The breakfast/dinner meal options are good and reasonably priced (or free). The on site staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is convenient to the adjacent convention center and also sits right in the historic downtown area. I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott on October 31. The staff was friendly, and my room was nice overall. However, I'm giving it a 3 out of 5 mainly due to the bathroom's cleanliness. The shower didn't look clean, with several cracks in the floor and hairs on both the bathroom floor and shower wall. This raised concerns about the overall cleanliness of the room, which is very important to me when staying at a hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful. read more

In town for a long weekend of sightseeing and reminiscing, we were pleased with our choice of this hotel. There were 10 of us---6 adults, 4 kiddos---so we felt very lucky to have 2 rooms that slept 5. The website says each room slept 6, but the sofa bed is what I would call a large twin. There were small inconveniences: our 4th floor ice machine didn't work, one elevator was out of service the entire time we were there, bathroom door wouldn't lock. None of these were bad enough to complain about. The hospitality and the amenities made up considerably for any inconvenience. We walked just about everywhere. The Courtyard is in the historic district. There are LOTS of restaurants close by, and some really cool shops! read more

1. Appearance/Appeal: no complaints here. The hotel was clean and tidy. The room was nice as well. Looks like they put down new carpet. The rooms did not have microwaves, but there was a microwave near the elevators on a table. That was a little odd. Hope no one burns the popcorn! 2. Beds: my bed was very comfortable. I did notice a stain on the comforter. Obviously, that's a turn off. I doubt the staff noticed when they put it on the bed. Overall, I had a good night's sleep. 3. Coffee: I always cover this in my reviews. I must have coffee in the morning! There was a small coffee maker in the room that performed perfectly. Nice quality coffee available as well. Of course, they serve Starbucks downstairs in the bistro. 4. Location: This hotel is right in the heart of town. There are several restaurants within walking distance. There's a Doubletree just down the street, but this seems to be nicer. I've stayed here a couple of times and last time I walked down to Bricktown Brewery and had a nice meal. Also stopped in at another craft beer spot on the corner. 5. People: The staff were extremely nice upon check-in and checkout. Young lady running the bistro was very nice. I was the only one in the bistro area for a good bit and she really took the time to make sure I had everything I needed. She gave me a nice list of local restaurants as well. See photos for the list. 6. Restaurant/Bar: there's a small bistro that serves beer, wine, and liquor. Very small menu. I had the cobb salad and it was just fine. Nice dinnerware and served quickly. 7. Water/Shower: The bathroom in my room was great. Nothing fancy but the water pressure was good, the towels were clean, and everything worked well. No issues. 8. WiFi: The hotel Wi-Fi worked great. 9. Invoicing/Payment: I had an invoice in my inbox before I checked out. I did drink a bottle of water in the room that cost $3.00. They sent me an additional invoice reflecting the bottle of water, which was nice. Having the description and the amount on the invoice is very important when submitting expenses to corporate accounting. They will not reimburse employees if there's not a description showing that the item was non-alcoholic food or beverage. I wish more hotels did this. Nice job! read more

In town for a festival. I had a less expensive rate next door, but wanted to be close to friends and thought breakfast included would be worth it. WRONG. What they call breakfast was disguising. Cold food, no creamer for coffee, they called it bread pudding it was cinnamon rolls with a odd sauce - gross. We warned others in our group not to do the buffet/quick options. They ordered at the counter got the same cold leftover food. To charge $16 per person for this slop is a crime. Our room was clean but the shower walls were busted and the door did not close. I asked the front desk for a refund for Sunday breakfast since we would not be trying that twice, she told me no. So the fact that they know this is garbage and do nothing really not happy. read more

The breakfast on the other hand is a very different story ... paid $16 a plate for one of the worst breakfast I've ever had at a hotel.... free motel six breakfast much better .... definitely would not recommend the hotel breakfast... at $16 for breakfast I expected fresh food maybe even a guy flipping omelettes they were out of everything. Kudos to the people at Courtyard by Marriott I'm Ft. Smith. We were her for a fundraiser and this hotel went way above and beyond the call of duty. First off, nice rooms with a small indoor pool and a gym. They have a spacious lobby with numerous televisions which I happened to watch one afternoon. In addition, they have a Starbucks and a small bar area which came into good use. They actually opened up off hours to make me a flavored coffee at no charge. Same time next year when we come back, it's a no brainer that we will be at the Courtyard by Marriott . read more

Great place to stay down town, we were able to get around very easy. Nice staff, rooms are clean, great place for work or play. Try Landrys if you stay here very easy 4 block walk to get to it. The fam and I stayed here for one night last weekend on our way home from a festival. I had reserved 3 rooms for us several weeks in advance. When we arrived, somehow they had an additional room reserved for us. Thankfully, the staff removed it and did not try to charge us for the extra room (that I did not reserve or have a confirmation # for). The hotel itself is nice enough, but the hallways were kept abnormally warm. Enough to break a sweat when walking to your room from the elevator. The rooms are a nice size and the beds are pretty comfortable, so no complaints there. The bartender was overworked, but very kind and congenial. The staff member who helped us during checkout acted like we were an inconvenience and was just on the verge of being rude. This last complaint isn't really the hotel's fault. Probably more mine for not researching the area a little more. But the hotel is located directly across the street from a police station and a jail. The officers must have been playing some sort of game because they were all over the place and one after the other turned on their lights and sirens. It lasted for a good while and was pretty annoying. read more

I am writing this from the hotel on the free WIFI connection. That is always a nice amenity. So is the free parking. The overall hotel has modern decor. The lobby is clean. There is a dining room but I never saw anyone in there actually dining. We were told that they did not offer a free breakfast and that their breakfasts cost $10. The first impressions of the room was a faint smell of tobacco smoke. This was supposed to be a non-smoking hotel, indicated by those tiny little stickers posted on the door knob plate. If that was their only warning no wonder it smelled like smoke. Who could ever notice that? The bathroom door was a little askew since you had to lift it in order for it to close properly. The decor was updated and you didn't feel like you were in the 80's. The tv however was a product of the 90's and took up a lot of space. There was plenty of drawer space and hangers which is nice. The bed was comfortable and we requested and received extra pillows. It was also nice to have a sofa and coffee table. I do feel however that the lighting is not what it should be. The light switch closest to the door doesn't exactly light up the room. It is connected to the tiny recessed light that illuminates of all things a decorative table piece in the corner nook next to the closet. You have to physically fumble your way to the beside wall sconce in order to get some real lights. Once you do that you can move over to the desk lamp and then the floor lamp beside the couch. Overall it was a decent night's stay. If you have to stay in Fort Smith then you will have to stay here. read more

Clean, friendly and convenient. We really enjoyed our stay here. We chose an allergy pure room because one of our children has bad allergies and it was nice to have the large air purifier in the room. Breakfast wasn't included but we didn't mind paying for the convenience of having it right there! Highly recommend! read more

I've just completed a very disappointing stay and I must say the complete lack of professionalism, unavailability of room service or basic amenities, shoddy room housekeeping, and lack of upkeep of the hallways and common areas made this experience feel more like a motel 6 than a Marriott. There was no room service or amenities of any kind Christmas week. We couldn't even get milk initially and had to walk across the street to the Holiday Inn which was much more professional and gave us some milk for free. The attendant seemed pretty clueless about customer service and problem solving for us. Couldn't help us order food from elsewhere since both restaurant and bar were closed (when in fact plenty of restaurants nearby were opened) so just left us there to starve with no options. Some of the other front desk attendants are better but we've been incredibly surprised how incompetent and just mentally slow some of the front desk people have been. We came in one night and were very casually told to watch our steps to avoid the vomit of a sick child. I do appreciate the tip that allowed us to avoid the vomit but the delivery was oddly casual, unapologetic, and generally unexpected for a mariott There have been beer bottles and leaves in the hallway of the first floor all week long, and I've even brought it to the attention of the attendants although nothing had been done about it. Housekeeping has been unbelievable. The house cleaners have gone through each morning but they have done little else besides bring new towels. The beds weren't even made much less sheets changed. The floor in the bedroom and bathroom have not been vacuumed and new soap and shampoo was not brought. I called at 8pm sunday night to ask that some soap be brought up to our room since housekeeping hasn't replenished it in the last several days and was told I could come pick some up at the front desk. When I replied that the attendant could bring it my room there was silence then a reply that housekeeping had left. There appears to be one employee at this huge hotel most of the week and she literally leaves the front desk unattended when she needs to deliver things to rooms such as this. Worst Marriott stay ever. The Holiday Inn next door looks newly renovated, more upscale, much better staffed, and cheaper. read more

Easy walk to the restaurants on Fort Smith's main street. My only complaint was regarding the smoking in restaurants/bars - which doesn't have anything to do with the Courtyard. 1. Mistakenly charged $860.00 from an 83 year old man's bank account. 2. Left him and his wife broke, stranded in Ft.Smith. 3. When told the guest was on his way to his 100 year old Mothers funeral, the staff at the Marriot was unsympathetic and informed us he would have to wait 7-10 days to get his money back. 4.We helped our folks out no thanks to Marriot 5.We were informed by the Manager of a different Marriot in another city that this hotel is not following Marriot corporate policy regarding guests complaints while I will stay at a Marriot hotel again just not this one also no free coffee or breakfast as in all other Marriots/ Hampton inns. if you stay here against my advice, I'm sure they will earn your bad review,so it's a win win. OK, first off the fire alarms went off at 4 in the morning and we were left outside for almost an hour waiting for them to be shut off. It turned out that it was due to a malfunction of their water system. Then the cleaning staff came by at nine in the morning banging on the door. They put a letter in front of our door saying they apologized but the staff really truly seemed unapologetic. I will not be staying here again. read more

I'm a Marriott employee from a property in San Diego. I understand the great service required of all Marriotts and the requirements expected from the hosts and hostess. This courtyard met all expectations and more. Not only was the property clean and new, every employee smiled at us giving a warm greeting. My husband and I were in and out from 6 PM to 4 AM and every time we came in we were greeted with a smile and a wave. We were in such a rush leaving on this trip, that we both forgot our tooth brush, this little issue was quickly fixed by the helpful hosts at this courtyard. This was a last minute booking, we really just expected a room for the night, not only were our basic needs met, but the service and property far exceeded our expectations. We will be staying at this courtyard on our next trip to Fort Smith. read more

I have stayed in a lot of Marriot hotels and this was the first time I have ever been so disappointed. 1.The hot water got cold in the middle of my shower! 2.The desk clerks were clueless about customer service and apparently high school girls. 3.The two restaurants were only open a few hours a day. 4.There was no room service. 5. The housekeeper walked into our room at 8a.m. without knocking! 6. No shuttle service. I don't recommend this Marriot to anyone! read more

Passing through town and stayed one night here. Location is great, hotel was very clean. Went to to Bistro cafe in the evening for a few drinks, service was outstanding. Following morning went to the Bistro cafe for breakfast and coffee before hitting the road. We missed breakfast by about ten minutes(they stop serving at 9:30 am). While the kitchen was already closed, the Bistro cafe staff had the ability to toast bagels and make fruit bowls. Even though they were already closed, the staff went above and beyond by fixing us bagels with cream cheese and fruit bowls. Outstanding service! read more

If you want a nice place to stay in Fort Smith, this is the only place to stay. Its relatively new so it is updated and more modern than some other Courtyards. The decor is nice, the rooms are spacious and clean, and its what you expect from a Marriott. We walked to some local bars and had a great time. I tried to give less than 1 star but this is the lowest. And this is the lowest of hotels. As a baseball team we had a reserve team block with everyone having confirmations and checking in on their app by 5pm. When at least three families arrived they were told they were overbooked and had their rooms at another Marriott and would "walk them to their hotel." That was bull shit as the other hotel was over 15 minutes away. Their excuse was that they had guests that "stayed over." Never using this hotel again and would never recommend to anyone. read more

If you're traveling to Ft Smith, choose a different hotel. They do all the little things that make a hotel stay tolerable or even enjoyable totally wrong. From the minute I came into the building, they found new & creative ways to annoy me. I am a very frequent traveler (gold w/Marroitt) & would never stay at this property again. If I had never stayed at another Courtyard, I may not have been so disappointed. I know what a good hotel feels like & this is definitely not it. Nice hotel but they messed up. We had reserved a room with 2 queen beds. But they had overbooked when we got there and all they had for us was a king with a pull out. The pullout is a twin .... not a double. That is 3 spots for sleeping We had 4 people. They gave us free breakfast for the troubles but breakfast isn't worth anything if your 2 (not little) kids did not sleep well. It just shouldn't have happened. And when you are on the first night of a vacation the last thing you need is tired kids. read more
