NEVER,NEVER,NEVER purchase a gift card on the Internet for Cousins Subs. I recently ordered a $100 gift card as a gift and it never came. I called cousins and they said if it was bought on the Internet by their provider, they are not involved with the transaction. This of course is nonsense as they are an agent acting on behalf of the company. They have shunned their duty to the customer. I am still in pursuit of getting this card replaced, but I'm having a very difficult time reaching the card provider. Further, reaching customer service at Cousins Subs is a chore beyond belief. I was very disappointed at cousins for my taking my points I collected. I had over 367 points, i earned a free sub for 100 points and Cousins dropped me down to 17 points. Every time I walk in, no one ever acknowledges you. You can wait inside forever before anyone acknowledges your presence. They only care about the drive through which was 8 cars deep that's why I went in. All yelling and talking to each other. No one even looks at you to say they'll be right with you. A few weeks ago, during the peak of the Roro Virus shutdown, we decided to support a local business and then found out that the local Potbelly's was closing at 4 p.m. That's not a typo. Who can eat dinner at 4? Searching for a backup, we hit upon Cousin's. While I've not had amazing responses in the past here, this was an all-around pleasant experience. So cousins has been hit or miss. Today was terrible. Ordered food w no tom no onions no lettuce due to family food allergy. Restaurant employee got angry at me saying food was fine. It was not. After 24 minutes waiting the food came out wrong. Waited longer and took that food home. Still smelled awful and made wrong. And it was. So got back in car and drove back to try to get the manager to fix this poor situation. I also commented they charged over 2 dollars when my daughter just wanted a small tap water. We never got the water and were overcharged. So no real apology or any effort to fix this mess. I now wasted 2 trips from home and an hour to get correct food. I was offered nothing but my money returned. No replacement food or upgrade or whatever a good manager would do after multiple failures. I took the food back to them twice. So they can see the exact problems. If i was a manager i would have refunded and made an apology for over charging and wrong food and offered to get correct hot fresh food made because i wasted two trips and spent an hour trying to get food out of this cousins. We have ordered from this location several times, each time hoping things will get better.... We have wrong things delivered, items missing, and the driver one time even "dropped off our order", ate it on the drive, and threw the trash from our order down the street.... I try to call and politely let them know of the issues and see if we can get corrections.. EVERY SINGLE TIME I CALL, it's a 10-30 minutes struggle to get someone to answer the Flippin phone. Every if they do, they just direct me to someone else and act like there isn't anything they can do. I have gotten an email with a coupon that expires super fast.. Gee thanks.. The worst Cousin's sub I've ever had. I got all the way home to see that there wasn't any lettuce on the sandwich. On top of that, the sandwich just looked pitiful. I tried eating the sandwich, and I wasn't pleased at all. Yuck! The service was slow and very dry. I'm not sure if there were alot of orders coming in for them, but there wasn't a line other than the 2 cars in front of me in the drive thru. This location will not see me again. Service is very slow. Subs seem expensive to me but they claim to use higher end ingredients. On my visit order 3 subs at 1:00 on a Saturday to eat in. Subs were just 7 1/2 in turkey($5.49) and Italian($5.99). No toasting, no grill no fries. Everything was a mess inside from ordering to food prep. They seemed to be prioritizing the drive thru orders because that kept flowing. Inside was another story my subs took over 20 minutes, for 3 cold subs. Subs tasted great but not worth the wait. Yall...when I say this was the worst experience with a restaurant in my life, I mean it. So bad that I've been a Yelp user for over 5 years and never written a review...until now. It's 630pm on a Saturday night. My wife went out of town and basically told me it's YOYO tonight.(you're on your own) So I think about my food options and decide on subs. I go back and forth between Jimmy johns and Cousin's but ultimately go with Cousin's because they have hot subs. So to the Cousin's website I go and at 637pm I order a double cheesesteak bacon chedder with all the fixins, a double pep melt and a order of cheese curds.(see receipt) and yes...it's all for me. #fatty The website tells me at 7:06 my order would be ready for pickup. I get there at 7:10 and there is quite a few people in the store. Some waiting for orders and some in line to place one. I already paid online so I just needed to pickup. I wait maybe 3-4 mins to get the cashier's attention before telling her I placed an order for pickup. She said that it'll be a couple mins. I asked how long and she said 5 mins for the sandwiches and 2 for the cheese curds. Ok fine. I cha cha to the side. 20 mins later and im still cha cha-ing. I finally get my food and was offered a soda for the wait. I'm thinking "cool, cause I like the coke machines where you can mix all the flavors." Waamp waamp. I get to the soda machine it's empty! Nothin but Diet Ginger Ale and Minute Maid light lemonade! I can't get jiggy with that. I tell the cashier and she gets me a soda from behind the counter. I finally walk out of the store and get in my car at 7:37, a whole hour from the time I placed the order. I make it home and open up the subs and both subs are just meat and cheese. With no fixins! I would go back but at this point i said F it and used every fixin I could find in my fridge. I had to settle for horseradish. Horseradish yall... Cousin's...I'm not telling you how to run ya establishment but let me tell you how to run ya establishment! Yall need some organization! There has to be 1 person on the grill at all times. He keeps the train chuggin. Also, the person taking orders and touching money shouldn't be the one putting any of the subs together. #yuck Work with urgency! Stop taking new orders if you're getting backed up! Instead, try to fulfill orders that have been sitting there. I literally stared at my subs for 5 mins because nobody was really fulfilling any orders. I mean I get it. I've worked in fast food before. Places get busy. Third strike. I'm sitting here parked at the side door waiting on my turkey sub for 40 minutes. I ordered ahead online.

Ordered a $25 gift card on 5/17/19 and a manager processed my order. Cousins was having a promotion of getting a free sub if you ordered a $25 gift card so took advantage of the promo right away. When I got my sub I then added an additional soup onto my order and gave the same manager my $25 gift card to use to pay for it. She grabbed the gift card, used it at the register, and then handed it back to me and gave me the soup. When I went the very next day to a Cousins on Brown Deer Rd to use the same card, I was told by the cashier that the card wasn't activated. I thought that was odd since I just got it AND used it yesterday. She manually tried to input the number and it still came back as inactive. She told me I would have to go to the Port Washington Rd location to have the issue fixed. So I drove to the Cousins on Port Washington Rd and asked to speak with the manager. A different manager than the woman who I worked with came out and I told him the story. He tried to ring up the card and the same issue happened where he said the card was never activated. I brought with me a copy of my bank statement showing that the $25 charge was applied to my account and I said you can either refund my credit card OR put the $25 on my gift card. He was about to activate the card, but he stopped and said that he didn't want his register being $25 short and that the original manager will be in tomorrow morning and that I need to have her fix it. So waiting to hear what will happen as now I have wasted 1 hour of my life and $5 in gas trying to fix a problem that should have never been an issue since this issue SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED WHEN I GOT MY SOUP. So here is what most likely happened and the damage it caused: the woman manager who processed the order gave away a free bowl of soup and never collect the money for it because she knew that the card wasn't activated when she used it at the register and couldn't charge the soup to the card but never fixed the problem. Cousins lost $3.50 in revenue. Since I ordered $14 worth of subs in the drive through at the Brown Deer location and couldn't pay for it due to an inactive gift card that food was wasted. Cousins lost $14 in food waste at the Brown Deer location. I wasted 1 hour of my life (priceless) and $5 in gasoline having to try to fix this ordeal and it still isn't fixed. So Cousins lost $17.50, I the customer lost 1 hour of time and $5 in gas money and the issue still isn't resolved. I understand mistakes happen as we are all human, but like I said this should have been fixed when the manager tried to charge my soup to the gift card and wasn't able to. So I went back to this location today and spoke with the same manager. She said she remembered me and said that the card worked when she rang up my soup which I don't believe and here is why: I never got a receipt showing the total balance on my gift card when I first received it or after the soup was supposedly rung up on the card. She added the $25 to the gift card with no fuss and for the first time ever I got a receipt print out showing the total balance on the gift card which I didn't receive at all on Friday after either transaction. Not wasting anymore of my time on this situation but if corporate wants to investigate feel free. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I walked in at 5:30 pm and besides the three employees behind the counter the store was completely empty. I waited at the counter for 10 minutes while one guy helped two cars in the drive thru. Let me just stop there and point out that 10 minutes is a LONG time to just stand there in an empty store while three people completely ignore you. I was litterally waving my arms near the end. Also, the guy at the window helped two cars... Meanwhile I'm standing two feet away and being completely ignored while I stand at the register. The two guys in the back looked up at me a couple times but did nothing and continued to gossip. After 10 minutes I had to yell "Are you closed?" to get someone to just acknowledge me... Wait, it gets better. I had ordered online and my order was supposed to be ready at 5:25pm. Remember when I said I arrived at 5:30pm? Well it's 5:42 now and the guy on window finally tells me it will be just a moment still doesn't take my order... Which btw, was an online order that I JUST WANT TO PICK UP! It was even prepaid! FINALLY, one of the guys that has been chatting in the back area asks me for my order. I say I ordered online and I tell him my name. He just walks away.... Not a single word. No, "Okay, let me check on that" or "Okay, just a moment"... Nope, the guy just did a full reset and walked away like the conversation never took place... So at this point I sit down and start looking up on my phone how difficult it is to just cancel the charge on my card because I have a feeling it will be easier than getting my food from these jerks... Five minutes later, the that I told I had an online order pokes his head out and yells that it'll be a couple minutes... It's 5:50pm at this point. The order was scheduled for 5:25pm... And it hasn't even been started. Then, oh yeah, it gets better... Then, the a very loud a rude voice yell "Why are you making that? Don't do that before the window orders." Before I have a chance to scream "Are you f*cking kidding me?!" The only guy that actually acknowledged me responded that it was an online order... The manager just grunted and went back to doing nothing. I finally get my order at 6:00pm. I grab it and start walking to my car... I'm just so happy I get to finally leave... Except, I realize as I walk out the door that I ordered a bottle of coke... And I wasn't given a bottle of Coke. Just then, I hear a click. The employee had locked the door behind me. At 6pm in the afternoon on a Sunday... The weather was fine. WTH?! I pounded on the glass as the guy walked away and was completely ignored. I stayed there pounding on the door for a couple more minutes in the cold before another guy came back and asked what I wanted. I responded that I wanted the coke for the order I picked up a couple minutes ago. The guy moved out of the way and just stood there... Gave this place chance after chance but no more. Employees are nice (this gets their only star) but what good is that if all else is PATHETIC. From wrong to-go orders to wrong toppings on (or not on) subs, to waiting upwards of 25+ minutes for a couple sandwiches...all at times when there's only a few people in the place and no more than 2 cars in the take out line!!! Do yourself a favor and drive the extra few minutes to the Brown Deer Rd or Capitol Dr locations - either one is infinitely better despite any negative reviews they may have. The cashier didn't even realize that the soda machine wasn't working and was selling soft drinks to people. Until a customer said something.
