My experience with cox business has been by far THE WORST utility experience I've ever dealt with. It's seems their goal is to monopolize utility services in the New Orleans area. My business used them for phone, internet, cable and fax for over 4 years and I greatly regret not ending my services with them sooner. The unacceptable frequency of outages and poor quality of services notably affected the revenue of my business given that the outages would regularly force me to close my doors. Customer "service" and the account "managers" are deplorable. I switched to Verizon for phones / internet / fax and YouTube TV and couldn't be happier. Not a single outage during my first month and I'm saving over $200 per month. AVOID COX! read more

Not sure there are words enough for my frustration with this incompetent company. My brain is scrambled from being transferred three million times and I think I'll be humming hold music in my sleep. We were supposed to have service installed. We were given a two hour window and we gave them our phone numbers. We sat dutifully for the two hours with the door open.... and sat and sat and sat. Apparently they came, saw the door open, thought "looks like nobody home" and left. No calls, no "hellos?", nada. We spent the next 6 hours that day, and hours the following days, in a Dante-esque labyrinth of phone calls, online chats, and texts, being punted from one cheerfully unhelpful department to another, being told over and over that there was nothing to be done. We are tentatively rescheduled for 8 days from now and have basically been informed that it was our fault for... what reason I'm not sure... not standing in the open doorway waving an airport greeting sign that said "HELLO COX?" If we don't give up and cancel entirely, you'd better bet next time we'll be camped in the doorway in lawn chairs. Maybe we'll even rent one of those blow up wave-y arm guys. Maybe a sky-writer. I don't know if even that will get us service from this demonic company. read more

Don't switch, just don't. Stay with At&T if possible. Incredibly expensive service, everything about their equipment takes longer to do from checking the internet to recording a program. The software programs are awful. The service, the speed, the cost, all of it has been the worst experience I've ever had from a company. read more

Cox cable is the worst service in the state. Why are they the only service in metairie? The service is constantly down.

The cable and the internet constantly goes out several times a day. Constantly unplugging and rebooting the modem and cable box. I cancel the service after three months. My final straw was they charge me $75 for a service call to repair defected refurbish equipment that they installed. I changed the wireless box 4 times in 3 months. Their internet service is the worst I've ever encountered. Until moving here, I had no problems with internet service - usually good. Not now. I don't know who regulates them but as soon as I can find out, I'll report there, too. COVID changed the landscape - working from home is now a requirement. Cox's connection is intermittently but frequently bad. After more than a dozen calls, they supposedly fixed a short in the lines. But the problem continues. BUYER BEWARE: Terrible customer service at Cox Business. I had Cox at my business. Sold the business and brought the equipment to the Cox store on Elysian Fields Ave. They scanned it in. Now it turns out Cox is telling me that that is not the procedure for a business account. You have to sign a document sign termination 30 days in advance and UPS the equipment to a different location. Plus they say I have an account manager named Adam Brooks, whom I have never met; and only he can cancel the account. He was supposed to call me within 24 hours but he has not. Despite several phone calls and three trip to the Cox store - no one ever informed me of these procedures. They want to keep billing me for services I do not have. Its crazy! read more

Consistently the worst service of any internet provider I have ever encountered. At least once a day I experience outages. I have spent countless hours on the phone with "customer service" who merely recite scripted answers, useless suggestions and a multitude of ways to charge you for service calls and insurance policies. They will inevitably blame your router to get out of reporting an outage and admitting it is their faulty equipment and/or incompetent technicians causing the problems. I hate to think how much time I will never recover spent dealing with this sorry excuse for a cable provider.
