I honestly can't believe that I have to write this review - I was excited to use a local business when I needed to send birthday flowers to my friend in Mays Landing. I placed my order directly on thier website on a Monday - requesting a delivery for Saturday. They delivered a day early...which wasn't a big deal - though it would've been nice for them to be delivered ON her birthday as requested. Upon receiving the image of the arrangement from the recipient, I was heartbroken. I ordered a pastel themed arrangment that boasted Stargazer lilies and roses and received a bouquet in "brights" featuring Carnations and Daisies!! Needless to say, I immediately reached out to County Seat to find out what happened. My interaction with John, the owner, was quite "challenging" from the start. He left a me a very defensive voicemail when returning my call (before I even spoke to him). When I returned his call, all he wanted to do was tell me I was wrong...his comments were often hypocritical/incorrect and he didn't listen to what I was saying. Instead he continued to tell me that what they sent was great! He even said "if I'd seen the order, I would never have taken it b/c it said no substitutions" yet, they took the order and filled it poorly. He also said if they need to substitute flowers, they still keep the color scheme (which they did not!) He then offered to go "pick up the bouquet" but NOT give me a refund!! I calmly explained that I was very dissatisfied and felt that he was saying all this stuff before even seeing what was sent...so I offered to send him a side by side image of what was ordered vs what was sent. That was on Sat 4/10/21...it is now Tues, 4/13/21 and I've never heard back from him at all. I've followed up twice on e-mail with no response. So, yeah, I guess I'm out $55 (pre delivery charge) for carnations and daisies. read more

This is my favorite flower shop in Atlantic County! John and Jennifer are great business owners and deeply "rooted" in the Mays Landing community. Their shop is ALWAYS beautifully decorated for the seasons, inside and out, and they motivate other Main Street businesses to do the same. I've purchased bouquets of roses, floral arrangements in vases, potted plants, and decorations for my garden from County Seat Florist over the years. Amanda is a great asset to the store and she often represents County Seat Florist at various local events. They always have a presence at the MLMA events such as the Fall Festival and Hometown Celebration. They even had a kiosk in the Hamilton Mall for awhile last year. I'm never disappointed when I buy flowers here. The only constructive criticism I have for John is to consider getting the power of the internet on his side, from social media to a website redesign. His site is through a third party service but the result is zero branding recognition, no control over the website, and low traffic due to no digital marketing. I think it would benefit County Seat Florist greatly if the website was revamped and managed in-house or by a local digital media and marketing company. County Seat Florist recently made the list of "High Potential examples of Mays Landing NJ Website Design" based on a town-wide analysis, and I'd love to see them finally take the reigns to expand their local business using the internet! I just ordered my third arrangement in 2 years from Count Seat. And every time, they have delivered on time, with beautiful fresh flowers. I've used the 800-flowers types of services in the past with incredible disappointment. Those services ship in a UPS box which can sit in a loading dock for a day before getting to the destination. Each time I call, I have a bouquet from the website, but then I make changes to make it more personal. And without issue they accommodate all my personalizations with exactly what I want. The prices are very affordable and they have been able to take orders for the same day. Personal tip I always call 2+ days in advance to make sure there's plenty of time for me and for them. But when I call, they are ready for a same day delivery. So its good to know that in case I forget until the last minute, they seem ready to help. (I haven't forgotten yet, so I cant give personal experience to this.) read more

We had County Seat Florist do the flowers for our wedding and it all came out so beautiful! Absolutely incredible experience, my highest recommendation to anyone considering doing their flowers here. Our wedding was an Art Deco 1920s/1930s theme and I asked for rather specific bouquets. Amanda and John were so wonderful to work with, I gave them a basic idea of the flowers and bouquet styles I liked (calla lilies, various other white lilies in a cascading bouquet) and they came up with the most beautiful designs. The owner of this establishment is absolutely rude. I visited this shop a few years back to inquire about flowers for my wedding and felt that i had bothered the woman with my inquiries. She threw a few books at me and walked away and the albums looked to be at least 10 years old. I decided to go with another florist but a few years later, as I live close by and try to do business with locally owned establishments, I gave it another try to get flowers for my mom. There was a younger woman working and she was delightful and made a beautiful bouquet. Recently my grandmother passed away and I went back again to find the owner there. She was again so rude. Never offering condolences and complaining that I wasn't giving her enough notice for the arrangement. Then she argued with me when i asked for the flowers to be changed from red to white stating that thats not how it is typically done but my grandmother did not like red roses. I finally left and it will definitely be my last visit to this florist. I dont think anyone really plans their death so i was really taken back when she complained about the amount of time i was asking for the arrangement. I hope she thinks twice about the way she would wanted to be treated when interacting with her customers. read more

Follow up phone call to owner, "John" I explained my displeasure with the execution of my phone order. I reiterated that I had specified a style and price range and had asked specifically if that was possible in the price range I specified. Apparenlty the order taker did not write down what I had said and it became my fault that the "beautiful flowers" sent were not what I had asked for. I was told that the recepient had to have thought the flowers were "beautiful" and that every one in the shop that saw the arrangment said they were beautiful. I don't care if they were "BEAUTIFUL" the arrangment was not what I had gone out of my way to order. In fact the flowers included the varieities abvailable at any grocery store including carnations, daisies, tulips, snapdragons. The owner's solution was "to pick up that flowers that were sent". Very rude undertone to conversation. And in essence I was challeneged to a retail game of chicken.....he wanted me to come up with the solution instead of him offering the right thing to do....refund my money or re send an appropraite arrangement. read more
