Stayed here for one night in late September on my way to Santa Fe. It was a 2-week long roadtrip, and I stayed at seven different hotels in 4 different states. This was one of the most pleasant, relaxing stay, and I felt safe, which is really important for a solo trip. Honestly, it's not in a charming location. It's facing a local main street, family restaurants and other motels. But from my third floor room, the sky view was unobstructed and great. Also despite the location, it was pretty quiet. I had a restful sleep! Oh wait, I should have mentioned that the room was CLEAN and comfortable. The staff was just the best I had on this trip. Front desk called after I arrived in the room to make sure everything was fine. That's so nice. I was too tired to go out so I had dinner at the bar in the hotel, but the staff there were kind and sweet. The food was also delicious! Who'd have thought! The lobby is super charming with the southwest flair. The courtyard is also very pretty. If you stay there, make sure to spend some time unwinding there. read more

I will start by saying that the staff is lovely and the hotel is clean. That's where the pros end. The cons: The last three times we have stayed here the pool has been closed for repair. The last two times the kitchen has been closed. This latest time the bar and kitchen were both closed. The last three times the Netflix/streaming has been offline. I called the desk tonight and they told me they only supported streaming if you had your own firestick. Mind you, the remote has a Netflix button and the Marriott tv menu has streaming options. I did have my firestick with me and the tv and/or the Marriott menu did NOT support that choice. I spent about 45 minutes trying various configurations. I am tech savvy and it's a definite no go. We will not be staying here again, despite the friendly and accommodating staff. I'm giving 3 stars because of the staff and clean hotel. read more

Was not able to check in on arrival due to the rooms not being ready even with reservations. The main areas of the hotel was extremely hot and uncomfortable and the sodas in the cooler were all expired. After we brought this issue to their attention they appeared to ignore it. Rooms were clean and comfortable and lobby was clean but very warm. read more

I am a platinum elite member and this is the worst Marriott I have stayed at. I tried to get two Queens and ended up with the king. The rooms are tiny and over stuffed with things. The floor is dirty. On top of that I was put in a room next to the wedding venue and had to listen to drunk idiots and blaring music until midnight. This place is a dump. read more

The remodel of this hotel was awesome. Really nice hotel with clean rooms and a nice lounge area. The pool and hot tub were drained which sucked but overall really nice hotel!! Close to a lot of good restaurants and the staff was great as well. Will stay here from now on. read more

Pros: lots of USB ports in the rooms and the beds were comfortable. Cons: almost too many to list. Starting with: refrigerator in room was unplugged, so we lost our first night's leftovers. Bar soap in bathroom was used and likely from a previous guest (who does that?) Despite the website stating the place was fully renovated, the pool has been closed for months. Website said the hot tub was open and I was even told that on the phone. It wasn't. Went to the fitness center and no heat (58 degrees at 8 a.m.) Overpriced bistro; I can't remember the last time I stayed at a decent hotel (and given the prices at this one) that didn't offer a complimentary breakfast, especially when you can walk to a Village Inn or Denny's that is less than 100 feet from the entrance. Skip their overpriced food and go elsewhere. I'm a recovering cancer patient and I selected this hotel for its amenities, despite the price. Courtyard by Marriott's standards sure have slipped. Next time: Hilton. read more

I was very comfortable at this hotel. It seems newly renovated and the beds and shower ere great. I previously stayed at the TownePlace suites three nights before I came here and that hotel was terrible. I'm so glad I came to the courtyard! read more

This Marriott location wasn't listed on YELP as of 6/8/23 so I added the business so I could write this review. If you go on the Marriott website you'll see the litany of negative reviews. My husband just stayed here one night on a quick business trip. This Marriott is an abomination and puts the Marriott brand name to shame. Staff was very kind and tried to do their best under the circumstances. The front desk staff admitted their embarrassment of the unkept conditions surrounding this property. They lied about the elevators being broken/out of service for several months now (said it has been broken for a day) because they are so embarrassed of the inexcusable conditions. Was actually told that the staff doesn't want to tell paying guests that they can't get help from corporate to fix the broken and damaged issues that have plagued this location for months so they just pretend like it "just happened" when guests arrive. Pool was broken. The window in the room was broken- a lawsuit waiting to happen. Bartender said he has to purchase supplies for the bar from his own pocket as they can't get any funding from corporate. Bugs in the room. Drywall patched with exposed cardboard - just a big, ugly, unsafe mess all around. Room rate was $129 with tax for one night. That's $100 too much. Unfortunately for this small, rural industrial town there are not many hotel options so you "get what you get" I suppose. But Marriott IS still a large, corporation and the MARRIOTT corporate office responsible for this location should absolutely support this location and the employees who are trying to keep this sad location in business. read more

Although this is an older style Courtyard, I wasn't expecting much more being in a smaller town. When I checked in even though I had mobile checked in and my room was assigned and ready, the process was quite slow and not as quick as most other Marriott's. Lobby is decorated with a southwestern flair. Lots of seating in the bistro restaurant and also around the cozy fireplace. Once I got to the room, noticed the furniture was very dated and not upgraded style like other remodeled Courtyards. Room was clean, but bed wasn't super comfy but wasn't uncomfortable either. They definitely need new pillows since they were quite flat and didn't provide much lift for my neck and head. They did have a nice touch by providing a nice gift bag with a nice note and a bottled water for being a titanium member. Room had a refrigerator and microwave. They also had a nice patio area along a walking path by the river. Staff was very friendly. read more

Horrible experience! You think you have 4 people in your party and you would get 2 beds since that is what was on the reservation. We even checked in on time we saw people come after us get 2 beds and they were a party of 2. Unbelievable then I asked for a refund and we would leave they said we would still be charged. Looks like they did room remodels recently so, they are nice, clean, and comfortable. Good desk space and lighting. Some of the drawbacks are a lobby area that's seen better days, 1 of 2 elevators working, low back desk chair, bathtub shower, and no alarm clock (which I look at more than I care to during the night). All and all, probably the nicest place you'll find in Farmington. The rooms are very nice. read more

I was going through Farmington on my way to Durango and found a great deal at this Marriott chain hotel for around $70 including tax for one night. The front desk person was super nice and friendly. The decor on the outside and inside seemed a little dated. The hotel itself doesn't have a lot of bright lighting and seemed very dim, including inside the rooms. Elevators were old, carpet could be changed, and there was some staining on our little one seater chair. Beds were okay, the shower was great as I liked the high pressure feeling. The location is within minutes of the restaurants and stores on Main Street. Overall I don't know if I would stay here again and I would probably look at the Fairfield down the street for something a little more new. However this place was pretty average so I don't have many huge complaints about this place since it was only a one night stay. read more

Absolutely no integrity. Reservation was cancelled 4 days prior to arrival without notice. Manager cancelled reservation and made the conscious decision not to notify. I discovered it the app the night before when I realized I didn't receive notice to check in. Marriott attempted to help. No one at property would answer. This is the place to stay in Farmington! Along the shores of the Animas River, this southwest design hotel is a nice resting spot. The decor is lovely, room ms are what you expect from the Courtyard series and every convenience is available: indoor pool, bar, bistro, business center. One of the best features is its proximity to the Animas river boardwalk, which we walked at sunset. Many families out doing the same. Plenty of geese flying in to roost for the night. The hotel also has a beautiful back patio facing the river, too. If you find your travels take you here, this would be my top choice. Will come back, I found this a peaceful oasis! read more

A nice place to stay in Farmington. They have a friendly staff who go out of their way to help you when I was there in October I expected the room to have a refrigerator it did not because of remodeling. the night maintenance person said don't worry and went out and got one for me from the storage area and put it in the room with an hour it just goes to show the type of commitment they made to make sure I had a good stay. They could have very easily said we can't help you or you have to wait till the morning to talk to the regular manager. But they were obviously empowered to help their gifts and that really says a lot about the hotel. They had Starbucks coffee in the other usual breakfast items at a Marriott has as well as a village in restaurant right next door. They also had a pool which was very clean and very refreshing. I would recommend staying there and I know I will again if my path takes me to Farmington. read more

This is the top business hotel in the region. Staff are friendly and proactive, rooms are quiet & comfortable, location is terrific. Rare among Courtyards, this hotel offers room service for breakfast and dinner - very convenient, and the food is very good. A terrific breakfast buffet is served each morning for only $5. My client chose to have this facility host our meeting - facilities were very good, staff very responsive as needs arose. Free wireless internet and free parking rounds out this solid 4-star property. What holds it back from a five star rating for me is the in-wall heater/air conditioners; I prefer central air/heating (much quieter). This is the place I stay when I come for work with my two clients in the area. read more

Hotel is pretty old and run down. Housekeeping knocked on our door right at 8:00 am and was pretty annoyed when we asked to come back later. And they did at about 9:00 am. We were leaving soon there after, but I'd be pretty upset if we were trying to sleep in. I understand they are probably under staffed and needed to get into rooms quickly, but it was pushy. But the bigger complaint is that the hotel looks like it hasn't been kept up, clean enough, but kind of cruddy. read more

I stayed here for two nights for work, attending a conference at San Juan College. As I waited, and waited, and waited to check in I was able to hear the front desk clerk chatting away with the one guest ahead of me - turns out they both came from families of mechanics! Wow! They chatted about the mechanic world for about 15 minutes (I'm not exaggerating here), and then the guest told her that she had her german shepherd with her and the front desk clerk told her she wasn't worried about that whatsoever, and all was super duper. It's finally my turn! I did not receive the same warm welcome. I made the mistake of asking if my employer had covered my room as promised when the clerk asked for my credit card. She snapped at me and said she needed my credit card "in case I damaged anything in the room." I told her I didn't plan on it, and she responded with "well, you never know." I was near tears! As this stay was about 6 weeks ago I can't remember her name, but I believe it was Audrey or something like that. The point here is it was the worst welcome I've ever received at a motel. She was so rude! I planned on commenting about her to the manager when I checked out but I had the pleasure of checking out with her. I guess I should've brought my dog with me for a warm welcome. The hotel itself was fine, clean enough rooms, pool was a decent temp, and there was an unexpected view of the river outside my window. Also the bartender was super nice and friendly, as was everyone else that I encountered other than the front desk clerk. I will be recommending to my employer that we book elsewhere from now on as I don't care for a repeat experience with that little bundle of joy. read more

I'm giving this a two stars only because of cleanliness of bed and bathroom. Old dirty stained carpets in the rooms. Hallways look new Strips of Carpet cut for baseboard IN THE BATHROOM. Outlets uncovered with exposed wires. Missing caulk. Broken and torn lampshades. Some walls Spackled but not painted. Emergency exit ... the only one on the side of the building covered in caution tape... like a crime scene. The entire bed is covered in heavy plastic sheeting .... like a nursing home. Impossible to sleep on a giant garbage bag. Brown striped drapes, rust and gold matted dirty carpet, gold carpet baseboards, red silk oriental sofa it's a decor nightmare. And a dangerous construction zone. Why are these rooms being rented? And why for full price ! This is Marriott ???? read more

Hmmm....Courtyard, this is not your best foot forward. Still, it's the best option in town, so I will stay here again. The lobby is cute, and the staff is very friendly. I'm never greeted or treated as a Platinum Elite here, but that seems to be common at Marriott these days. Still, I get regular service just fine. The views from the room at the back of the hotel are nice, with the river and the park back there, as long as you're not in a room with the convention center blocking the view. You can get a room with a fridge and microwave, if you ask. The hotel is dated. The furniture is hella old, as was the dented and scratched fridge. The bathroom is dated as well. This hotel definitely needs a facelift! The bedding is not standard Marriott bedding. The bed is hard and I needed multiple pillows to get a good night's sleep. But what really got on my nerves was the AC unit. Each time I've stayed here, the unit was behind the desk. So the air blows directly under the desk and is trapped there by the chair and the adjacent fridge and dresser. I move the chair out of the way to get some air flow, but it's not great. Also, I had to tie back the curtain because what little air wasn't going under the desk was going behind the curtain, blowing it out into the room and over the desk. Just...bad design and layout. As a result, I had to crank that sucker down as low as it would go to get the room to a reasonably comfortable temp. read more

I stayed here for one week. The lobby sitting area is really nice. My room was outdated and had an odd layout. In general it was pretty clean and spacious. The free wifi was no good. It kept asking me to accept their terms and conditions and I could get nothing done because it kept popping up when I was using the Internet. I think I would rather stay somewhere else. read more

Needed a place to crash on our way from Santa Fe to Sedona, with a planned detour to monument valley the next morning. Several hotel options in Farmington, but Courtyard is a known quantity and this was no exception. We walked in on New Year's Day and got exactly what we needed. I don't remember the name of the woman working the front desk (afternoon shift, 1/1/20), but she was very friendly, available, and gave us a nice-sized room on the top floor overlooking the river. Plus she gave a great dinner recommendation! A clean, quiet, reliable place to stay on your way through the southwest. read more

"By Marriott" needs to be removed for the sake of the brand. The exterior of the building and the lobby do not represent the rooms. First of all, apparently, they freely allow animals without advertising so. My son and I have dog allergies, and we were miserable (he is 3 years old) with allergies all night. Secondly, the room was dirty. By that I mean the carpet was old, stained, stinky and pure dirty. There was a rodent chewed hole in the bottom of the entertainment center. The "river view" patio was unusable due to wasps and flies. I will say that the employees were warm, kind, understanding and attentive. read more

The Courtyard Marriott in Farmington was a one night stop for us in a long drive. Our party of four was exhausted when we checked in. When we checked in I was asked why we were traveling, for business or pleasure. When I told the attendant it was for a funeral, she lowered our confirmed rate by about $14. Right off the bat, I am liking this. I asked for a quiet room so she put us on the highest floor (4th floor). She informed me that there were a couple of graduation parties being held in the meeting rooms. I was worried that we would hear a bunch of people in the halls, but our room was very quiet. We didn't even hear anyone around us. The pluses: ** very comfortable beds. One review stated that the mattresses were in bad shape and needed replacing. Well I am guessing they did that. We had a double queen room and the beds had a lot of memory foam in them. I don't think they were tempur-pedic beds, but something like it. ** quiet room ** located right in the main part of town ** many restaurants around ** air conditioning worked very well ** plenty of hot water ** WiFi in our room worked well ** free computer access in lobby area with printing capabilities ** free parking The minuses: ** No continental breakfast ** No microwave or mini fridges in the rooms ** pay for breakfast (including Starbuck's coffee) options available in lobby are way too overpriced ** very small pool which was always crowded All in all the Marriott Courtyard is a decent choice. Definitely not up to the room standards I expect at a Marriott. Huge spot on the carpet in the middle of the floor - looked like they had tried to spot clean, but needed to get out the steam cleaner. Small bathroom area. Otherwise, the beds were comfortable, and had a nice early am walk along the riverfront trail - would have been nice if they had a trail map at the front desk- google maps didn't have enough detail. We had a Marriott gift card from our wedding that we needed to use. We booked a king+jacuzzi room. When we got there we received the ole bait and switch. We were put in a handicap accessible room w/ a queen bed (too short for me at 6'5"), and a shower that maxed out at 6'2" beyond this all the jacuzzi seals were rotted and in desperate need of re-caulking, the wallpaper was peeling, and the room had no overhead lights, just a few lamps. Rest assured, they still charged us the full king+jacuzzi rate despite not receiving it. In the morning I needed to print a PDF from my email and ended up having to use the managers computer. I was informed that apparently Marriott policy doesn't allow the printing of PDFs, which leaves me stumped as to what files they do allow you to print then. read more

It's a decent hotel if you're looking for a place to sleep. I needed wifi, being a student, and the staff was accommodating. Hotel rooms don't come with a fridge or microwave, unlike most Marriotts, but you can get them on request. The hotel food is overpriced, but two restaurants are within walking distance. The wall air-conditioning unit was a bit annoying when trying to work at the desk, constantly blowing at me. However, it works pretty well, so the room temp is nice and I can plug in my laptop by the bed. (Maybe a plug by the couch might be good too). Overall, it was a decent experience, but had some room for improvements. read more

An event planners dream come true! I haven't even been to the hotel yet and I already am impressed! (I will update the review after, to be fair.) Linda in sales/catering is AMAZING. I was amazed when she actually answered her phone... after that she continued to blow my mind by offering every detail I needed and immediately emailing me the most clear, detail-oriented and easy to read catering menu I have ever seen in my whole life. I plan trainings all over the country and have never had this amazing of an experience! I wish she would hold conferences to train other Sales and Catering Managers how to be more efficient (and friendly). Our conversation lasted a total of 17 minutes and I have everything I need. Otherwise, the event and catering options/pricing look incredibly fair. I very much look forward to having my event at the Courtyard Marriott simply so I can continue to work with Linda. :) read more

No free coffee provided in the lobby. Instead there is a Starbucks. When we ordered some coffee, the barista informed us that she hadn't made any and we would have to wait ten minutes (it was 7:30 a.m.). The room had no refrigerator or bathroom fan. First time here but Won't be the last. The lobby is very inviting with lots of seating and a bar/lounge with outside patio, great for photos. The woman that check us in was so pleasant and made us feel right at home. Once we got to the room I was more impressed that everything appears new and very clean with a nice layout and a view of the riverwalk. Farmington courtyard is the place to stay and relax. read more
