Normally we stay at the Renaissance in a suite but they were sold out so we tried Courtyard. Requested adjoining rooms but no guarantee. They made it work and that was a big relief. The customer service is outstanding and the entire hotel is up to date and clean. We had a small hiccup with our reservation to visit ACU and the front desk staff was so accommodating and went above and beyond for us. THANK YOU!! Everyone we came in contact that worked there were very welcoming and so sweet. They didn't make us feel like we were ever bothering them with our many questions. The pool was also open and we def enjoyed it. Our room was so nice and I absolutely loved the bathroom. This hotel also has a restaurant, bar, marketplace, business center and even a printer to print off boarding passes if needed. The location is perfect being barely 5 mins from ACU, dining and Walmart. I will def be staying here again when I come back to visit. read more

I think this is an example of my ideal hotel: great staff, quiet experience, clean room and everything is up to date with no maintenance problems. If every hotel experience was like this I would have to retire from Yelping! Staff at the front were always super nice and very responsive. Note that after getting your room card the elevator is at the end of the hall behind the bar to your right. Room was clean and roomy. The bathroom was just awesome. I only wish my bed faced the TV not the 1/2 window. It wouldn't fold all the way out so I felt like I was at the far left seat in a theater. The have breakfast which has both options of free buffet which is really good and buy what you want restaurant and a Starbucks There's also very nice laundry room to do your laundry in with 4 washing machine and 8 dryers. Ended up here for a baseball game the same week of graduation and everything was booked all over town. The front lady was so sweet and helpful. She got me a room last min and even gave us late check out. Place was clean and very comfortable. I would just recommend some air freshener it smelled just like a hotel room. The hotel inside is pretty deceiving, it's definitely a front. The hallways are old and outdated. The person who checked us in didn't ask for identification, then she didn't even direct us to the elevators. Apparently it's two hotels in one. When we walked back to the other side we went to our room and it was never cleaned. With covid you would think they'd be more cautious. There is no point of being a marriot envoy member, they just switched us rooms but that left a bad taste in my mouth. How does that happen? So disgusting. Definitely not worth $110 a night. read more

Rooms were clean and well supplied. The pool is huge & plenty of seating. The breakfast is amazingggg. It had us booking more nights. The breakfast staff is super helpful & friendly. The front desk was really nice & accommodating as well. Only complaint is a bit of a safety issue. First room we went to was occupied, they gave us a new room, but beware if you think to leave valuables or kids in the room for a second. Less trustworthy people could've taken advantage. read more

We decided to make a last minute trip to Lubbock for the Tech/UT game. We made a reservation at this hotel because it's halfway between Dallas and Lubbock. We knew we'd be too tired Friday night to make the 5 hour drive. There was no parking available when we got here. The lot is pretty tiny. We were forced to park on the street that was really dark and has no street lights. When we entered the hotel it looked nice. It was clearly a newer or newly remodeled hotel. We checked in and went to our room. Our room looked nice when we walked in till we really looked close at everything. The bathroom had black hair everywhere. There were long hairs stuck all over the tub and on the sink. When I walked into the bathroom barefoot one got stuck to my foot. So gross. I wouldn't have been as creeped out if we'd stayed there the day before and I didn't have blonde hair. We could then assume it was maybe from me. But no. We had just walked in and I have long blonde hair. I went to turn the light off before bed and noticed two giant boogers stuck to the wall. Who picks their nose and sticks it on the wall?!?! What is wrong with people? And why was this not cleaned off?? The walls are very thin. We could hear our neighbor playing music at 5:30am. I also heard our other neighbors alarm go off a good 6 times before they got up. The people above or below us slept with hr tv oh because I could hear it all night. I could even tell they were watching Love it or List it. That's how thin the walls/floors are. Overall I was not happy with this hotel. They really need to look into cleaning up after previous guests. I would not recommend staying here. read more

This was pit stop while I was driving across the US. The room was perfect and the service was exceptional. My only problem was booking the room through BonVoy. Since I am a member I like getting points. Too bad being a member doesn't always get the best prices. I had to book through a third party ie. Orbitz, Hotel.com. I don't care where I book as long as I can save but the rewards points would have been nice. I met Katy who is the regional director of sales and she checked me in. She said even though I booked through a third party I still get points. I never got any. For that the 5 stars dropped to 3. I will stay again. I hope next time I can book directly and get my points. Good to great service from the hotel. Newish interior. brand new Hooters about 100 yards away. Staff recognizes tiered members - so that was good. No issues at all - sorta wish they had free bfast but other options nearby. Burnt smell from kitchen sorta helped me with decision to go out. read more

We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriot in Abilene and got the best nights sleep ever!! The bed was so soft and comfortable, we didn't want to get up in the morning! We planned on having the free breakfast, but we ended up sleeping too late. The kitchen in the room was fully stocked with plenty of dishes and utensils and even included a toaster, coffee maker, bottle opener, can opener and a wine corkscrew! We will definitely stay here again! Thanks for making our trip so relaxing! I forgot to mention how fresh and clean the room smelled and looked. This was our first hotel stay in the covid-19 era. It didn't make us want to come back. Pros: hotel staff was almost all wearing masks (one youngish woman who was standing behind the barrier at the front desk wasn't) and common areas seemed clean. They have also converted to a grab-and-go breakfast. Cons: hairs in shower, and blinking bathroom light. We arrived really late after a couple of nights camping and didn't examine the shower carefully before hopping in to use it. By the time we saw the three not-us hairs, it didn't make any sense to request a new room. One of the bathroom lights started flickering in the morning, which may have just been bad luck. When we told the front desk about the hairs and the light in the morning, the staff member thanked us for letting her know. She was apologetic and said she wished she had her full housekeeping staff. On the one hand, these are difficult times for everyone (which is why I am giving two stars instead of one)--and something other than cleanliness would not have prompted me to write a review. On the other, the hairs made me wonder how clean the room actually was, which is a really big deal. We chose to stay in a Marriott because of the assurances on the Marriott website about cleanliness. This property didn't deliver on that promise, unfortunately. read more

The rooms here are nice. Parking is good. That's about it. I am in the road about 100 nights a year. This is my first time at this courtyard. I just took this area over. I just now switched to Marriott hotels, and have 53 nights since the first of April. This courtyard doesn't seem to care about the Gold Elite here. I stayed one night next door at the Residence Inn, they acknowledge you loyalty, with an automatic upgrade, and welcome gift. I didn't get anything here. I'm not trying to be a snob, but a bottle of water goes along way after a day of work and travel. Plus with the roadwork, the roads getting in and out of here are a pain in the butt. I get to set my own travel arrangements. I will be hard pressed to be back here. read more

This hotel is great! I only wish it had free breakfast!! There is a lot of stuff around it. You may need to use the shuttle they offer. Grounds are beautiful outside and the weather was amazing. Trying to enjoy reading and relaxing out by the pool but smokers ruin that!! The beds are super comfy and the pillows are fluffy and amazing! Towels are really soft. Probably why the soap doesn't come off your body because the water is so soft. But overall a great place to stay! read more

So much for Elite status. As nice as it is that you have my name on a sign welcoming me, it would be nicer if I didn't have to put my kids to bed with a protein bar for dinner because your restaurant manager is lazy. After 12 hours of travel with the whole family, kids sick and exhausted, called ahead to order from the restaurant as we knew we would arrive close to last call. Were assured by management we could order food when we arrived. Arrived exactly as planned, was told by the restaurant manager that she was closed. Not only was she not apologetic that she had decided to close 20 minutes early, she was downright nasty. How crazy of us, to expect the restaurant to be open at the posted hours! Definitely not up to Marriott standards. read more

I wish corporate would give this hotel better funding because the employees here are wonderful and try their hardest to meet demands. I ended up booking a King Suite for a weekend and my biggest issue was that I have stayed at similar hotels for the same price, but with better amenities available. Having worked in the business world for quite some time, I quickly recognized this as a funding issue and not a customer service problem. The staff works wonderfully with what they are provided and I would recommend that this particular branch get an increase in miscellaneous expenditures. This location has been open about 3 years and is beautifully maintained. After we were greeted warmly at the front desk, we were checked in promptly and then received water bottles and snacks to thank us for our Elite status. The lobby has the open Courtyard Bistro/bar concept with the addition of two extra spaces. There is a business/sitting area. Additionally there is a cheery fireplace with a quiet sitting area for conversation around the corner from the front desk. Our room was spacious with a large wall mounted LG tv, sofa with ottoman, desk and a fridge and micro enclosed in a cabinet so the room aesthetic is nice. The bedside lights, overhead dimmable lights and nightstand-mounted USB plug and outlet made relaxing pleasant and possible. The bathroom: spacious vanity top with a shelf below is a huge step up from all of the older non-updated Courtyards. The glass shower is enormous and obviously well-lit. No leaky soggy curtain to deal with. The enclosure is equipped with a shelf for all of your products and a low ledge for the ladies to shave legs. There is a clever little pass-through from the vanity into the shower for the bathroom amenities. So many of the details of the room seem to have been well thought out and made for a very nice overall experience. read more

The squeaky clean, brightly lighted, comfortably furnished facility pleased us immediately. How can the cleaning crew keep the expansive glass shower in our room streak- free? The gym was clean as were the lobby, the halls, the living space furniture in the room.....what a comfortable place to stay! And then.....after being here through a few shifts of staff and hearing them interact with each and every customer and one another ....I realized that they truly welcome us to this Courtyard and to Abilene as if into their own home. Great hotel with friendly and courteous staff! My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night to pass through on our road trip. Checking in and out is super convenient and easy through the Marriott mobile app. The location was perfect because it was right off the freeway, about a 7 min drive from Abilene Christian University, and located near Walmart, several restaurants, and gas stations. We booked a room with a king sized bed and found it to be nice and tidy. It had a flat screen tv, mini fridge, microwave, and a spacious bathroom. Although the room was a little small, it was adequate for what we needed since we only staying overnight. The nice thing about the hotel was that parking and WiFi are free. Compared to other Marriott properties, this place does not offer a complementary breakfast; however, they have a lounge where you can buy food and drinks. If we happen to come back to town, we will definitely stay here. read more

By the far one of the nicest hotels we have had on this trip! We checked in without reservations and were lucky enough to get an appropriate room! Jolene is A++++! Extremely professional and personable! She immediately made us feel right at home (even though we had no reservations). She goes beyond the call of duty when she attends her guests! Multi-tasking is her middle name! The phone was ringing off the hook, we were checking in and guests were asking her questions...she handled it all like a champion and with a huge smile always on her face!!! Our room is spectacular! 2 queen beds, small kitchenette, sofa sleeper and a good size desk! We appreciated the laundry room, which again Jolene directed me to when I asked! Washers are $1.50 each and dryers are $1 each, coin-operated so have those quarters ready! Each machine takes 30 minutes each, we'll that's what is noted but they take more like 40-45 minutes. I was also informed laundry supplies are offered at the front desk, but we brought our own. There are 3 traditional Washers, 1 front loader, and 8 dryers available for use. The laundry room is open 24hrs! Enroll in the Marriott Rewards program it is so worth it! You receive a small discount on the room plus breakfast is free to members! Free Wi-Fi and there is a workout room here as well! I highly recommend this site and if you see Jolene tell her hello! Most likely she'll say hello before you get the chance!!! Stayed at this courtyard and was very pleased. The rooms are modern and clean. I was very impressed by the showers in the bathroom. The parking lot is a tad small but the area around it seems safe as there is nothing but hotels and fields. The price was also very reasonable. read more
