The Grand Rapids World of Winter event 2025 brought me to a lecture, "creating outside your craft"…read moreby Mark Schentzel. This was being held at the establishment of downtown Grand Rapids that I am reviewing now. I would like to mention that this historic building was designed by Solon S. Beman and completed in 1892. Even has been the site of many important events in Grand Rapids history, including a campaign speech by Vice President Theodore Roosevelt in 1900. The Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. (DGRI) is the organization responsible for city building and place-management in the urban core of the City of Grand Rapids, Michigan. There is a parking garage across the way. Everyone who attended were provided a voucher for attending the event so I was able to park for free. This lecture highlighted If you ever wanted to learn the how to creating sculpture and public art this was the event to see. I have never been to this building. Walking up to it was a sight. Clean, classic and very well decorated. I was greeted promptly when I entered and given a tour of the establishment. Loved the mural painted on the wall by Ten Finger Fish. The facility was clean, well lit and had a comfortable layout. The lecture took place in the back of the building. The space was lovely and a perfect fit for the night. Glad I was able to volunteer to help, and attend this event.

This review is for the kiosk…read more My son and I drove to the Rogers Plaza location. We got there about 8:30 am and there was a line of people waiting outside the door. We see in the seating area a kiosk that ask if renewing plates. We walk up to it punch in a few numbers that were on the red form you get in the mail, then it printed a new registration card with sticker on it. The was easy and quick. We walked up no waiting in line and we're done in less then 3 mins literally. Only downside was the 12-15 people who got their early and sitting waiting in line patiently saw how quick and easy this went for my son and I. Like we cut the line A good thing was the 12-15 people who got there early also got to see how easy it was to renew tags. #Every1wins Also the kiosk needs a credit card for payment.

I called and a wonderful person named Heather, searched and finally found the package in Atlanta, Georgia. She worked to get it redirected and it arrived today! YAY!! Zeeland Post Office is a great example of small town friendliness and helpfulness!

I think this is a nice post office, and a good place to get stamps. They do seem a little short…read morestaffed but that's the new normal for the USPS. I recently came back from some international travels and I'm one of the few people who still send postcards. Postcards I send from USA locations: 100% delivery within a couple of days. Postcards I send from anywhere else in the world: 80% or less within two weeks. Kentwood is a part of the best postal service in the world. But it's also an inefficient government bureaucracy run by Congress and an appointee whose job was to destroy operations. From what I've seen, the people working here on the front lines are nice and competent.

Love love love the library. All of the staff are so kind and helpful. They host so many wonderful…read moreevents for the public and have so many resources that you may not even realize! You can rent things like records, video games, and they have even had tickets for local experiences or attractions. The library is such a necessary community space. Definitely sign up for the summer reading program, it's open to all ages.

I visit this branch weekly, as it's the closest to my house. It's not a huge library, but it's…read morebigger than some of the other nearby branches and the employees are so friendly and helpful. There's ample parking with two lots, and it's right by a bus stop. One of my favorite things about this branch is the whiteboard near the entrance, which always lets me know what "Day" it is (something fun/silly like "national don't be scared of bugs day") and has a fun prompt. One of my favorite prompts recently was, "which medieval cat are you?" and had several different printouts of medieval cats in varying stages of terror. It always makes me smile and I like reading what other people write for each prompt. The new book shelves are always full of great selections, and I love the staff picks table, where I often find something new to me to read. I utilize the library's printer on a monthly basis (you can print up to 50 pages per week for free) and it's easy to send documents from home that you can then release when you arrive. Just be sure to only send things to the printer during open hours! The drive up book drop is nice, and it checks in your books as you drop them into the chute. I do sometimes wish they had the after hours hold lockers like I've seen at other branches. I love GRPL!
