Horrible state of disrepair. Room temperature was 84 when we checked in. The air conditioner unit on the wall was condensing onto the carpet, which was damp to about 6ft out. It didn't chill too well either The mirrored closet door fell off its hinges. Drywall tape on the bathroom ceiling was falling off. There were two Kleenex in the dispenser. The curtains were hanging halfway off the rod. The carpet was torn in several locations. Baseboard by the window was falling off. It hadn't been dusted, or even looked at, for some time. No restaurant, no bar, no breakfast of any type. The coffee packet holder for the room's coffee machine wasn't even for that machine. Their elevators sounded like they were on their last leg. The ATM didn't work. And both room keys stopped working in the early morning. Stay away. Stay far away. read more

When I first visited this hotel, it was shortly after it had been built and the overall cleanliness and service were much, much better. It's been a few years and I have to say, it's not the same Courtyard by Marriott it used to be. It's gone downhill... I'm not sure if COVID caused staff shortages resulting in the lowering of standards, but one thing is sure: their standards have gone down a lot. Upon entering our room, we immediately noticed that the bedsheets weren't tucked in all the way, sheets hanging on the sides, put together in a rush, a job half finished - kinda like how I would lazily make a bed at home, definitely not the professional standard. Walls, doors and surfaces are stained or scraped in many places, as if this were an old hotel in dire need of renovations. Except this hotel isn't even that old... The couch has mysterious white stains all over it - is it paint? Something else? Do I even want to know?? The chair has a large brown stain on it too. And the towels... Well one of the "clean" towels came with a big yellow spot on it - the photo doesn't do it justice, it's actually bright yellow. I'm pretty sure it's pee. I mean, what else could it be?? The lady at the front desk seemed tired and was a bit sharp. You could tell she was likely not having a good day, and seeing how poorly this hotel is maintained, I can only imagine the challenges staff are left to deal with. Management dropped the ball big time with this hotel. This isn't worth to be called a Marriott anymore. And because of its dramatically lowered standards of cleanliness, this hotel does not deserve its stars. I'm giving this hotel 2 stars only because the front staff look like they deserve a break. Will not be staying here again in the future unless Marriott gets their stuff together. read more

Hotel is new and staff was nice. I found a bunched up sock under the sofa in the room as soon as I checked in. So obviously they don't clean very throughly. My coworker still had someone else's used soap and wash cloth in the tub. She informed them and left for the day and when she came back it was still there. Gross! Hotel is pretty close to everything so that's good. They just need to be better with housekeeping. Oh, and I know this is stupid but their elevator is REALLY slow and it's a brand new hotel. Awesome location! Although, Not all that impressed for a newer Courtyard! Obviously, you are to expect the usual Courtyard amenities like comfortable, contemporary lobby and cafe with bar, 24 hour market, quasi friendly staff and outdoor pool with fire pit sitting area. However, the bathrooms lack contemporary updates which shocks me! The vanity light in my bathroom never worked and the bathroom floor looked dirty when the door was shut to suggest a non-thorough cleaning. The room itself was contemporary and comfortable with a microwave and mini fridge. Plenty of plugs and usb hubs but the usb hub in the night stand was jammed and didn't work. My room was on the first floor which usually turns me off for noise level but it was a totally quiet night which was nice! I'd definitely recommend Courtyard overall! The issues with my room could've very well been growing pains or just a poorly maintained room. Needless to say, it wasn't enough to make me ask for a change in rooms, just a bit annoying. I'll stay here again if the price point is good. read more

Very clean nice facility. The staff were friendly and attentive. The room was spacious and the beds are comfy. Nice modern decor and facilities. Great location near the casinos, right off the interstate and near restaurants. I would have given more stars but the price was a bit concerning. In a city that has been hit by 2 hurricane and residents of the city dealing with widespread damage to personal homes and businesses the people of Lake Charles are going thru a lot. And they are dealing with a pandemic as well. The cost of the room was $169 for a Sunday night and $219 per night during the week. It cost me $700 to go the Lake Charles for 3 nights to tend to a death in the family. Again the people of Lake Charles and the family's need a break. read more

Possibly the most unfriendly staff of any Marriott property that I've stayed. Since it's around the corner from the casinos, it's pricey. No mention that the entire bar/dining area is roped off and shut down (assuming COVID). My room had multiple items that were either broken or malfunctioning. I requested the shower handle to be fixed since it flipped from hot to cold with no stopping in the middle- this was never repaired. Toilet paper holder was broken. Bathroom was semi clean. Kleenex was nearly empty on arrival. ICING ON THE CAKE... I get a call on Sunday morning to come downstairs because my car had the window smashed out. My car and 7-10 others were broken into. NO CAMERAS. NO SECURITY. AND THE STAFF AT THE DESK SAID, unfortunately owners are responsible for their own property!!!! The police who came out stated that this is not the first time for this. Let's see... Brand spankin' new hotel. Spotless. Close to, but not on top of major highway/exit. Thoughtfully designed. Idiot-proof parking. All the amenities one would need. Comfy room and super uber comfy bed. Comp ground transportation (at least for my trek to/from casinos). A screaming rate/deal for my Saturday night stay: excluding taxes - $151. vs Casino rate of $499 a night. I agree with the other fellow reviewer that the check-in dialogue and information could have been more professional and fruitful upon arrival for guests.. but I'll cut them a little slack as I'm sure they're getting up to speed and learning the ropes given it's a new property. read more

Stopping through on a road trip and decided to stay here because it was close by off the interstate. Upon entering the facilities appeared clean and smelled good. For Easter weekend we were able to get a room but the price was a bit outrageous. For $269 with tax came out to about $300 for just one night. And this doesn't seem to be a tourist area. If it was, I could understand. The room we stayed in was clean and smelled good, hallways and elevators also. Nothing appeared to be dirty. The shower handle was a bit broken but still worked and there were some metal shower holders (to hold soap, shampoo, etc.) that appeared to have some rusting. Other than that can't really complain. Seems they are taking the precautions during the pandemic. Overall would recommend. read more

The hotel staff here is amazing and very courteous. I'd give the staff here 5 stars. I'm just reviewing on is the unfortunate environment that these poor souls have to support and deal with customers that use particular problematic Rooms. My stay I had to move rooms twice to get one that had no issues. Rm 325 = had some kind of wetness on the floor next to the ac unit area which took up about 15% of the rm who knows how long it's been there but it took me a couple days to get paranoid enough about mildew/mold to move to another rm. Rm 427 = toilet roll holder missing a piece resulting in a jiggly roller. Toilet stopped up after each usage (this only happened with this room) and there was not a maintainence person at the hotel during late hours. Rm 224 = a good room, no issues. Wish I had this room the first day I was here, I would have probably not had so many consective sleep deprived nights working otherwise. read more

Worst hotel we have stayed at in 10 years! Hard to believe it's a newer hotel due to what appears to be a complete lack of maintenance. Soaking wet floor by the AC, room smells musty, door and lock don't work correctly, broken towel hook, shower curtain liner was cut off for some reason, shower faucet was broken and only gave hot or cold water. AND, get this... No shampoo or conditioner for 3 days of our stay! Seriously? ...I can't believe Marriott hasn't threatened to pull their name from the property! read more

I stayed at this hotel over the Memorial Day weekend on May 27th, the front lobby are friendly to me and my family when we first arrived. The room where we stayed is clean and comfortable. The room included a large TV with enough channels to keep me and my parents satisfied. Restroom is clean enough with the showers having good pressure. On first glance, it looked and feel great with a 24/7 gym and a pool with the latter being clean and refreshing. Even better, is that the hotel is close distance (by car) to the casinos and about a 10-15 minute walk to the nearby shopping center. With the only downside is that there's only a dirt road and no sidewalk. It was only until the 28th of May where we faced problems. When we left that morning, the room wasn't cleaned at all and when I visited the front desk about it, they apologized and offered us clean towels. We feel like we were being reasonable, since we assumed the hotel was short on staff considering that it was during the Memorial Day holiday. It was then, around 11:00 PM that we received a phone call from the front desk that we were supposed to be checking out on that afternoon even though we booked the room for two nights via Expedia. I walked to the front desk and shown our receipt as proof. The hotel then apologized and explained to me it was through a computer error and offered us to compensate with a free breakfast. Tempting offer but we were in a hurry to leave for Austin, TX. I will give this place a second chance, but not for a while. read more

Im pretty much a regular here. My job requires I visit LC quite often. This hotel is in a pretty nice location. Right across from the casinos and close to the hwy. The staff is usually pretty nice. I run across a couple who dont remember me which kind of is annoying. I love when I ak able to walk in to hotels and not have all the extra hassle of asking for name address, id and card. Ive stayed here 1000 times. Just give the room key beloved. Im exhausted lol. Anyway, the rooms are always clean and pretty quiet. I dont believe I have ever been disturbed by neighbors. read more

Room was disgusting!!! A/C didn't work , phone not working, TV did not work. No towels & no toilet paper. Bathroom light did not work. Curtains barely hanging & dirty towels on windowsill! Rug was nasty & it felt like someone had died in this room!!! It gave me the creeps. My husband had to argue to get another room!!! I would not recommend anyone to stay at this Marriott!! Horrible Customer Service Review of Courtyard Lake Charles I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past several years with no problem. On my last visit my personal credit card was charged for my stay instead of the state card. I called to get the charges removed from my card and lo and behold they added more charges. I called again about the new charges and more charges were added. For 3 nights stay my personal card was charged for a total of 8 nights. How difficult can to be to correct the original error? After going back and forth between myself, our secretary and the Director of Sales, Gertinna Chretien I had to cancel my personal card to dispute the charges, which is an inconvenience to say the least. How difficult can to be to correct the original error? I am advising my fellow co-workers to boycott this hotel. This level of customer service from a Marriott property is unacceptable. read more

I was there with a group for a funeral nearby. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. We had a difficult schedule on our check out date and I am blown away by the staff's flexibility. My room was nice and it was clean. None of the issues I saw in the other reviews. This area had been hit by a hurricane late 2019 and another bad storm shortly after that one, so I'm sure that was a factor in the recent past. There was visible damage to many, many buildings in the area. But I found the hotel to be as clean and functional as anywhere. Only missing breakfast options due to covid. read more

I booked this hotel on June 20th and was staying the weekend of August 2nd-4th (two nights). I drove all the way from Austin, TX to Lake Charles after work on the 2nd, getting there around 12:30am. After a full workday and 5 hour drive, I was informed that they had sold my room out from under me and had no more vacancy. The guy at the front was not helpful and kept blaming it on the guy who was there before him. I got no notification of the change and rude service when I got there. Luckily Tru by Hilton was right up the block and had rooms available. This was a great hotel and I would recommend over Marriott any day. I am a Hilton Honors member as well as a Marriott Bonvoy member. I will err away from Marriott in the future and stick with Hilton. read more

A brand new hotel at reasonable rates. As a 5 day a week business traveler the reception was what you would get from a budget bullet proof hotel. No acknowledgement of your status with their hotel group, no direction as to wi-fi, breakfast, status, local attractions, etc.,... the normal treatment you would expect from a Marriott property. The bathroom floor was filthy with shoe prints.... I booked a single king and they put me in a twin queen handicap room. No problem, but I am over 6 feet tall and the closet is low to the ground (wrinkling your clothes)... I appreciate and respect their accessibility, but the hotel was less than 25% occupied and they certainly could have honored my initial reservation without hesitation... The shower temp changes to HOT on its own... The room doors slam loud! read more

The casino hotels are just not worth the money or the hassle in my opinion, reviews on L'Auberge about rooms are unending about cleanliness , casino is great unlike casino at Golden Nugget where it can take you up to two hours to get a hand pay jackpot as they only had one security officer on a Sunday read more

I enjoyed a hassle-free stay on a recent business trip. The staff was welcoming and made me feel at home. I loved the fact that I could truly unwind at the end of the day with great service at the restaurant and a nice comfy bed in the room. If you're ever in this area, give them a try! read more
