I reached a point in my life where I decided it would be a good idea to have a membership to the library. This life decision was spurred by my daughter's (age 4) interest in books and reading! We found the Covington library and we were thoroughly impressed. The lay out of the library is well designed and easy to find the kids section. There are computers available to use and I was partial to the vending machine for snacks. There are private rooms to reserve and plenty of space to move about. The book selections were vast and the staff was very helpful when we signed up for our library card. The nice thing is that you can return your books to any king county library so even if we're not near covington, we have options. Excited we found this location! read more

Spacious library with high ceilings. My kids said there were limited books but it was nice to visit the library nevertheless. We did spot some homeless folks at the library and the librarians all seem patience and vigilant when they became rowdy. read more

I love it here. It's large and cozy. It has a section of computers. And movies and music CDs. Lots of nice soft chairs to sit on. It's fairly quiet. No homeless here. read more

It's a cute library, it's very spacious and clean. There's lots of room for sitting, computer usage and private rooms. There's lots of electronic hook ups and lighting. They have a decent variety of books for all ages. It's fairly quiet, everyone seems to be very respectful of others. The staff is very nice and willing to help at any time. The bathrooms are pretty clean. The library itself is very clean and organized. I enjoy reading and spending some quiet time there. read more

The Covington Library has been my go to library for YEARS. I live in Kent right near the Kent Library, but that's more of a community center/drug deal spot so yeah... Covington it is. The library is always kept super clean, there's lot of study/work space, and they even have a few reading spots with electric fire places, which I love! The Covington Library also puts on great events for children - when my sister was younger I would take her to their story times, and she loved it! I saw that they're doing a Santa Night soon with an American Girl gift card raffle drawing, so if you have children that might be something cool to do! The librarians here are also super friendly and always willing to help. read more

I love this library. We've been going to the infant story time for the past year. I love that they offer two options close together so if your baby is napping through one, you usually can make the other. I've also checked out mutliple books - in person and online - and it's always been hassle-free and no wait. The only thing I don't like is the parking lot. The spaces are so narrow! read more

This is a nice library. Problem is, they allow anyone to come in... as it is a public library. I propose a bouncer. A Library bouncer? Yes. A Librouncer. The relative selection of books is not hugely expansive and I find their magazine section to be larger than it needs to be, but this is a library. And libraries need reading material. And no one reads anymore so as long as you're turning a page with words, exercising your brain, then ok magazines, so be it. So here's the scoopness: -A very spacious building with the option to return your books via electronic drop off or with a librarian at the front desk. -Extremely helpful employees. They seem to know their library. -There is an area with about 20 or so computers for those who may not have personal access. I think, more than anything, people use them for the printer. -There is also a decent hold policy for books you're looking to get your hands on in the event you can't come immediately. -Lot of light comes in through the enormous windows they have all over the main area and study rooms. Oh yea, there are study rooms. -There is a quiet room where silence is encouraged. Not library silence. Not crickets silence. Not pindrop silence. No, no, this is get shot for less silence. Shhh... Did I go through any firsts during my experience here? Why yes, yes I did. Thank you for asking. I encountered my first experience renting a book onto a Kindle. And it was unavailable. I had to wait in line for electronic book rental. Blew my mind a little, but I waited. 'Twas James Patterson's "Cat & Mouse", I believe. By the time it came along I was halfway through David Wong's "This Book Is Full of Spiders". I also have never come across more ignorance than I have experienced in that library. All ages. It's sad, really. And the unfortunate part is that it's a very nice library that seems to care about the fact that when it wakes up in the morning and brushes it's booky teeth, looks in the mirror and smiles because... it's a library. Society wants to Fahrenheit 451 my books. I won't let it. I won't let it! I can't. Continue to read. Don't let Levar Burton down. I love this library!! Covington library has EVERYTHING.Tons of books, all different kinds of magazines,audio stuff, computers, u know- what every library has! They are super organized too.. They have like 3 study rooms that you can reserve. They also have outlets everywhere for you to plug in your laptop basically anywhere you want to sit. I like this library because it has big open space, very high ceilings ,and a lot of NATURAL SUNLIGHT. (BTW I love places with high ceilings and natural sunlight) lol.... Anyways, I came here to help study and we got a lot done and we were comfortable, and didn't have to worry about anyone being able to hear us or even be bothered by us. read more

I really like this library. It's not too huge nor too small. It's modern yet homey. Maybe it's the pine trees outside. Who knows. Anyway, I mainly come here for the computers so I can print things. (Cheapo nursing student!) I also frequent the large study room when I can't concentrate at home. I haven't had any problems with people being too loud, for the most part. (There have been episodes of old men who don't understand that they don't have to yell into their cell phones...) The staff members are friendly, and fairly quick to respond when the printer is out of paper. There's always a parking spot, plenty of community connections posted up front, and book suggestions should you need one. read more

I love this library. I bring my children to it all the time. It's quiet, cool, peaceful, helpful, and pleasant. There are activities throughout the summer and on the weekends that you should definitely check out! It's definitely a fantastic place to do some work or read a book on a hot summer day. read more

I really don't under why they would put some kind of activity room next to the quiet study area...there was some sort of children's event going on there at the time I was in the quiet study area and these kids were screaming and running like animals. Kids will be kids, nothing wrong about that, but the main area of the library was quieter than the quiet study area. It makes no sense. I was able to move to an available private room so that was good. Not sure what they were thinking when they remodeled this place to be configured the way it is. As soon as library opened, I was greeted by the friendly Staff. Literally the best public library in South King County. Staff were attentive to questions and were willing to help one find what you need. This is definitely worth the 15 min drive than the Kent library. Much more cleaner, space utlized for books and desks were very well organized. Not as many homeless people incomparison to Kent library. I will come back to finish up my Boards. read more

I love this library! The kids selection is great! And when I brought my two boys in they offered is a summer reading packet to give them a little more incentive to keep reading! The librarians are always so helpful when I'm stuck and can't think of my next book choice! They take the time to try and find something I'm interested in! Nice library to hunker down and study at the quiet area tables when I grew weary of studying at the crowded labs and library at GRCC.

This library is very clean and there is a quiet area that is very promoting to getting work done. Some libraries have a different ambiance and have a tendency to feel like a public bus stop or a shelter but this library has more of a "university library" vibe/culture. I am extremely impressed at the overall presentation and upkeeping of the facility. read more

Nice library in the cleaner part of Kent known as Covington. Massive variety for a small town.

This is a good library and it was recently remodeled to include all sorts of dramatic architecture, huge windows, more conference rooms, a flat screen TV/display. I'm sure there are others that would rave about all these upgrades and could probably list off all the additional changes that were made. I don't spend time at the library; I just pick up my books there after I have placed holds for them online. So for my needs: self check-out, it's fine. This library is conveniently located near my house, and I love that I can return checked out items to any public King County library. read more

During "children's" event staff kicked out mother & 4 children. Mother struggling with cranky baby who was too loud during a "children's" event. This holy institution has no room for cranky babies during "children's" events. Mother left crying. Oh well the library is safely in hands of staff who expressed their annoyance by being unaccommodating and inflexible during a "children's" event. Kudos. read more
