicated beautifully and were very gentle with my boy as well as me considering I was very scared and quite literally crying the whole time. They made me feel very comfortable with letting them handle my sweet boy and they did everything with such care it was just truly an amazing experience! Like I said the staff was absolutely incredible! They definitely cared for my dog as much as I do and I am so grateful for the entire team and Doctor Tammy! I would give lessons zero reviews at this point if I could.... I moved up here in December, I have requested emergency veterinary services on two separate occasions (followed up to try to schedule normal appointments to establish routine veterinary care and schedules Faye neuter)..... only to find out the soonest they could get me in was six months in the future for an emergency( I was quoted July originally, for a potential abscess... the front desk person did not seem to understand why six months for a potential abscess was a death sentence. Nor did they seem to have basic medical training that would permit them to be appropriate for the position ). I just called for an emergency euthanasia for a separate animal, either via appointment or home visit... they were unable to accompany, seemed shocked that I would request recommendations... and then the secretary was like " what do you expect? We are the only veterinarian clinic in the area... so of course we're booked out" ... this is what you get when you hire paper pushers! Not people who are actually medically trained with a bedside manner... If we were to treat human patients in the same manner, this office would get shut down... the owner /head v veterinarian is welcome to reach out... after all, it is the doctor's name on the practice, and they are responsible for overseeing their staff I'm sorry if it's not obvious, then hire additional staff!! if you need additional vets and techs to serve the volume of clients in your area... then do so!! (if this doctors office served humans, they would've been shut down, ... because doctors, who swear to hippa cannot turn down emergency patients ) choosing to maintain a monopoly over the market in the area and be selective with your clients, is illegal and immoral.... I would be happy to edit my review once they are able to meet the basic needs of the clientele Update: the office called back, apologized for the confusion, stated that they would never postpone emergency visits like those described in the post, requested my dog's medical records, and promised to get me in this afternoon, following the vet surgery schedule or the following day at the latest... I just called back and the receptionist gave me the " I'm sorry I don't know who told you that, but we're fully booked out.." I really do not appreciate liars. Disappointing beyond belief. (Edit for clarification: I was not offered an appointment until after I posted the review... then when I called back to schedule the appointment as requested, the receptionist had zero availability. I'm not sure if there was a miscommunication between the owner and staff... but I have experience training medical practices to implement new procedures and expedite patient visits without minimizing, security or safety... there is plenty of room for improvement at this practice and Im glad to hear they are actively looking for new employees... from my understanding, the market is currently flooded with qualified candidates looking for jobs... so getting applicants should not be difficult . Tammy Eichman killed my dog. She had been on prednisone for four weeks and developed a mass in her mouth. I took her to see her on June 11,2024 to be checked for the mass in her mouth, when she was weighed she had lost four pounds since her visit a month prior. While I was waiting in the waiting room I retracted her fur on her right side while I was petting her and I noticed that she was purplish from her shoulder to her haunch on her right side. I mentioned this to the Technician when she came in and she made note of it. When Dr. Eichminn came in I expressed my concern and asked for a complete blood panel. She examined my dog. Came back with lab results and told me everything looked normal but that she was going to review my dog's last chest X-Rays and call me in the morning. I left and we went home. I always fed my dog small meals every six hours because she was an extra large breed and I wanted to prevent bloat. When I fed her and took her out for her 1:00 am feeding she had diarrhea. At 7:00 am she refused food. She had never refused food in the nine years that I had had her. I knew that something was seriously wrong so I called Countryside at 8:00 am and told them I was very concerned and that I thought she might be in pain because she was panting a lot. I asked them if I could get her to eat if I could give her a rymadyl. She asked Dr. Eichmann and she said yes. I tried for a couple of hours but was unable to get her to eat anything so I called back and requested an appointment the earliest they could get me in was 4:00. During that appointment Dr Eichman took chest X-Rays and diagnosed my dogs last with pneumonia and prescribed what she said was a very strong antibiotic and told me to take her home and put her on a cool floor with a fan on her, and give her more antibiotics in four hours and if she got worse take her to the ER. What she failed to mention was that my dogs had a near fatal fever of 105.8. 106.0 being fatal. I took her home and did as instructed. Obviously, my dog got worse. Weighing 155 pounds there was no way to get her back in the car to take her to the ER, she suffered and died that night at 11:48 pm. I reported Dr. Eichmann to Oregon Veterinary Medical Board and they are disciplining her. I would never recommend this Veterinary Clinic to anyone. They had plenty of time to check me out and take my money after hours but not the compassion or decency to try to cool my dog off and try to save her life or even refer me to the ER. Dr. Eichman might as well have locked my dog in car on a hot summer day or just put a bullet in her head. She gave her no chance of survival. When I received my dog's medical records and discovered what she had done and confronted her she lied and said 106.0 wasn't fatal and that we discussed me taking her to emergency. So not only is she a lousy veterinarian she's a liar. When I moved up here in 2022 from California my dog was in excellent health. From the time she started being treated by Countryside they never could figure out what was wrong with her they just kept throwing antibiotics at her. When we were in California her old Vet used to sit on the floor with her and scratch her and examine every inch of her. Dr. Eichman and her staff were always standoffiish and cold with her. She hated going there. I even started taking her to Bailey's in Roseburg for awhile. I wish I had never stopped. She would probably still be alive. read more

I am so thankful to have Countryside as our family Vet. We live a half an hour away and all the veterinary clinics have been booked. Countryside made every effort to ensure our kitten and dog were seen and cared for. Their staff is knowledgeable, caring, and really go above and beyond. Their prices are affordable, not once did we feel taken advantage of. Finding the right veterinarian is like finding the right doctor for yourself. While traveling through Oregon in our truck/camper Ouzel, one of our Feists, became violently ill. We did an internet search to find the nearest veterinarian and located this clinic. They quickly accommodated us on a very busy Saturday. Dr. Tammy Eichmann, DVM (practice owner) and her crew were amazing! They were compassionate, caring and took wonderful care of Ouzel. They did blood tests to be sure that all organs were functioning, gave her prescriptions for her extreme gastrointestinal distress (I'll not provide further supporting details ), provided probiotics and injected fluids to replace those she had lost. They even trimmed her toenails. All of this was done for a very reasonable price. Dr. Tammy also provided us with contact information for a 24-hour animal hospital in the next town where we would be staying. She followed up with a phone call on Monday to be sure that Ouzel was recovering. I'm happy to report that she's doing great and is back to her former feisty self. I hope you never find yourself in this situation while traveling anywhere near Canyonville, OR but if you do, feel confident in the care your furry family member will receive at this clinic. I took my puppy to this Veterinarian business. At the time I wasn't alarmed but later I found that the new vet I saw misinformed me regarding a medication prescribed for her. My puppy was diagnosed with Coccidia. I normally want my girl to use the least toxic treatments as possible. So I specifically asked the vet if the RX he was prescribing was an antibiotic, (Albon) and he replied NO, that it was an antiparasidic. When I followed up with my babies Holistic Vet I learned that Albon is in fact an antibiotic and that he would never use an antibiotic for Coccidia, that he rarely ever treats Coccidia, that it just runs the cycle w/o any treatment at all. I was charged $225.00 for a treatment that wasn't needed plus I exposed toxins to my small girl which I absolutely didn't want. This was very off putting to say the least. read more

After 2 expensive and useless blood panels, nothing was discovered for sure about what made my dog sick, and husband was sent home with antibuotic pills for dog. Dog is still not eating or drinking water, and is dehydrated. No antibiotic shot was given to help dog start to perk up, nor were any fluids given, so dog may actually be able to take prescribed pills. This is the third useless experience I have had with this vet clinic, and I'm unsure what to because my dog is still not drinking water or eating and I don't have any fluids to give him subQ myself. I have pilled him, so antibiotics round has started, (a whole month's worth of antibiotics for something undiagnosed?!?!) I would have walked out of this appointment if I'd been there myself. I could have saved myself almost $400 and given my dog the same treatment at home (I have antibiotics at home). 3rd bad experience with this vet clinic. And now I doesn't have enough money left to take dog to emergency clinic if dog won't drink fluids by tomorrow, day 3, almost no fluids (and only peeing drops, 3 or 4, when trying to pee). I'm going to try pedialyte in a syringe to hydrate my dog orally, and every moment I'm doing it I'm going to ask myself what did this vet even do for my dog? read more

Two incorrect life threatening diagnosis for my dog. First, he had an instenstine obstruction and they said he was just bloated - which led to surgery, we are lucky he survived that one. This time around we thought he had a tear in his back leg, the doctor thought the same after looking at his x-rays, told us it was a simple surgery. Took him to another vet, turns out he has bone cancer that was breaking the femur from the inside out - resulting in my dogs leg being amputated. They were rude when we (and another doctor) asked for the x-rays to get a second opinion. We will never bring one of our pets here again. read more

One of my foster care providers took one of our cats into this clinic on July 6, 2018 for a general check up, test for FiV/FeLV, and rabies vaccine. The clinic refused to provide a rabies vaccine certificate as requested, at the time of the visit. I have personally been in touch with the clinic on multiple occasions. The first call, I was told "send us a request and we'll get that right out to you." I sent an email with a request for the rabies certificate. That email was ignored. I sent a follow up email several days later. That email, also, was ignored. I called and was told I would receive a return call. That call never came. I called again and the person answering was extremely rude, talked over me repeatedly, assumed to know rescue/adoption rules and laws (of which that person was incorrect), and then hung up on me. I called again and asked for the person in charge. I was left on hold for over 20 minutes before hung up on before a human even spoke to me. I have yet to receive any legal proof of the cat's vaccine though it has been requested several times. This leaves 2 options for a rescue cat - to keep her in rescue for a full year until it's time to get her next rabies vaccine or vaccinate her again - putting her at risk of vaccine related injury due to over vaccination. As of now, this cat is not eligible for adoptions because there is no legal proof that she received the vaccine. Her only hope is that by taking the receipt/record from that visit to a local vet, maybe I can get the documentation that she's required to have. Very poor business practice, very untrained front office staff, and very unprofessionally ran business. EDIT: I did finally receive a document with the cat's vaccine history, but still not a rabies certificate after all of the above run around and BS. Also note during my conversation with the rude one, she asked who I had spoken to that said to send an email request. When I told her, she said nobody works there by that name. When I called back, the person with that name is who answered the phone. The rude person also told me the clinic owner is away this week and is male .. "He is away". I have since found out that the clinic owner is female. If the clinic is not set up to print rabies certificates for whatever reason (which I have since found out from other Oregon vets is not the case - if they can print one for a dog, they can print one for a cat) that wouldn't irritate me the way this run around, rudeness, and outright dishonesty has done. Why not just say that at the beginning and be done with it, instead of "send us a request" or "we'll call you right back to get that info to you" and then being extremely rude and dishonest when my patience runs out. It's easy enough to say "we can't provide that, I'm sorry" and doing that would not hurt their business in any way. Dishonesty and disrespect though ... that is not ok. Not now, not ever. read more

We can not say enough about how great Dr. Eichman and her staff is! We had a very sick puppy needing emergency surgery for an abdominal obstruction and she was treated in such a timely manner with so much care and concern by all. We were also treated that way even though we were bothering them many times a day with calls and visits. They treated us as well as our puppy. Wanted to take them back to our home town. We will miss them and cannot thank them enough for saving our little love. read more
