This is a very good small shop. There's no pretenses, just a very good selection for the size of the shop and helpful advice. In contrast, there's another shop a block away where the shopkeeper has no idea how to care for cigars and doesn't smoke them. read more

I have purchased cigars in Chicago, Reston, San Diego, Miami, Providence and numerous other spots. I consider Courthouse Cigar Company as my hometown cigar shop and provide me the best value around. The staff is always friendly and helpful, recommending new options for my particular interests. When we could travel, it was always nice to explore far away places and enjoy a smoke, but it's always nice to be able to come home and have my favorites available when I want a premium cigar. read more

Stopped in because it was the closest place to grab a couple cigars. Decent selection, but things are kinda hard to find. The shop is awkwardly small, and the regulars that were sitting around were giving me the evil eye the entire time, as if just because I'm in my 20's I don't know anything about cigars. Being 5 minutes from where I live is really the only upside. That and they carry what I normally smoke, which not every shop does. Charged about 2 dollars more than I normally pay though. read more

I stopped in here a few times when I was 18 to pick up some cigars for golfing, and the sales people were always polite, but it was never anything more to m. Recently, I've decided I want to start smoking pipes - after some research I decided that the best place to start was with a corncob pipe. I looked on yelp and realized it was the closest place, but I was a little nervous after reading the reviews; I had absolutely no reason to be, so PLEASE BE AT EASE! I walked in and there were several people working there (2 women, 1 man) and a few of the old guys hanging out the others mention. They were awesome in helping me get my corncob pipe, directing me to some good starting tobacco, advice in what to look for if I ever choose to upgrade, and got me a pipe tool as well. Total price - $21. I was VERY pleasantly surprised at how helpful and nice the people were (especially to a 20 year old kid buying some cheap stuff), and will definitely mark this as my go-to spot from now on. read more

I usually don't smoke cigars nor am I an aficionado, but supposedly the prices here are competitive with a good selection. I brought some Macanudos and Montecristos (I hope I spelled those correctly!) here, good cigars can easily cost $20 each! It's a small shop and sometimes when I drive by, I'll see some old-timers smoking and reading the newspaper inside. Parking is limited on a busy street, or you can park in the lot of the Japanese restaurant. read more

Great spot and friendly woman working the counter. They have the widest selection of any place near Boston, and they carried my favorite PG's, which are difficult to find. I don't care who owns it, this place has anything you'll need and the prices were in line according to what I saw. read more

I don't smoke cigars, but I knew the man that owned this shop. He would always leave the empty wooden cigar boxes on the sidewalk for people to take. some of them are very neat and can be painted, decorated and given as gifts. Almost all the other cigar or smoke shops I've been to always sell the boxes. The fact that this cigar shop gives them away is very nice and all the people that worked there were interesting to talk to :) read more

For those who comment about prices - this place is lower than many .... and you can blame our government for the taxes that make it this ridiculous. Huge disappointment. We scouted a cigar lounge in advance of our trip so my husband and friend could have a cigar before we went to the Patriots game. The shop has a very strong odor of fresh cigar smoke with a very comfortable seating area equipped with ashtrays and magazines. One would assume that is so people can sit and have a cigar in the cigar lounge. This is a mistaken assumption. They were told that they couldn't smoke their cigars there because "lots of women come in to buy cigars for their husbands and they complain about the smell" so, at least for that day and that employee, there was to be no cigar smoking. So, if you decide to go to this place, I would suggest calling in advance and finding out if it is a "women shopping for their husbands" day. read more

I have purchased cigars from courthouse many times over the 5 years and they seem like a nice outfit. They have a nice enough selection, and I was able to find whatever I wanted. It might be that cigars were a buck more than I expected, but I am finding cigar prices in general to be going higher and higher fairly quickly - gone are the days when you can get a nice $5 smoke. Now it's $6.50-$8 and like it or not get over it as gas isn't $3 a gallon either! Yes it's a small shop, but I find service is friendly, and pretty nice. I just called them about pipes and the woman Darcy was kind enough to answer some of my rookie pipe questions, and also tells me if I came to the store tomorrow, that a very knowledgeable pipe guy would be working there and he would be helpful. Sure - online purchasing is cheaper, but you don't get service there and I think supporting your local outfit and at the least, getting cigars locally every now and then is a great thing to do, as I learned most of what I know about cigars talking with aficionados working behind the counter. Parking can be tricky but I always park at the empty building across the street or right out in front, so that is not a big issue. Support your local Tobacconist! read more

Great place, nice people. Staff is friendly and welcoming, simple as that. A note though, the town of Dedham in which this place is located recently raised the age to buy tobacco to 21 years old. read more

Being a fairly new cigar smoker, and only having had a single cheap cigar (or two) every few years in the past, I tried this store and enjoyed the place. They have what seems to be a decent selection and pricing seems only slightly above (by a buck or two) the few other places I've shopped. The gentleman behind the counter was able to answer any questions I had and was very polite and friendly. I will definitely shop there again. read more
