As a automotive enthusiast I take pride in my vehicles. I have always seen them as a way to express myself and stand out differently from others. Such as an artist would do with their paintings. Despite other reviews, I have used auto works collision on two separate occasions. Both times I was setting high standards and both times I couldn't have been happier with the end result, detail, promptness and curtesy from staff and auto works team! Other body shops in the area seem to have moved on to joining with insurance company's and dealerships, biting off more than they can chew so to speak. There time lines and estimates for their work never seem to stay in line with their original estimates and trying to get ahold of them is as if I was a telemarketer trying to get a moment of there time. Although Delaware is growing at and extreme rate these days, Autoworks treated me as if I was still a local neighbor down the street, wether it was a few days later or even a full year later since I had stepped into there office right away I felt in good hands. I have a 2006 gto which is considered a rare car by today's standards. Parts are hard to get from a few select vendors, highly priced and usually made to order. When I had received my front sap fascia, I had taken it to 3 other body shops in the area. All of which told me that it being made of polyurethane that the expensive and efforts to paint it would take a long time and not worth the outcome. One out of the three others told me they did not even want to mess with it. When I went to auto works, the staff assist my situation, gave me multiple options, gave me a few different estimates and assured me that they could have it done in a timely fashion. Within a week it was ready to be picked up! It was right within budget as we talked about and emails/call's were sent to me in the process with timely updates! A year later, on 4th of July weekend a out of state driver backed up into my 2012 Silverado. After delays with the insurance company from the holidays weeks later I was finally able to get my truck to a shop to be fixed. I could not think of a better collision center to take it to. The staff remembered me and once again went right to work with estimates, rental reservations, and overviews about the timeline of the work that would be done. Emails & calls were once again sent to keep me up to date and everything was within reason. The paint looked flawless and months later, it still does! I had called a few weeks ago for a friend just to get and idea on painting a hood for him. The staff right away remembered me, and was happy to set up a appointment to check the hood out. It is safe to say that I have been doing business with auto works for years! It's rare enough to walk out of a auto body shop and not feel a list of worries you lay on yourself until your vehicle is returned to you. "Did I make the right choice?" "Will the estimates change?" "Will it really be done within the timeline they gave?" "what if...." I am one person with multiple experiences with the auto works collision team. My truck was rear-ended on February 28, 2020. Because there were two warning lights that stayed on, the truck was considered undrivable. After waiting a week to hear back from the other driver's auto insurance company, I decided I would work with my insurance company, which led to calling two local auto body shops, one being Auto Works, Dagsboro on the afternoon of Friday, March 6. I called the other body shop first, they said I could schedule an appointment for an estimate the following work but would not be able to start any work until April 13. I then called Auto Works and talked to an estimator, Jim. He told me I could bring in the truck that afternoon for an estimate and, if needed, I could leave my truck until it was repaired. I had already called my insurance company, so Auto Works was able to provide the repair estimate the same day. Jim could not promise to begin working on the truck until Monday, March 16. Auto Works completed all work, including getting the warning lights fixed through the Toyota dealer, and called me on Monday, March 16 saying that the truck was ready for pick up. The work was impeccable; Auto Works also noted that all work was guaranteed for the life of vehicle as long as I owned it. In addition, the truck was thoroughly cleaned, inside and out. Frustrating. They can do good work and they do have a good system of keeping you updated coupled to some genuinely nice people. However 4 trips back to get things right is an extreme inconvenience coupled to people not taking pride in their work. If they did they would never have missed over spray over essentially every part of the car a new wheel and tire improperly inflated and leaking and hand stains over most of the car when returned. Just picked up my 2013 Nissan from Auto Works in Lewes, De. Samantha at the front desk was great and as promised, kept me up to date on my car's repair status. The car was finished in 2 days as per estimate. Looks great. Estimate was right on. Although I hope to stay out of body shops in the future (and this was my first experience in 55 years of driving), I know where to go if I need them. Great job, Auto Works. read more

Don't ever bring your car here. My insurance said that this was a recommended shop. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. So far I've taken it back to them twice and I will not take it back to them again. They cut corners I am missing OEM parts on my car. I'm so frustrated. The first time I picked it up they never did a test drive after doing $6000 in repairs. Nationwide Insurance and any insurance needs to stop sending cars to this shop both locations. read more

I brought my SUV to Auto Works Collision Center after an accident. Today is my third time back. They did a sloppy job and did not repair correctly. The first time they repaired it they forgot to paint the bumper. Now I am back again three weeks later and this time the bumper is falling off. I would not recommend this body shop to anyone. One of the receptionists (during my first visit) was very unhelpful and unpleasant. I wish I could find the number to the owner or corporate office to let them know about my experience. The nice gentleman who provides the estimates is very helpful. He's the only reason I even came back to have them correct their faulty work. read more

I went to auto works collision in lewes on the recomendation of my insurance company following my accident on 5/1/17. I wnt to pick my car up the first time in the end of may and as soon as i laid eyes on it i coukd see that the paint did not match and the wheel well cover was missing there was no weather stripping on my door and there was blue paint in my black grill.... i went back to pick it up 6 more times btween then and the day i finally took it home and that was on 7/14/17 i was promissed that my car would look and run the way it did prior to the accident and i promise you that still is not the case. I strongly urge u to look your vehicle over very close before taking it home after having work done here. I still have things that I am finding that are not done right. The work that was done on my car was terrible.... the service was also very poor.... one man even when so far as to say, "i know we are sick of each other" ... I said, "I am sick of the poor work being done on my vehicle i never once implied i was sick of you!" They tore up the rims taking them off of the car they had to outsource the suspension work because they do not have the skilled people to do it and that was even done poorly.... my car had to go back for new cv joint and seals... i am having my car looked over next week by another shop because i do not trust the work that was done. This experiance was misreable, they had my car for over two months when they had said it would be 3 wks.... I will never ever take anything i own to this company again. The work the service just leave me feeling like my car is not safe. Thank you Auto Works Collision for leaving me with a 2 year old car i am not comfortable driving because i do not know what other things you cut corners on. Oh btw the estimate they gave was 2000 under what the work really cost so beware this company should be investigated for insurance fraud. The estimate and bill had parts they "ordered" then when i said that something was not right they said they did not "replace" that they "repaired" it well the bill says you replaced it so which is it? I would not recommend this body shop. We hit a deer and decided to have the work done here. I had to take the car back 4 times. The first time, the front bumper was not properly set or clipped in with about a 1 inch gap (it just snapped back in). Also, they left a fog light burnt out so they had to replace that but only after demanding that they do so. Then, I had to take it back twice for headlight adjustments because i couldn't see enough to drive at night. In addition to that, my headlight on the opposite side of the impact area started going off randomly. So, I asked them to please fix that and they wouldn't and haven't fixed that. Let me add that one week prior to the accident, it went through a Md inspection check and passed. I am forced to pay for this out of pocket because they say that I have to prove it was a direct result of the accident. I was instructed to go to a dealer and have them run a diagnostics on the light. It is $132 to do that and insurance will pay for it ONLY if they say that the light was a result of the impact. I had a wonderful experience with this company. My car was hit while sitting in a supermarket parking lot. My bumper was damaged and was fixed within two days. I also hit a deer and it damaged the front of my vehicle. I had extensive damage. They fixed it within the time they told me and it looked brand new. I would recommend this company to anyone. I would never bring a car to this place again. I spend $1,700 to fix damage on my car, and they ended up adding another $1000 of damage. They cracked the front bumper, which put my headlights out of alignment and put a 6 inch scratch on the side of the car. When I told them that they added damage, they simply said "We didn't do that." I fought with them through insurance but the pictures that we took before do not prove enough to insurance. These guys run a bad business and are thieves. Don't bring your car here. read more
