We were served a starter of a croquet of bread adorned with a very delicious chopped fish mixed with seasoning, capers and olive oil. It was visually appealing and delicious. The second course was a beautiful fresh mixed salad of greens with green goddess dressing adorned with pine nuts, It was delicious! Our main dish was not only visually pleasing but the portions and meal were excellent. The lamb was perfectly seasoned, cooked and served over polenta and an amazing snap peas purée and gently sautéed pea tendrils. We had a lovely Malbec to accompany the main course. Finally the dessert was served it was delicious, it was a formed dense mousse like chocolate served atop were puréed raspberry and topped with sliced strawberries. We hosted our daughter's wedding welcome party at The Manor House at Pleasant Beach Village, and…read moreunfortunately our experience was significantly diminished by both a major service failure during the event and, even more disappointing, the way management handled our concerns afterward. For an event of approximately 120 guests, our agreement included two full bars - one in the solarium and one in the Manor House. However, the second bar in the Manor House was never opened. As a result, there was only one functioning bar for the entire event, and the lines became extremely long. This was not a minor inconvenience. Guests spent a significant amount of time waiting for drinks, and I later learned that my husband--the father of the bride--did not have a single drink during the entire evening because he did not want to spend the celebration standing in the bar line. This was our daughter's wedding weekend. It was a once-in-a-lifetime event, and there is no opportunity to go back and redo it. To the venue's credit, they acknowledged that the second bar should have been open and removed the charge associated with that bar from our invoice. However, refunding a service that was never provided does not undo the impact the failure had on the event itself. What ultimately changed my impression of the venue, however, was how management handled a subsequent billing issue. Our final payment was late, and a 5% late fee of approximately $685 was assessed. I want to be very clear: I acknowledged that I had not carefully reviewed the contract and had not been aware of the late-fee provision. I was not arguing that the contract did not contain a late fee. What made the $685 fee even more troubling was learning that it had been calculated before crediting the substantial amount we had already paid toward the event, rather than on the remaining unpaid balance. Because the contract states that the 5% fee applies to the "amount due," I questioned that calculation as well. Separately, I explained that my husband had developed serious and unexpected health problems immediately following the wedding and that our family had been overwhelmed dealing with medical appointments and his diagnosis. I asked whether, given the circumstances, our prior payments, the substantial amount we had spent on the event, and the venue's acknowledged service failure, they would consider waiving the fee as a one-time courtesy. They refused. I then asked that the request be reviewed by management. Management again refused and characterized maintaining the initial 5% fee rather than allowing it to increase later as providing us with "grace." That response was extraordinarily disappointing. I fully understand that businesses have contracts and payment policies. But there is also a difference between having the contractual right to impose a charge and choosing whether to exercise discretion when a customer explains an extraordinary family circumstance--particularly when that same business failed to provide a material service it had contracted to provide during an irreplaceable wedding event. We ultimately paid the invoice in full. What has stayed with me most is not the money. It is the lack of any meaningful flexibility or willingness to exercise discretion once a problem arose. After spending a substantial amount with this venue for one of the most important weekends in our family's life, I expected a very different level of customer care. Prospective clients should know that our experience during the event did not match what we contracted for and, when we later asked management for reasonable consideration under extremely difficult personal circumstances, none was extended. For us, that has profoundly changed how we view The Manor House and Pleasant Beach Village.

Any time access - Staffed hours are 8am to 5pm M-F but as a member you're able to get an app with virtual keys for 24/7 access. 4. Outdoor space - Centennial Park is right behind the building and has a walking loop over a small creek along with a few benches when I need to get some fresh air in between Zoom calls. 5. Reciprocity - As an independent coworking spot, you get access to a network called the League of Extraordinary Coworking Spaces (lexc.co) which entitles you to free, full-day coworking passes at any of the LEXC locations, up to 5 times per space, per year. So far I've used this benefit for meetings across the Sound in Seattle, as well as San Francisco and Washington, DC. Bonus points: you get a Vibe discount from the coffee shop downstairs (Chocmo) which has some great food and chocolate to go with the caffeinated beverages :) TL;DR - I would highly encourage anyone to swing by and see the space at Vibe. It turned out to be exactly what I needed when I needed it most while interviewing last year, and has continued to be an even more important space for meeting my need for connection and community to avoid the isolation that can come with remote work.

However, towards the end of our trip, my wife came across Vibe while on a walk, and I knew I needed to take advantage of a coworking space for my next work day. My last planned work day while I was in town happened to be on the first Friday of August, which is "Free 1st Friday" at Vibe. Though I've experienced a handful of coworking facilities across the country, I was honestly very impressed with this facility, and incredibly pleased with my experience. The space co-exists quite harmoniously with the other retailers and restaurants in the building; evidenced by the fact that Vibe closes an hour early on Friday to head next door to Crabtree for free hors d'oeuvre, networking, and a cash bar; available only to Vibe coworkers! Many coworking facilities are dominated by private offices, leaving the common space without much energy. Vibe's shared space was buzzing with activity, yet there were tons of enclaves and more secluded areas that I could use whenever I needed to break away for whatever reason. I was even able to score a second monitor to use with my laptop, which always helps during a day with a heavy workload. The snacks were many, the amenities were plentiful, and the whole place swarmed with a quiet but energizing productivity. During my 8 hours at the facility, there wasn't a single area available to me that I didn't utilize or explore, including the outdoor space, complete with a beautiful view from the second story deck of the building. I love my coworking space back in my hometown; but Vibe is genuinely impressive, and I will most certainly be back again the next time I'm in town. Alanna, the owner, was remarkably kind; making me feel comfortable, cared for, and right at-home from the moment I came in the door. I could not more highly recommend this place!

My only regret is that I didn't hire her to coordinate the entire event.
