She listened to my needs and was able to provide some recommendations as well as highlight the differences between products. The balm I went with was like $100 but so worth it. I recently relied on a female budtender's recommendation when choosing flower. I purchased it based on her advice and took it home, only to discover that it was extremely dry--practically like straw or hay. This was not what I expected after paying for quality cannabis, and I was disappointed that I had no opportunity to properly inspect or handle the product before purchasing it. Since the remodel, customers can no longer look at or handle packaged products as they could before. Everything is kept behind the counter, so customers must depend on employees to choose or recommend products. When that recommendation results in extremely dry flower, the customer is stuck with it. Customer service has also noticeably declined. The store feels very different from what it used to be and seems more focused on controlling the customer experience than helping customers make informed purchases. I have also noticed a pattern in how customers appear to be selected for service that makes me uncomfortable. From what I have personally observed, the manager appears to direct employees regarding which customers to assist, and I have seen what appears to be preferential treatment based on how customers look. I cannot speak to anyone's intentions, but the pattern has left me with the uncomfortable impression that customers with lighter skin may receive more favorable treatment. Management should take this seriously and investigate. The lobby and check-in process contribute to this feeling. Customers are checked in through a computer system, and employees can see who is waiting even when there is no line. The way customers are approached and selected for service can differ noticeably from person to person. Marsh & Ash used to feel like a place where customers could view products, make informed decisions, and receive good service. Since the new ownership and remodel, it feels like another cookie-cutter California cannabis shop, and the overall experience has gotten worse. The dry flower was the final straw. I paid for a product I expected to be fresh and usable, based on the recommendation I received, and instead ended up with flower that was excessively dry and poor in quality. I hope the new ownership and management take this review seriously. Customers deserve fresh, properly stored products, honest recommendations, consistent service, and equal, respectful treatment regardless of appearance. Based on my recent experience, I cannot recommend Marsh & Ash.

When at High Times you can actually walk through the store and pick up and read the label on the products if I have questions I can always ask.
