Parents are longtime customers of this local auto repair shop, and last month was my first time bringing my own personal vehicle in. The lady who works there is very professional and friendly over phone and in-person. I had my car towed over after being given the number for a tow service. After evaluating my vehicle, the shop ordered the necessary part needed to fix my car before the Thanksgiving holiday. I was unable to drop in to pickup my vehicle a couple of times during and afterwards, but the shop are understanding that things tend to come up in a person's hectic schedule. read more

Please, whatever you do.... Don't ever take your car here, these people are a rip off, especially if you're black... I took my car here to get some work done, and they never fixed it... I had paid them ahead of time, so when I went to pick it up, everything was supposed to be fixed. However, when I arrived, it wasn't. When I told them that they hadn't fixed it, and that it was already paid for, they told me I had to repay them because it was already fixed. They stated that the part they had installed was no longer functioning, so they had to order a replacement part. As a result, I would have to pay them again to install the new part. Still, I had already paid them for that part ...So I had to end up taking my car to another repair shop and pay them for what they were supposed to have fixed. Now, I remind you that I have been bringing my car here for years, paying these people good money, and they have done me wrong... I had to pay the new shop over a thousand dollars because when they claimed they had fixed that part, they actually cut my wires to my airbag in my steering wheel. It was a mess... I had to pay for a new airbag and a new horn as well. Please don't be like me. Just stay away... People were telling me they were crooks, and they would keep charging me money for things they broke. I didn't believe them, because they had been fixing my car for years. However, I found out the hard way... Never again. read more

Place sucks and they are dishonest and get offended by constructive criticism. Had to return my car there multiple times for a simple radiator install and valve cover replacement. Was told it needed to be driven before being picked up to "burn the oil off from the repair of the valve cover". First time I returned was because after the repair, I checked the oil and it didn't even register on the dipstick. Additionally, good customer service would have been to actually degrease the motor (which takes 5 minutes), so I could've verified the repair was done correctly. Then when I brought it back and complained that the technician must've never checked the oil level before or after the repair, he came out to top it off and used "used motor" oil. When question about it, he told me oh it's gently used stuff we have laying around the shop, yet the woman on the phone (who knows absolutely nothing about car repairs) assured me it would've been the oil that was drained from my car when the repair was done. A: you wouldn't drain the oil for the repair that was done, and B: if you did, you would've done a complete oil change. So, everyone lied. For $860, to put used motor oil in someone's car is pathetic. Snap ahead two days later...It finally got warm enough outside to use the A/C to cool the cabin. Now, mind you, up to the day the vehicle went in , the A/C made the car cold enough to hang meat in. I called and told them the A/C no longer worked. This time the guy on the phone said the tech must have forgotten to do the evacuation and recharge. Told me to bring it back. Next day when my fiancé called to see if it was complete, the guy told her the system had a leak and that the tech actually told him the freon was empty when it originally came in. That was complete BS as the A/C system has never had a problem until the day it went to Covey's. After wrangling with him on the phone, they finally agreed to finish the initial repair and now it works fine. When I explained my frustration with the lack of customer service, the work, and basically being called a liar twice while being lied to, they attacked me for "insulting their tech" and told me to come get my car and not bring any vehicles back in the future. They didn't need to tell me that. I would suggest you don't either. If you owned a restaurant and the service was terrible, wouldn't you wanna know. They don't. Steer clear!!!!!!! read more

I bought a spyder convertible with the intention of restoring her. When I bought her she had 193k miles and the original timing belt. Considering the fact it's an interference motor I decided to park it and not drive it until I got the timing belt replaced. Being in the automotive industry my whole life, I knew how big of a job it would be as well as knowing the importance of replacing all components that rest behind the timing cover, plus all of the components that should be included in the replacement of the timing belt, such as the cam AND crank seals, hydraulic tensioner ,water pump and of course the timing belt. And that is exactly what I asked for when I called inquiring about the cost. I specifically asked for an estimate including everything behind the timing cover then went ahead and listed every part individually. I even told that lying winch behind the counter that I wanted to spare no expense and wanted it done right.. I wanted everything behind the cover replaced so that I wouldn't have to find myself having to have it done all over again a few months later nor have to worry about damaging the interference engine. When she gave me the estimate o thought it was low so I asked her if it included the cam and crank seals.. she reassured me that it did with a giddy and unprofessional "that's everything baby girl. The whole shebang." So when the work was done and I didn't see it on the receipt I figured it was part of the timing belt component kit and left it alone.. only bc I had worked with them on a professional level and trusted them, which was a mistake! Needless to say a month later I'm having to continuously put oil in my car bc of an oil leak and am out of town for work smh. It got so bad it took 22 qts of synthetic oil to get my car home from newark! At $9/qt ! Then to find out the camshaft seal was never done, making me have to pay to do the entire job all over again and replace the oil soaked and damaged timing belt a second time!!! Various bolts were left loose including the transmission Mount and my wheel! SHADETREE QUALITY WORK AND A DISHONEST SERVICE WRITER MAKE THIS PLACE A HUGE LIABILITY AND UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING PUT IN DANGER OR LIKE BEING LIED TO,I would find a more integrity driven repair facility read more

Hadf them replace my engine in a ford explorer sport track. They installed the used engine. the oil pan had a hole in it I went back and told them expecting them to replace it. I was told I would be charged because there was no warranty. I asked them to just put my old pan on it. they said it was sent back for the core charge. How do you instal an engine fill it with oil and not notice it leaking the oil from the pan? Crappy customer care poor service and an I don't give a crap attitude! read more
