All the apartments are built in groups of 4 with a shared hallway. Two of my neighbors smoked in their apartments and the smoke made it into the hallway and all throughout my apartment. I was surprised as I didn't think smoke would move through the apartments like it did. I had to leave my apartment during the worst smokiest times because my wife and I couldn't take the smoke. We had symptoms of headaches, irritated eyes, and coughs from breathing in the smoke. I worked with the apartment manager and maintenance over several months to try to resolve the smoke issue as well as talking to the neighbors. Winthrop chooses to allow smoking in the apartments and the management has a pro-smoking attitude so nothing was done to fix the problem. I documented the problem and provided a doctor's note to get out of my lease early without fees, so thankfully I did not have to suffer the whole 12 months. It was still a major process, hassle, and inconvenience to get out of the lease. The first person I shared this with outside of Winthrop said she has a friend living at Winthrop with the same smoke problem. Management does not know who smokes. If you don't like breathing in smoke do not live at Winthrop. I wish I would have been warned. Other things that were minor compared to the smoke: hallway doors are hollow interior doors so you hear all the hallway noises. There was a semi parked out back for several months that would idle during the evenings and all night and was loud and kept us up.

When things broke, someone always came in and fixed it the day (or the day after) you emailed the leasing office about it :) the apartments definitely showed signs of age, but it was always clean and everything in the kitchen and the bathroom was kept in working order. There was a garbage disposal in the kitchen sink, so that was a big plus! The laundry room was great too! everything was kept clean and in working order. Garbage removal was also good. And I have to mention that snow removal was fantastic! As you all know, Ohio doesn't always have the kindest weather, but the paths and parking lots always got shoveled, plowed, and salted in a timely fashion. Also, I never had a problem finding a parking space in front of my door. The windows were nice and big, and always opened, closed, and locked with no problems. It was a very short drive to campus, and while you are close to I-75, the road noise wasn't obnoxious. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars was only because a lot of things were outdated and old. The deck and steps outside of the second floor apts were kind of creaky and there were lots of gaps in the wood, and there were always nails sticking up in places. Also, while the locks on the doors were good, the doors themselves were a little thin... (like one good kick could bust it down, although there was never any crime). The cabinets and drawers in the kitchen were extremely old and squeaked a lot, there was no dishwasher, and there was very little counter space. the most I could manage to have on the counter was a dish drying rack and a microwave (the two essentials lol) and it left little room for cooking and food prep. but the rest of the kitchen was a good size and there was room for us to have a big dining room table if we pushed it to the wall :) it was great to have room for such a big table for all of our eating and studying. overall, it's a great place to live! very convenient location, and efficient and friendly staff. and rent was very reasonable. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an apartment in findlay, especially UF students :)

I am not sure of her purpose there because she is never helpful and always looked annoyed somebody is in their. The manager and other guy are nice and helpful so if you are looking to move in go to the tattooed guy- super helpful and easy. Would recommend the complex and it has been a great experience outside of that one lady just giving off displeasure.

We told Ray our top budget and he did not even search for anything above it (none of that - oh lets search above your budget and could always offer lower stuff). They paid attention to what we wanted and were honest and efficient with finding what we would like. Ray knows the market, I would just mention a house and without looking- he knew all about them all. Ray/Juli move quickly, a house went on the market they thought we would like and at 6:00 AM Ray was on the phone getting the company to let us in the morning it was listed. They negotiated for us and helped us make a competitive offer, which was accepted. They both worked hard with the relocation company, through all the additional paperwork and legal documents and took it to closing on time! I highly recommend REMAX Findlay and Ray/Juli Frankart!!!

People, if you plan on listing with him BEWARE! I am currently a qualified buyer, not selling, but how he handled my transaction was totally disrespectful and possibly unethical. I will swear in a court of law what I am writing is the truth. I agreed to view a listing of his ONLY because he translated via one of his agents that if I offered $300k (the listing was at $330K) that he would "get it done". $300k was clearly stated as my max ceiling. Loved the house so I made that offer, and was promptly countered by the seller at $320k. I wonder if the seller's knew that Ray was telling prospective buyers that he would convinced the sellers to agree to the reduction in price before any offer was tendered? Hmmm. Also, another interested party has made the exact same monetary offer, which by the way, I'm being told he represents them too! Hmmm. Enjoy your fat commission Ray, to bad for the sellers though, but hey..as I have read in your replies in other reviews, you have "sold over 500 homes and your bound to have a few unsatisfied customers" Add another to your list

My husband and I interviewed several local construction companies and architectural firms. We selected Garlock Bros because of their professionalism and the look and quality of the recently completed homes that they provided as references. They also are very friendly, and you can tell they truly care about their clients. Office Manager Dana Colman and Bookkeeper Geri Bomia make you feel like an old friend the moment you come through the door. From start to finish, Jake Garlock was exceptional at guiding us through the custom home construction process. Although Garlock Bros provides complete design services, we found a house design online that we liked, so we purchased the CAD architectural design files. I use a power wheelchair, so we needed some modifications to the original house design for accessibility. Jake modified the CAD designs to reduce the distance between ground level and finished floor level to eliminate steps from the exterior porches into the house and create flush transitions between different flooring inside. He also made adjustments to the primary (master) bath and kitchen designs to allow additional space for wheelchair access. The total project cost estimate initially provided was very accurate to the actual costs. The cost of several of our actual selections for flooring, lighting, and other materials differed from the estimated materials costs (some higher and a few lower). However, Jake had enough "wiggle room" in the budget to allow for these changes without resulting in any significant overages for the final total cost. During the construction phase, Jake served as project manager and general contractor. Jamie Insley was the on-site foreman overseeing the construction team, subcontractors, and suppliers. Jamie's attention to detail, work ethic, responsiveness to questions and concerns, and overall quality of work was exceptional and ensured the overall success of the construction team. Even though we had done a whole-house remodel of a previous home in 2003, so much had changed with construction materials and technology in twenty years. Jake and Jamie explained to us the new materials, appliances, equipment, and techniques available and helped us choose the best products for our house project. We selected a few products that Garlock Bros hadn't used before. Jamie made sure the construction team understood how to properly install these products beforehand and oversaw every step of the process. Although we had a few minor delays due to subcontractor schedule conflicts and construction materials availability, Garlock Bros completed building our home in a very timely manner. Jake and Jamie communicated with us about these delays and worked to mitigate the impacts to the overall timeline. When our home was completed a few months ago and we were ready to move in, Jake and Jamie explained that they are still available to us whenever needed for questions or if we encounter any issues. Garlock Bros has a one-year warranty period on the construction, so if anything should occur once we are living in the house, they will be there to correct it. Overall, building our new home with Garlock Bros was a wonderful experience. If we ever need construction services in the future, we will definitely hire Garlock Bros again, and we would highly recommend them to anyone looking to build a custom home.

My husband and I wanted to visit and to see what plans and designs they had to offer. We met with Brian Nelson at the Cygnet site. He was incredible to work with. His professionalism, pride and attentiveness to what we were looking for was amazing. Just by talking with him initially on the phone and sharing our wants in a new home he presented us with a home plan that was a great template to start with. After our second meeting, he was able to then create a custom home to our very liking. He was never pushy. He always kept our plans in mind. It was an incredible experience. No wonder we decided to go with Schumacher Homes. Update one year later Aug. 2023 Just as Aaron Mahan promised, Schumacher came back out 1 year later to our home and addressed every single area of concern that we had. They repaired nail pops, corner beads, imperfections of any kind. They are top notch. They repainted the repaired areas. And even Culley, our Schumacher Warranty Repair Rep, cleaned my fan blades while he was putting a finishing touch on our wooden beam. (See photo) They brought out the very best 3rd party dry wall/painter.... Mark Lewandowski is awesome. Culley and Mark made this a painless and even great experience. NEVER did they look down on one of our needs. They were like "Give it to us!! If you want to build and you want the care after the build, then Schumacher is the builder with integrity, the professionalism, the skill and the follow through you're looking for. Our Schumacher Contractor during the build was Brian Arbaugh. I cannot begin to thank him enough for pretty much holding our hand through the entire process. His professionalism and integrity went above and beyond. Thank you Aaron Mahan for the incredible patients and follow through since we moved into our home back in August 2022. You have orchestrated so much on our behalf and we are profoundly grateful. Thank you Schumacher Homes for building us our forever home and for ensuring even a year later that it is every bit what we expected it to be and what you ensured it would be.

Had a house built from them 5 years ago from this location and since then have had problems since…read morethe beginning... original sump pump never worked flooded our basement before we even moved in. Leaking faucets.... leaking pipes which caused to drip onto finished ceiling and start growing mold. When it rains hard water comes in back door handle... seals around front door and back door are poor quality already coming off after the first year... on a windy day you can feel and hear the wind come through. And the upstairs is at least 5-10 degrees different then the main level. Very cheap homes and would not recommend to anyone.

Bought carpet and had it installed by Carpet Direct. Excellent selections, pricing and excellent…read moreservice! After several months, we had issues with the carpet. They came out to fix it. Thought it was good to go but a month or two later, same issue. Carpet Direct came back and replaced the whole carpet. This was again excellent service! Highly recommend them for flooring and will use them again if we replace any other flooring!
