Our softball team stayed at this hotel for a week, and it was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I would highly recommend staying somewhere else if you're visiting the area. Before we even arrived, we specifically called the hotel and asked if all of the renovations were finished. We were told that everything was complete. When we checked in, we were suddenly told that both the fitness center and the pool were closed due to renovations. That was frustrating enough, but what made even less sense was that the pool looked completely ready to use. When we asked why it wasn't open, we were told it was because it was "too cold," which didn't add up. After several days of constantly asking and getting no answers, they finally opened it for us. Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of the problems. While swimming, I accidentally stepped on what looked like a small black crack in the pool floor. It shattered underneath my foot and sliced open the side of my foot. It was incredibly concerning that the pool was opened when it appeared to have a damaged surface that could injure guests. The service throughout the entire week was terrible. The staff was consistently disrespectful, rude, and dismissive toward our team and our families. We were traveling with a softball team of 14- and 15-year-old girls. Of course, a group of teenagers is going to be louder than the average guests at times, but we were never intentionally disrespectful or harassing anyone. Despite that, we later found out that a staff member had reportedly told her boss that we were harassing her, which was completely untrue and honestly upsetting to hear. The hotel also gave our team an unbelievably small meeting room for around 25 people, even though it realistically only fit about 15. On top of that, the TV didn't work, and the lights barely worked either, making the room almost useless for team meetings. Another disappointing experience involved one of my teammate's moms. She simply wanted to order a drink, but because she didn't have her ID with her at that exact moment, the staff refused to serve her. She calmly explained that she was staying at the hotel, had booked two rooms for her family of five, and offered information that could have easily been verified. Instead of trying to help or checking the reservation, staff members raised their voices at her to the point where she had to remove herself from the situation. No guest deserves to be treated that way. To make matters worse, breakfast wasn't even included. For the price of staying here, having to pay extra for breakfast felt like another disappointment on top of everything else. Overall, this hotel had poor customer service, misleading communication before our arrival, facilities that weren't as advertised, and staff who treated guests with very little respect. There were a few individual employees who were polite, but unfortunately they were overshadowed by the overall experience. I would not stay here again, and I strongly recommend finding a different hotel in the area. There are plenty of places that will treat their guests with far more respect and honesty. read more

What a horrible experience at this hotel. We were here for six nights for a softball tournament and it was terrible from the start. The hotel was under construction which was never disclosed to us, the lobby, the pool, the gym, and the rooms. The pool finally opened and after one hour a child was injured after the bottom collapsed and cut her foot. The staff is rude, and definitely not kid friendly. This hotel was a stay to play hotel but after day two we were trespassed from the lobby for an unknown reason. The front desk staff was the worst I have seen at a hotel, no customer service. I would never stay at this property or any other Marriott in the future. As a Hilton diamond member I now know why I have chosen their brand over this one. Run far from this hotel! read more

As a business traveler I've stayed at hundreds of properties, my expectations are pretty basic, clean, accommodating, a friendly staff and a secure environment, this location checks all these boxes. This is not a resort and spa so please manage your expectations, if you want to be pampered and have a staff at your beckoned call you're probably in the wrong place. This is a hotel for business travelers, for people to stay while attending local events or for those on their way to their final destination so this is location provides all of that and probably more than most options in the immediate area. What I like The ease of making reservations online using the Marriott BONVoy App. Checking in using the app and the virtual room key on your phone. Checking out using the app and an email itemized receipt. Onsite Bistro serving freshly prepared entrée, Starbucks Beverages and alcohol beverages although limited to beer and wine. Small offering of essential items you may have forgotten plus snacks for purchase. Free fresh baked cookie in the afternoon. Check-In amenities for reward members. Accessible Parking. Free WiFi and multiple television cable channels with big screen TVs. Clean rooms and customer welfare areas Everything worked in the guest room with nice bedding and towels. Good daily cleaning of your room if you choose. Onsite contracted security. Very friendly and professional staff. Things I question It would be nice to have the Bistro open by 6:00 am. The cost of bottled water stocked in the rooms $8.00 per liter. Parking lot not very well lit. Electrical receptacles in room needs upgraded (very loose connection). My overall rating is a 2 because of how lowsy our room was here. I'm a Bonvoy member, and I typically love Marriot properties. This location was the only one to disappoint in all the years I've booked stays with the company. The room reaked of cigarette smoke, though I booked a smoke free room and despite its claim to be a smoke free facility. The walls, floors and chairs were dirty and the toilet seat had chipped paint. Why was the toilet seat painted, anyway? I gave it a 2 instead of a 1 because the staff was as accommodating as they could be. The hotel was booked full, so they couldn't move us. Instead, my parking was comped and they gave me a few breakfast vouchers. Marriott needs to update and clean this place up though. It's not a good representation of the brand. read more

Will not be back! Room smelled horrific like a chain smoker spent a month in it. Asked for a new room and was told there's not one other room available in the whole building (NOTE: the parking lot is nearly empty!?!) Sent housekeeping in with a spray bottle to deodorize the room. Even she couldn't believe how bad it smelled. She left within 30 seconds and came back with an ozone air purifier (loud no less) that she plugged in. She was so apologetic recognizing this is unacceptable. It's 38 degrees and we have the window open (all four inches it opens) so we can breathe. There was another gentleman at the desk in the lobby there to complain about his room not being cleaned yet and is now hesitant to even bother staying here. Won't be back and won't recommend. I travel every week and stay in 2 different Marriott properties every single week all around the country- almost always courtyards or residence inns. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a Marriott property. Allow me to explain- I get in late and stand at the front desk waiting to be helped. I can see in the back room the front desk attendant sitting in a rolling chair watching something on his phone. It's audible all the way out at the desk. I say "hello excuse me" trying to get his attention. No response. Completely ignored me till his break or video or whatever was over then came and checked me in. He gave me room 107. Be ware of 107. What a train wreck of a room. I walk in and am overwhelmed with the smell of bathroom mildew. Like clothes that have been left in the washer for a week kind of stench. Turn on the lights and they flicker like a horror movie for far too long before actually turning on. I set down my stuff and walk around to the bed when I see a massive jet soaker tub IN THE ROOM. NOT IN THE BATHROOM. IN THE ROOM. I know what you're thinking- this is a welcome and luxurious amenity the likes of which you'd usually only experience at a four seasons or something. Yeah no. It was disgusting. Caulking all around it was like rotted out brown- the tub was gross. It smelled to high heaven. It was super off putting and creepy and gross. Why would a business travel hotel have such a "feature"?! This gave the room major... escort vibes. It was so gross. To make matters worse, the room was on the first floor so of course, being a courtyard, it has a sliding door to the outside. That said, it's on the outside part of the hotel- not facing inn towards the courtyard. The slider looked out directly to the parking lot behind the hotel. When I came in at 1 o'clock in the morning, the sliding door to this creepy gross room was UNLOCKED. also the security lock of the front door was all bent out of shap and pretty much ineffective. 0/5 wouldn't tell my worst enemy to stay here. read more

Not good at all--first room reeked of smoke, 2nd room was next door and had slight smoke smell. Part of floor by bed was sopping wet from pipe leak or something; put all the towels down to make manageable bc we didn't want to move again. Closet smelled like mold. Giant black cobwebs hanging from ceiling. Housekeeping never came next day, so asked Mr Earbuds at front desk for more towels, explained why. (called him Earbuds because that was his focus constantly rather than anyone coming to desk--I get that it's slow, but at least look toward the front while you listen to whatever so folks didn't have to wait or wave) Person came with 2 small towels. Asked for more, explaining why again. Party in next room all night long, music thumping until past 4am. Told Earbuds who nodded. Am thinking this is the staff break room, as some of the staff went on stairs by back parking to smoke. Guy who worked bistro didn't know how to make fairly basic coffee orders (cafe mocha; double espresso) and food was cold. Lady at bistro next day was tallying receipts and pretty much bit head off for asking for coffee (it was after she closed-go to front desk), and when we turned on our way, just to check the menu she snapped again (I told you to go to the front desk). Holy cow. If you don't like your job.... Have to say the lady at front desk on this day was absolutely everything I'm used to from Marriott staff--polite, friendly, professional, competent, but that was the only person in the building. Marriott needs to just cut their losses with this disaster. read more

we found ourselves looking to the many reputable chains of hotels in Manchester due to a recent power outage. In that it was Christmas weekend, I didn't expect to find available rooms. We are an older couple and they gave us the room at the end of the hall. After spending the day in our house with no heat or electricity we began to settle in immediately. It was not long afterward we realized that the room could have been cleaner. Had the room been well lit we would have noticed sooner. We stayed away from the available snacks etc as they were WAY OVERPRICED and look like they'd been there awhile Morning couldn't have come faster. We had anticipated some sort of breakfast availabile but no....only more overpriced prepackaged crap So glad our power was restored, we made it back across town to our humble abode. Zero stars! I'm not sure where to start. When we first arrived, the front desk said we only reserved two rooms (we booked three). They tried to tell me that I called and canceled one, which never happened and I had the itinerary to prove that. They told us they had no more availability and we would have to put 13 people in 2 rooms (one bed in each). We went to to the rooms and saw that the hotel was listing rooms online. We booked one and went down to the front desk to figure out why we could book but they said they were full. They charged us double and could not logically explain how it occurred. Anyways- we finally got an additional room. The "manager" was extremely rude and scanned our group with a nasty look on his face. He then proceeded to say, "we don't have parties here". Gasping I asked, why he was saying that. And reassured him we had 5 little kids we were not there to party. Just to let our kids swim in the pool for an evening. He then repeated himself and said, "Absolutely No Parties in this hotel". I felt extremely discriminated by this. He didn't say this to the group in front of us. It was so incredibly rude abs disrespectful. Especially to say this after they messed up our rooms! But wait- it gets better! So the restaurant/bar is closed because they are short staffed. So no food or drinks are available, unless you want to buy there $8.00 bottle of spring water. We go to the poop with children because the trip was for them and we decide to allow them to have some enjoyment to spite the hell we've already endured. The pool is filthy. Not one single towel. None. Dirty towels everywhere, left in corners and on the ground. Just terrible. But the real kicker- a turd laying on the ground next to the pool. Which appeared to be stepped in prior abs kicked to the corner. I CANT MAKE THIS STUFF UP!! after seeing the feces, disgusted- we left the pool area. Apparently the cleaning lady was off for the night. Just complete HELL. I can't find any info on the district manager of this property . So if you're reading this and have any info please share it. Where do I begin? I flew all the way across United States for a very important 40 meeting. Because of the time change, it is sometimes difficult to get rest. I came back to the hotel after a hard day and wanted to take a shower but the housekeeper forgot to leave me wash cloths. So I had to get dressed again, go to the front desk, and request washcloths. I don't understand how could they could forget something like that. They exchanged the other towels, but how did they forget those? The next night was even worse. I had a very early flight on Friday morning and Thursday night I was in bed at about 10 o'clock and suddenly I got up to drink some water. Luckily I saw in the light that there was some kind of smudge or dirt on one of the drinking glasses that was supposedly replaced by housekeeping. It look like it's someone's used glass from another room. I don't understand how they could not notice it. I took a picture of it and attached it to this review. I took the glass to the front desk and the clerk was very nice and apologized and offered to replace the glasses with clean ones. He asked for my room number so he can tell housekeeping the next day. I told them to add it to the list. The housekeeping here is terrible. Then about 10:30 PM the room next-door started using some type of machine or vacuum and again, I had to go to the clerk and have him go to their room and tell them to be quiet because other people were sleeping. I will never stay in this dump again. What a joke. The only reason I chose to stay at this hotel, was that it is one of my corporation's favorite and it is just down the street from my headquarters. I do have an option to stay at another hotel and I will choose that option next time. Courtyard Marriott, you really let me down! I will tell everyone that I work with, friends and family, that this place is not a place to stay. I actually thought about just sleeping the rest of the night in my rental vehicle because of all the noise in this damn hotel. Also the Bistro was closed at 6pm when I returned to the hotel. Somebody called in sick so instead of replacing them, the customers in the hotel could not eat or get anything to drink. Stayed here the day after Thanksgiving. We usually do an yearly trip here( 4 th yr in a row) as a treat for the kids . They can swim and use hot tub , which is great this time of year. Check in was quick and friendly. Kids thought it was neat that my name was listed on front desk flyer as arriving that day. As we r Marriott rewards members. Room was very clean and updated. Plenty of restaurants in area. Right next door to Friday's and I walked over to Plaza Azteca for take out to bring to room. Staff was very nice during our stay. The 2 minor issues are that the coffee bar never seemed open only for breakfast. Also the hot tub was in good shape just needs a little cleaning. We will come back next year. Kids love it. read more

This was the worst experience at a hotel I've ever had. At check in, I was surprised to find out there was a $250 hold that is being taken from the card you provide. Having a debit card, this meant $250 of my money in my account was unusable. This was double the price of the room. The excuse given was that "we've had issues here". So take advantage of peoples account? There's no mention of this on the website whatsoever. And canceling the hotel would mean I would lose out on money until it could be refunded and I needed the hotel for shelter. Then, the room smelled completely of smoke. The hotel was just fine otherwise. I was also shocked that I was charged $12 for charges to the room from the shop in the lobby. A guest must have provided the wrong room number. I didn't realize until I got the emailed folio after checkout to which corporate stated they couldn't work with me as the hotel recorded that it was me who purchased the items. I never even stepped foot in the lobby after check in because I was so upset by the service. So the only proof to buy someone is to just take someone and say a random room number... wonderful. awful experience and will never stay at a Marriott brand hotel again read more

We had a one night stay. The room decor was tired, the towel rack fell off in the bathroom. The Bistro area for breakfast left a lot to be desired. They have a 'new' menu which doesn't give options for basic breakfast items. The only cereal available was granola. We ordered a breakfast sandwich (which was not made as described on the menu) and they forgot to bring out my husbands English muffin. We had to leave for a meeting before they could get to making his order. Not staying here any time soon. read more

Poor. From start to finish. Have you ever experienced the front desk telling you "you already got this on Priceline, you can't complain"? Or, "we have no free breakfast, but if you pay for it, it's worth it!" Neither have I. The entire place either smells stale or like $10 perfume and the staff will come into your room to turn your air to a hotter setting or off, even when you leave the do not disturb sign on your door. 1 king bed cannot be switched for 2 doubles, like with everywhere else. Pray for sunshine if you stay here! We stayed as a group on August 3, 2018 for a nearby wedding. It rained during the night and most of the rooms leaked like crazy. Carpets were soaked near the windows and room smelled musty afterwards. We all received a small discount on our bills. Hotel claimed the gutters were clogged. Rude front desk staff, some of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept on. The mattresses are thin and sag in the middle so it feels like you're sinking in. My back and neck hurt after sleeping there. There were also a few house flies in my room, no thanks. read more

Pool /Jacuzzi/sauna: The hotel contained a pool, and Jacuzzi. We found that these were well maintained and kept clean. There were warning signs to indicate no life guard on duty. Water temperature was set at 78 degree. The pool area was kept lock and only accessible by the room key. There were also fresh towels available for use. 8. This Manchester hotel provides exceptional service to make every guests experience extraordinary. I was performing at the FunnyBone comedy club, which is conveniently located only 1 mile away at the Shoppes at Buckland Hills. I stay in many hotels, but this was a treat! They serve Starbucks coffee, so I was in heaven. You can enjoy craft beers, quality wines or cocktails offered at the Bistro. Late night, the 24 hour Market offers a selection of snacks and beverages. High-speed Internet is great, along with the convenience of the business center to get work done. I liked having a big king sized bed with great pillows, and a coffee maker, refrigerator, and microwave in my room. The fitness room and the heated pool and whirlpool are all very nice. Whether it is a business trip or leisure, this is an amazing hotel for your stay in the Hartford area! Competent and friendly service along with cleanliness, comfort, convenient location, and value - you can't go wrong booking your stay here! read more
