Reasonably good visit, came in alone from out of town. Seems to be the biggest cigar place in local area. Salesperson was very friendly, there was an impressive variety, but prices higher than I've seen most places around the US due to an onerous state tax. Supported shop, bought a $10 cigar. Enjoyed it in the "lounge", which is a minimal back room with no windows, yet I'm glad they have SOME lounge. Flatscreen tv also. Learned that, due to another oppressive local rule, not allowed to smoke out in the retail area. Felt sort of like a communist country. Finished up outside. Parking sort of limited, off a busy highway, not really a scenic view. Posted a few photos, see what I mean. They are doing what they can, so support them. Seems BYOB, small coffee counter in lounge, noted $8 cutting fee if you bring your own cigars. read more

Best smoke shop in town. Great selection and knowledgeable staff makes this the place for new and tenured smokers alike. The smoking lounge in the back is the perfect place to relax with a nice cup of coffee (complimentary fresh ground coffee) a fine cigar and a decent group of guys. Keep up the great work. read more

I have only been here once, but I had a great experience. Wonderful selection of cigars. After a brief discussion of my preferences, the staff member recommended a Herrera Esteli by Drew Estate and a Fume D'Amour. I enjoyed both, and will definitely purchase the Herrera Esteli again. I have to say I *want* to say watch city is a good place since its local and they have a pretty good selection. But they fall completely flat when it comes to customer service and offering any good advice, other than what they want to sell you. The "advice" becomes more of a lecture and not about your preferences.....and after dealing with two people in the shop, it seemed that they were both cut from the same mold and it was their club. Overall I was disappointed in a shop that has some great potential. My advice to those looking at this, find another shop that will work with you to find what you are looking for and believes in Customer Service. read more

am i a fan? well maybe not completely, but they get the job done, case in point: so after my so so experience at jacks in watertown, i figured id drop by here to sniff around, glad i did, cause they knew their stuff. I wanted a beginners pipe/tobacco and any info they had for me as to how to use/load, etc. first off i explained i wasnt too sure about the screen thing, the guy had a chuckle at i suppose my expense as he asked me what i was planning on smoking out of the pipe! no seeds in tobacco, so youd be ok without any screens he says smirking. i chuckled in my head too as i was thinking, who smokes seeds anyways? ok, well anyway, they set me up with a starter pipe and some medium grade pipe tobacco, i figured, i work in higher ed, i should start smoking a pipe. well 26 bucks later i have a once used pipe, some nice tobacco in the freezer and no will to actually use the pipe nor the tobacco. maybe when i hit 50... they did have an enormous selection of both pipe tobaccos, cigars and natural cigs, if thats your thing. a bit more expensive then CVS, but you know what, the service people knew their stuff so i guess thats worth it for the first time. read more

This is THE BEST tobacco shop I have ever been to. The staff is VERY knowledgable, and if they don't have it, you more-than-likely don't need it. It's really as simple as that. All of the walls are lined with floor to ceiling humidors, and they are stocked full all the time. Single sticks to factory sealed boxes. A wide variety of cigarette tobacco for rolling your own, an entire glass case full of mid-grade to premium tobacco pipes. Here's the best part; they have over 15 in house pipe tobacco blends, hand blended on premises, plus a great selection of tins from all the major brands. As far as advice and suggestions go, they really know what they are talking about. If you don't like the answer, then you aren't liking the truth. All the suggestions and recommendations they've made to me have never failed me. The prices are unbeatable for Mass, and with that you get a knowledgeable sales staff, unbeatable product selection, and just an overall welcoming environment. Very helpful for tobaccos. For rolling papers,they have one that really good. I wish they some more "raw" items. Other then that, they have good stuff Made in Europe that for my personal opinion always appreciate goods from Europe. read more

This place is absolutely packed with goodies. They have a fantastic selection of humidors, pipes, accessories, and tons and tons of cigars, everything from absolute schwag to really expensive amazing sticks. They carry super-large gauge sticks, too, - 60+ which I had never seen in person before. All my favorites were there, and some things I had never seen at my local cigar shop. Also, they have a ton of different pipe tobacco blends, and the most canned/tinned tobacco I have ever seen (I don't smoke that myself, though). I got one of the house blends to try out. The only reason I'm holding out on giving a five star rating is that they are more expensive than my local shop, which I thought was pricey to begin with. At least, the prices for the sticks I was interested in were generally 10 - 20% higher than what I'm used to paying. I suspect that if I had been there on a day when the proprietors were there, I might have gotten better pricing. Since I was there on a sort of off day, there was no real interaction with staff to speak of. Just one guy working the register who did not seem very happy to be there. But that's probably abnormal, and it seems like a lot of people really like the guys that run the place. read more

Form day 1, which was at least 5 years ago, i have thoroughly enjoyed the selection, prices, and staff at WCC. Barry and Ernie are always on top of new cigars and very knowledgeable about all the cigars, pipes, and tobacco they carry. I recommend this shop to all cigar smokers, seasoned or rookie smokers. They also have a nice back room with comfortable leathers chairs and a couch to relax in while you watch the plasma screen hanging on the wall or relax with one of the many magazines. I would just like to add that I have never met a nicer group of people than the ones that frequent this place. From ditch diggers to doctors, there is always polite, pleasant conversation. read more

Great cigar shop. They do have some very good boutique brands. I'm not an expert on cigars, BUT THEY ARE!!! I like that I can tell the staff what I like and they are knowledgeable enough to point me in the right direction. They have introduced me some great cigars. They have a smoking room that is outfitted with leather chairs, a leather sofa, coffee bar and good size flat screen TV. The customers that use the room are always friendly and welcoming. This is a fun place to go..the staff is great..I highly recommend it. read more

I really like Watch City Cigar - the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. The selection is confined largely to the major brands, so you are unlikely to find some off-the-wall minor brand treasure but that's hardly a drawback. Highly recommended. read more
