I was only in Shreveport for one night for a work trip, and I didn't take the time to really look for a nice place. I let corporate booking lead the way and ended up choosing this Courtyard so that I could 1) give my Marriott Bonvoy a chance to reach the next status tier and 2) I remember staying at a Courtyard as a kid and really enjoying it. Well, the lobby/exterior tricked me into thinking this was a swanky hotel! My room was dated---the carpet was grungy, the wall color and bathroom looked old, and there was a light feeling of humidity in the room. Breakfast is also not free and the fitness room is tiny (three treadmills take up most of the space). There is a pool, but the spa was out of order when I was there. I will say despite the datedness of the room, everything was clean, which I appreciate. The check-in staff were also nice too. read more

I am a Marriot Ambassador member (means I stay over a 100 nights a year and have an annual spend), and I am clueless as to why this hotel is allowed to carry the Marriot brand name. Very dirty, rooms carpet and walls have not been cleaned well in years, bathtubs/showers are disgusting. Outlets did not work, couches in the room are dirty. I am surprised there isn't bed bugs in this hotel. I would avoid, next time I fly out of Shreveport for an early flight I will be looking at other hotels, even if they are outside of Marriot. I would avoid this hotel. read more

If you're in Shreveport, then you most likely need a drink. I 1000% recommend you check out the bar at Courtyard Marriott, especially if Cody (the bar manager) is taking care of you. He was so attentive and sociable during my experience at Courtyard, and he's honestly just super cool vibes. Cody was a highlight of my Shreveport visit. THANKS CODY! Hotel staff was very friendly. Outside and inside areas were very welcoming. Room was ok and I can see why others were upset in previous posts but the rooms were clean, fresh towels and comfortable beds were in ours so no complaints there. My only true compliant is the lack of coffee in the waiting area but because they have the bar with Starbucks complimentary coffee isn't an option minus what's in your room. It also would have been nice if the balcony had furniture on it to sit outside. Balcony was a nice size. The pool was open but didn't check it out but saw a few people in it. The bistro is open at different times. I know it closes at 10am and for the night at 10pm. There are food options near as well as a Walmart so as long as you have transportation you are good. Waffle House is in walking distance. King rooms do come with a couch. Not sure if it lets out to a bed or not. If you complimentary breakfast and coffee a must for you then this hotel is not for you. If none of that matters then it may work out for your travel needs. read more

I was concerned after reading some reviews, but my stay was pleasant and I will stay here again. The room was clean and the towels were spa quality fluffy! My bed was extremely comfortable and I slept better than I do at home (I like a slightly firmer bed). The staff was friendly and accomodating. The wall paint and carpet are starting to show some wear but there was nothing in need of repair and these things do not affect my stay. read more

I stayed here for two weeks due to work. Signs in the elevator state that if you want clean towels, to set the dirty ones outside due to the covid restrictions. If you have garbage, set it outside the door, due to covid restrictions. The rooms will be refreshed after a week if your stay is longer than a week, due to covid restrictions. My stay was two weeks and the room was completely refreshed on day 12. The housekeepers came in daily to get the dirty towels but brought no clean towels. Otherwise, everyone was friendly. If you hear the noise of the freeway right outside, make sure all windows are tightly closed and close the curtains. That helped greatly. There was a washer and dryer for those staying at the hotel but the washer was broken. There is an indoor pool and hot tub as well as some gym equipment. read more

I'll start by saying the locations is PERFECT, the staff was extremely inviting and understanding. Originally I was giving a suite on the first floor but as I unlocked the door I saw where the bed had no bedding on it so I went back to the front desk where the attendant apologized and immediately put me in a room on the 2nd floor. I enjoyed the fact that my suite had a balcony. However I didn't enjoy how the tub looked or the knats that were dead on the AC unit. To be frank I wouldn't stay here again. read more

Really disappointed by this hotel. It's very dated and although the lounge area smells clean enough, the individual rooms have an old musty smell like dirty socks. The staff were friendly but the amenities are terrible. The hot tub is closed for repair (who knows how long is has been out of service?) and the internet does not work. Our cell signal also didn't work from our room which was terrible for trying to keep up with work emails. The refrigerator in our room did not work well. Also, there is no coffee service or free breakfast (typical for courtyard Marriott but not having coffee in the lobby was a disappointment!) We were here for a funeral and some of our group stayed at homewood suites down the road. That place was much nicer than where we were at and they had complimentary hot breakfast and a better internet signal. Do yourself a favor and stay there instead. read more

This Marriott hotel is approximately a 10 minute drive from the airport. I took an airport shuttle, which I had to call the hotel and request (not a problem) and within 15 to 20 minutes my shuttle arrived. I made sure that I called for the shuttle before heading to baggage pick up. Therefore there wasn't much of a wait at all. The driver (a young lady) was very cordial and made the ride very pleasant. She told me all about the area and even gave me some suggestions on where to eat plus sites to see. Arriving at the hotel (before check-in time), I was taken care of and asked to have a seat while my room was made ready. They even or offered to open the bar for me (the bartender just arrived) so that I could have something to drink while I was waiting. This is the type of customer service that one expects but almost never gets, kudos to the team! My room was on the first floor with a king size bed. It was clean and of course being in Louisiana a little humid. That was fixed shortly by adjusting the air conditioner. The room was comfortable, and the bed was too! The lobby and bar area are connected and also well maintained. Right around the corner from the front desk is the pool (indoor) and the workout room. The pool was nice but a bit on the small side. Unfortunately, the treadmills were both out of order, which was a huge letdown. The only cardio machine they had left was an elliptical (not my fave). Also, their free weights only went up 25 pounds, another disappointment. The breakfast was good but had a very limited selection. Also, you could get coffee for breakfast but only one cup, otherwise you would have to pay for the second one (really?!?). Went to the bar in the evening and was definitely saddened by the wine selection. Overall though, the stay was comfortable and the customer service one the day. read more

I booked here because the rate was very reasonable and have never been disappointed with a Courtyard. Some properties are more dated but they are always solid. I was exhausted when I checked in and really just wanted to crash. The front desk attendant asked if the first floor was alright and I immediately cringed. I envisioned constant hallway noise which probably wouldn't have been the case but I asked for another floor anyway. She gave me a room on the third floor at the end of the hallway. It was perfect other than the highway noise. I slept great! The bar/cafe in the lobby is a Courtyard standard. They're open for breakfast and in the evening as well beginning at 5pm and usually close at 10pm. Easy access on and off I20 with several restaurants nearby that deliver. I'd definitely stay here again. read more

So let me start by saying the staff was very nice. Now as for the room, walking down the hall the floor felt strange, almost really springy. Once I got in the room that springy floor feeling got worse, making footsteps sound excessively loud. The bathroom is very dated, tiles were cracked. I could hear the neighbors hit their toothbrush against the sink and water run through pipes most of the night. They place needs work. I am in the travel industry and would seriously think twice before putting a client in this place. I stayed in Fairfield inns that blew this place out of the water, even the holiday inn the night before was better. read more

Yolanda(the reservation clerk) went above and beyond of being professional, courteous and most helpful with making my reservation truly enjoyed speaking with her, also when I got ready to check out , there was no dolly to bring my luggage down. She assured me that she would find me one and bring it to my room. She has really shown what above and beyond the call of duty truly is. Absolutely the " Best Customer Service Award" goes to her. The cleaning lady that worked Saturday ( slender built, dark skinned w/waves in her hair) was also very nice and accommodating.... Very hard to get five stars for a hotel with limited services. The location tries, but it's during a very difficult situation. Room was clean, towels were full. But guests suffer the consequences because they can't go in and clean rooms. Keeping trash in the hallway, kind of sucks. I pay for fresh towels, I think by not cleaning the rooms it breeds more problems inside a cramped hotel room. read more

Pretty standard experience for a courtyard Marriott. Being a platinum elite member I travel quite a bit and stay exclusively at Marriott locations. I don't know if it is a good thing or a bad thing but I know exactly what to expect at a courtyard. That being said this location is way out of town and literally by nothing. Sometimes that's a good thing and in this case it's worth about a $50-$60 savings per night. For that you get essentially the same experience that you would on the boardwalk, minus of course the boardwalk, and all the restaurants, and all the shopping, and the view. The rooms are decent. The beds are decent. The Decour is decent. Overall if you want to place to stay if you want to save some money this is your best bet. read more

The single star is for the morning attendent, who smiled and offered to call a cab for my ride to the airport, when I learned that their shuttle service started at 7:00AM rather than 24 hour. I travel a lot, and I am lucky that when I have trouble, it all happens on one trip, and then I'm charmed for the next 9 or 10 months. This trip has be fine until the Courtyard by Marriott, near the airport in Shreveport. The are under renovation (which explains part of my problems) and you can always tell a Courtyard (my ongoing favorite mid-range hotel) that's been renovated from another type of hotel. In short problems included: * Room must have been 90 degrees when I got there. * Broken soda machine on my hall * Odor of paint * Room had been only partially cleaned (half empty shampoo bottle in the shower) * Night clerk never smiled (common trait, but not for people work with with people) * Extremely slow business center computer which kept warning about security being out of date. read more

This place would have been a decent choice due to location, but its a mess! I gave up staying here back in June and while still coming into town on a weekly basis through the end of the year, only stayed here one additional time. Why? Well first off, they have been remodeling here in perpetuity. Seems like they started in 2010 and never stopped. The lobby is remodeled, but they have been doing the rooms since June and have not finished yet! The wifi is spotty. I am Platinum Marriott, but can't even get a free cup of coffee in the am? Paying a few bucks would be ok, but then it takes them forever to make a cup. There is nothing to do in the area or a decent restaurant for dinner within miles. Front desk service here is good, but even they can't answer when the remodeling will be completed. The funny thing is that the rate is not even discounted to reflect the noise, disruption and inconvenience. Do yourself a favor and pick a place in Bossier. read more

Arrived late as the Hilton Garden next door (first choice) was sold out. My party got 2 adjoining rooms on 1st floor. Staff was pleasant. Immediately upon getting in room a roach was seen and killed in bathroom. I absolutely do not do bugs but it was late, I was exhausted and would have had to disturb the rest of party in the next room which they had an early morning meeting. I awoke at about 5a to use the bathroom and saw another roach which I killed. At this point, I'm done! I walk out the bathroom and turned the lights on and, as I am walking to the phone to call the front desk, I see multiple roaches on the entertainment center and one was crawling out my purse. I was disgusted and am almost in tears recalling the moment, it was horrible! I was screaming and my friend heard me next door and said that they had seen them as well in their room and that I must not have not heard them mentioning it before I went to sleep. WTH?!! The hotel staff was apologetic and gave our $ money back. Duh! However, we received no phone call from manager, Marriott points or any actual resolve for the "trauma" and us having to leave for another hotel at 6a. Which we had to pay extra for an early check-in. I literally had to shake out everything outside the hotel and, when shaking out my sweater, a roach crawled out. I was in tears! The hotel itself was very clean and freshly remolded. The staff was friendly and helpful but no continental breakfast or complimentary coffee. This was very surprising as the room rates should have covered the breakfast and coffee. The had a little bistro sitting area that was hip and modern but they served Starbucks coffee at a premium price. We ended up eating breakfast next door at the IHOP rather than pay for it here. read more

We often choose Courtyard by Marriott hotels because the brand standards are consistently good. However, this hotel has fallen far below corporate standards. There is no included breakfast despite their own website including one with each room. The decor and lobby are dated and worn. The room itself had visible cobwebs and smelled musty. The tub in the bathroom need to be refurbished or replaced. Outside there was a huge mosquito population that we did not experience at any other hotel during our stay in Louisiana. Overnight there was an intermittent clicking sound coming from the locking mechanism that made it difficult to sleep. We will be contacting corporate regarding our stay. read more

This hotel is okay. Their lobby gives you the impression that you are in a very nice modern hotel. However, when you step out of the elevator, you are transformed to something worse than a LaQuinta. Most things are out of date and on the economy side. So, you would think you should get free breakfast, but no, they charge you for it as well as the coffee downstairs. People were nice but I would suggest something different if you're putting up the money for a Marriott. This place has a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde thing going on. read more

Had a late last minute flight to Shreveport due to a funeral and was totally thrown off schedule. Needed to check in EARLY and was initially told that the hotel was full. The front desk staff was so nice and professional in telling me I couldn't get upset. As I was preparing to leave for another hotel James saves the day and finds me a room! I am sooo appreciative of his amazing effort to go above and beyond to accommodate me. It's reasons such as these that I remain loyal to Marriott. read more

I admit that I came here because I couldn't get into the other Courtyard (with better reviews) in Shreveport but found this hotel to be quite nice. I tend to pull in quite late so security is an issue. The parking lot is entirely lit, clerk had the doors locked and after a quick buzz, was let in. Check in was fast, rooms are modern, clean and spacious. For the cost, a much much better than average room! read more

Not a bad place to stay. Here are a couple things you should know: ask to stay in a room opposite I-20, the traffic noise is easy to hear and not surprisingly goes on all night; breakfast IS NOT included, even though their web site said it was, disappointing but there are inexpensive options near by; the price is okay, not bad by national standards maybe a little high for Shreveport, LA; easy access to I-20, if you're traveling it's not too far off the beaten path; towels need updating, kinda scratchy, not soft anymore; overall I'd say C+ or B- the one thing that aggravated me was after spending the day outside freezing my rear end off at a football game and coming back to my room exhausted, housekeeping made up my room, collected the used soap, shampoo and conditioner BUT DIDN'T LEAVE FRESH ONES! Luckily I had an old bar of soap in my travel bag but I didn't have shampoo, you might want to check your toiletries before it gets too late. read more

Most of the staff are nice however some are incredible rude. The rooms are incredibly hot. Most of furniture in lobby is worn out which is sad because its about the only sport to watch TV with a signal that's not half static. Also the shuttle is slow and won't take you hardly. I stayed here for business for two weeks with no car and end up walking almost everywhere. read more

This was the worst experience I ever had at a hotel. Thank God our stay was only one night. Sandra at the front desk is a complete idiot. We booked 3 rooms at the hotel. The rooms were supposed to have 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa in each room. We received only one room with the sleeper sofa. When we went to the front desk to tell Sandra that we received the wrong room she preceeded to tell us that they did not have rooms with 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa, they only had rooms with king beds with sleeper sofas not realizing she had just gave my brother the very same room she swore the hotel did not have. She also blamed hotels.Com and a aid they falsely advertised rooms they did not have. Thankfully the maintenance man walks up and tells her she is wrong and offers us a rollaway bed so that we all had a place to sleep. I think it is absolutely ridiculous that the maintenance man had to come and run the front desk. Sandra also charged my card an additional $20 after swearing to us that there would be no charge because we paid for our room at the time of resrvation. And as if this was not enough...the air didn't work in any of our rooms so we all spent the rest of the night sweating. This trip was to celebrate my mom's birthday and thanks to this hotel she had a terrible experience on her bday. We will never stay at a COURTYARD MARRIOTT AGAIN! read more
