Then he called us at work, sounding drunk in the middle of the day, and threatened to take our house and have his friends in the sherriffs office remove us if we didn't pay. We had to refinance our house, and even though we paid the creep in full, he still tried to sue us and take our house. After the first coat, and my complaining of the sloppy job, he came back twice to "fix" issues of missed areas and staining over black hardware. He never removed the stain from the 6 hinges. I did that. What professional painter would use a 4" brush to try to paint around hinges? Worst of all, he lied to us. He said he would come back in 3 months to apply the 2nd coat. (he claimed he applied a 2nd coat to the north side which comprised maybe 20% of the total fence). We weren't home at the time so I can't be sure if he did or not. After 3 months in contacted him and said it was time for the 2nd coat. He told me he never said he would apply a 2nd coat and if I wanted one it would be $1000 plus materials. His last email communication to us: "Sir I never said I would 2 coats. Take care". Unprofessional work plus a liar.

He asks for payment in full BEFORE HE STARTS THE JOB. I signed no contract, didn't even initial an estimate bid, when he contacts my insur. co. and tells them he is my agent, pay HIM DIRECTLY. When confronted with this info he does a "retaliation bid" which is half the amount he originally bid, in an effort to reduce the amount the insur. would pay. That didn't work so then he said he'd file a lien against my property unless I paid the $4000 estimate in full that same day. Needless to say, I've taken legal measures against him, including reporting him to the Better Business Bureau. Stay away from this con artist, he's out to get your money, contract or no contract. He's full of hot air and intimidation tactics. Even the MT Secretary of State said he has no case if there is not a written contract. He harassesses me daily with phone calls and emails. He is not an ethical businessman, and that is putting it mildly. BEWARE!
