This resort was totally redone in 2025. The cabins are all brand new and beautiful and well-appointed. We really enjoyed our stay here and the owners were so nice. We will definitely be back! read more

Buyer most definitely beware. I took my family there for Thanksgiving in hopes of a comfortable getaway. Here's what we found.... 1) When we reserved the room there was no mention of the lake level being lowered. When we arrived the owner informed us that's the way it is every year. Obviously intentionally omitted from the property description or on the phone during reservation. 2) All the piers are rotten and falling in at a number of places. The photos on the site that include the piers are obviously well outdated. They are Not safe. 3) The cabins are not on the water. They are about 100 ft from the water and there are old dilapidated trailers between the cabins and where the water would be when it's elevated. 4) We stayed in cabin 1, it was musty smelling and the beds felt like they were at least 25 years old. 5) The cabins are advertised as sleeping 4. They do, however, the common space is not big enough for 4 people. 1 small loveseat and chair. We stood most of the time so the kids could sit. 6) I asked if there was a place to build a fire, the spot the owner referred to was a pile of wood refuse they had piled up from trying to fix things around the place and there was a 40 gallon plastic trash can next to the burn pile with rotting fish guts. Honestly, disgusting is an understatement. 7) We reserved 3 nights, after the 1st night it was painfully obvious we could not stay another night. I called the owner and respectfully said this was not what we were expecting and had to leave... with acute apathy she responded 'Ok then'. When I asked about any refund, she said 'nope, sorry'. We spent $350 on this place, we couldn't afford to go anywhere else. We returned home. This place is not what it appears to be in the photos. My advice is to go there and see it before you give these people any money. We intend on filing a consumer complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

Stayed there last week for three days. My mistake was to believe the reviews. We stayed in cabin three. Advertising said it had a screen patio, it did but no door, so no need for screens. Outdoor lights don't work. Cabin has back door but no curtain. Shower was put together wrong so unable to get hot water first Night. And then the bathroom. Sink not connected to wall, toilet is for midgets and then the best of all the front door doesn't go all the way to the floor so had to stuff towels under door at night to try and keep animals out. Had roaches, moths, and many spiders. Then the sofa is so filthy under pillows and remotes covered with food and sticky. Basically not worth 20.00 per night and it was for 100.00 sad really sad hadn't seen my brother in 2 years and had this terrible place to stay. read more

I had the worst experience with Pruett's. I had called ahead of time and asked if a pontoon was available, and what the cost would be to rent for the day. I was told a price that was higher than others in the area, but they were close by and we were ready to get out on the lake. When we arrived, we singed contracts, waivers, and all other paperwork. The only price mentioned was the same I had been quoted on the phone. After paying and signing all papers, we were taken down to the dock - which looked like something out of Alice in Wonderland. Walking down while carrying equipment and kids was extremely unsafe. I'm surprised they haven't had issues with people falling off in the water as the side-to-side curve on the dock is literally measured in feet, not inches. Then the boat...... Honestly I'm surprised it floats. It was completely run-down, none of the original electronic equipment worked. It was all aftermarket, rigged to make-do, with a throttle lever that had not divots, notches, or stop points. You had to guess where neutral was. One of the chairs fell off when I touched it - glad I didn't have a child in that seat. On reading reviews.... I see that this was commonplace for all boats, as we also rented on July 4th. We went through 3 fuel tanks in 4 hours. For 30+ minutes we were stuck with a boat that wouldn't start and drifted into the bank. I had to get out and pull the boat back to deeper water, get back in, and try, try again to start it. Eventually got the boat going again and didn't shut it off till we made it back to the dock. When we were finished, we were told to wait on the owner. We were then told we owed even more money for the fuel used. Now, after this incident, I've done my research and found this is commonplace. But I would expect any respectable business to make that clear ahead of time, like when a customer asks how much the rental will cost, or when signing contracts, or when giving instructions at the start of the rental.... not spring it on your when you're done for the day. All in all, the boat itself made for a horrible experience - the undisclosed charges were just icing on the cake. I would highly recommend against using Pruett's for boat rental. read more
