There's also a tangent part of the trail that travels uphill all the way up to the Harrison Medical Center. There's a variety of terrain and visual interest for walkers or runners alike. There's wetlands, ponds, a dog park, a skate park, Puget Sound waterfront views, rugged beaches, a 1950s industrial saw, a red barn interpretative center, wildlife.... Its an a la carte trail system that could be walked or ran in portion or in its entirety. Its still being improved by the county but is being shaped into a gem of a trail system! According to Lindsey from Utah, homeless took over this park at least three months ago. People visiting from out of state are getting a bad impression of our community, as am I. The rules clearly state closed at sunset.  We would appreciate it if the Parks Department would enforce the rules, so we could enjoy the park we are paying for.

An overcast and drippy morning...excellent weather for getting out. I just love this trail. I have watched various wetlands restorations here over the years and always thought this was being performed by volunteers. I don't think that is the case with the current projects. Quite a number of heavy equipment, and large areas being worked. Very nice to see. The paths are all clearly marked, and easy for most people to walk. Plus they have tables and benches along the trail should you want or need to catch your breath. So, go enjoy this beauty.

This park is actually very beautiful for a sunny day stroll around Silverdale. The park has a…read moremixture of paved trails with some dirt offloading through the open field and over the pond. You can see everything from River otters, ducks, geese, and the occasional deer and rabbits on the trail. The park is also connected to the dog park so after your furry friends are done playing in the park, you can wear them out more on the trail. My only grip is that pet owners need to learn to take their poop bags all the way to the garbage instead of leaving them along the trail for others to take care of. Other than that, this is a great family trail!

Just came here for an event last weekend and cars were parking three-deep, completely blocking in cars in the middle. Imagine one of those folks needing to leave, only to find they're boxed in by half a dozen vehicles. Parking in the grass, parking on planted tree-filled areas, parking in handicap spaces with no pass. The unfortunate truth is that the Fairgrounds was built for a smaller population in Kitsap. All the growth with no change in infrastructure to support it. Sigh...
