I desperately needed a counselor because I could not handle the amount of anxious triggers I was encountering on a day to day basis caused by emotional trauma I endured in the past through out the time I grew up as a young teenager up until I was an adult. Every session I attended, she would listen, process the things I'd say, the things I'd felt, the things I'd gone through, and step by step, over time, she's helped reform my mental health to the healthiest state its been in years! I am now very happy in a loving relationship, finishing my current degree in school with one last semester remaining, and even continuing to pursue my own professional ventures in the world of tech! You see, we were in a suit with a security building I lived in, in which I had been a survivor of home invasion, and all that goes with that. I screamed , silently, quietly, that I needed help, something was seriously wrong. The next day I had an appointment, and I clearly remember being afraid to go in. Afraid that I would be told (or that others would tell me) I was crazy. Instead , she asked me if I wanted to know.... and cautiously , I said yes. The PTSD I was suffering from had almost immobilized me, but I wanted ME back, and Lynn walked me through that, for months, and then less and less. Even to the point of when the PD called to say they thought they had my attacker after almost 4 years, when I called her, she not only cleared her calendar for the next afternoon, in case I needed her after the line up... but told me she had seen on the news that a serial rapist/kidnapper had been caught and KNEW it was he.
