After a 3 day camping trip, we were looking for a place to take a shower on the way to a work conference. Thanks to Yelp, we found a spot outside of a national park. Coyote Corner is near Joshua Tree so I imagine it's frequented by hikers and campers looking to clean up before the road. You pay four dollars for a coin that is used for a 7 1/2 minute shower. Once you pay, your name is put on a list to wait for one of the two showers. Each room is private with a toilet, Shower, and sink. I thought the showers were relatively clean considering the amount of people that probably go through every day. 7 1/2 minutes was more than enough to finish a shower. Bring shower shoes and your own toiletries. The store itself was eclectic and spiritual. They had bowls of magical creatures to put in your pocket to throw at your enemies. I liked the hippy vibe and the friendly service. read more

Sooo Cute, totally a hippy vibe, great place to get souvenirs as a memento of your trip to Joshua Tree National Park. I popped in for some climbing tape as the gear store across the way ran out and recommended I check out the Coyote Corner. They have a tiny little camping/ climbing section. I also couldn't resist a cute t-shirt shirt for myself and a magnet for my fridge. Perfect spot to buy souvenirs and gifts! They literally have everything, ranging from magnets, postcards, wand sage, crystals and stones, hats, jewelries, clothing, journals, toys, you name it! Reasonable prices and they also accept credit/debit cards. This place is located in a little plaza with other attractions to see such as the salon museum, colorful school bus, plus the World Famous Crochet Museum (tiny green square museum)--definitely a must-see! Recently went to this shop on the corner with my family and it was surprisingly cool inside. There is a ton to choose from as far as souvenirs go and my wife left with some vintage clothes and some really cool pottery from a local artist. The girl working there was super nice and extremely helpful despite the crowd. Definitely recommend hitting this store on the way in or out of the park. read more

The general store has a wide variety of gifts and supplies for kids and adults. Besides the usual trinkets and touristy items, the shop also contains basics for camping and rock climbing. They have a wide range of candy and small snacks. I was impressed that they sold hiking sticks. read more

The air conditioning is the best!! It's so hot out here haha. But what helps is that they carry lots of locally made items with so much history in them. Dream boxes, jewelry, diaries with leather binding, and every other odd and end you could want in a gift shop. The woman working here has such a nice demeanor and everyone at these little shops in JT is so kind! Los Angeles could really use some more people like you haha. I love you guys!!! Coyote Corner is the staple of JTree. You can get your stickers and key chains, tshirts and sweaters, and a lovely variety of camping thingies for the forgetful camper... Headlamps, guidebooks, climbing salve, good ol JTree lip balm. They have hot showers!!!!! They have cute girls!!! They're next to the Saloon!!! Love my fellow hippies. These guys are currently fighting the power. 99 cent store wants to post up across the street. Fuck that noise!!! Stay in shitty Yucca Valley and leave these rad folks alone. read more

SHOWERS FOR CAMPERS ALERT!: $4 for 7.5 minutes They take card or cash. Private bathroom (unlike a gym bathroom/shower facility layout) with toilet, sink & mirror. Only 2 showers/bathrooms. 20 minute limit per person. But do the math & you could easily wait an hour if there's a line. Arrive when they open is best bet to avoid a line. And call ahead first to ensure they're open & no line! read more

Although this gift shop is called "Joshua Tree National Park Gift Shop" it is a privately operated store and it is not part of Joshua Tree National Park. This gift shop is located directly across the street from another gift shop, that is, the gift shop run by the National Park Service. Joshua Tree National Park Gift Shop is the better gift shop. It has a better selection of books, apparel, souvenirs, and minerals. From this gift shop, I have purchased those wonderful pop-up postcards, where the act of unfolding the postcard causes animals and cacti to pop up. Also, from this gift shop, I have purchased books on desert animals, which I mailed to my mother. Furthermore, this gift shop caters to the desert-spiritualists, because of its selection of gems and crystals. As mentioned above, the gift shop across the street (the shop run by the National Park Service) is somewhat disappointing. During the years 2011-2014, I made twentythree trips to Joshua Tree National Park, and several visits to the two gift shops. That is how I know which gift shop is the better one! read more

A cute, stocked up, souvenir/convenience store in Joshua tree. They have anything you could need for a trip in Joshua Tree if you forgot to pack everything like I did. They mostly have souvenirs and knick knacks but the selection they offer for camping accessories is really good too. I ended up getting a survival blanket because the weather that weekend was super cold and it definitely helped. They have showers $5 for 7&1/2 mins. The showers were clean and well kept. This sweet little shop at the west mouth of Joshua Tree National Park is the quintessential little town store. It's a combination of hippie, new age and a rock climbers paradise. The people are fantastic; down-to-earth and helpful with loads of local knowledge. Do not miss this place either on your way in to or home from Joshua Tree. read more

It was an interesting enough shop. I stopped by on my way out and purchased a break your own geode. Ignoring the fact the charged me an extra 50 cents for the "geode" before tax I went home fairly excited to open the stone. After splitting the rock perfectly in two I discovered it was not a geode at all. There was no crystalline nature to this rock and it had even less sparkle than the granite in the surrounding desert. Nonetheless after being overcharged and disappointed I find it important that others hear about this experience and consider it before spending any money. read more

The only (as far as I know) place in town to grab a shower if you've been camping/climbing in the park. Being the only game in town, they COULD get away with trashy bathrooms, big shower rooms, flickering lights and graffiti walls, but they DON'T! There are two shower rooms and you have to get the key and a token inside. Tokens are $4.00 each, but if you're going to be staying for a few days, you can buy 5 for $15.00. Each token gives you 7.5 minutes of water, and the water IS nice and hot! On the left is the "Duck" room, which has a bench, and a place to put your toiletries in the shower. On the right is the "Moon" room which does NOT have a bench, and does NOT have a place to put toiletries. Both rooms have a sink, mirror, bountiful hooks on the walls to hang stuff, a shower, and a toilet. Every night when we stopped in, we found the shower rooms to be well light, clean, and very well maintained. I really appreciated them having the showers and think they do a fantastic job keeping the place sparking! Thanks, Coyote Corner! read more

Cute little hippie gift shop with a side room full of nice climbing gear for those looking for something a little more practical than silk wraparound skirts and sun-and-moon-printed scarves. The owner has a great collection of hats, too, in case you forgot yours, and there's a great book section with a whole bunch of nice books on hiking/biking/camping in the park as well as the geology, history, and plant and animal life of Joshua Tree. (A few on growing pot in the desert, too.) read more

Cute place, they have showers in back for the "tourists" and inside are shirts galore, candles, incense, and knick knacks enough to keep you there an entire hour just messing with stuff. They also have a little spot in the corner to the left of the entrance with shoes, and gear for your stay in JT Nat'l Park. There is a hammock style chair to the left of the entrance out front and a sale items section on the porch too if you feel the need for something really flashy (code word for ugly). In the lot directly next to this place, there is a pizza stand that always smells awesome, I will try and review that someday, not sure if they're owned by the same people or not but it's only about 50ft away. read more

I usually stay away from gift shoppy stores like this, but since I forgot my rain poncho at home and it was pouring rain, I was looking for an inexpensive replacement for the trip, but that I could also hopefully use (or loan) in the future as well. After visiting a certain store across the street and finding their cheap option was $25 (the normal option was $50), we wandered into Coyote Corner. It is touristy, no doubt, but more like a hippyish general store (minus the groceries). I couldn't pass up a mini star guide and a gorgeous artist's card, as well as the aforementioned poncho at $5, and didn't even get close to what I would have spent across the street. read more

Chris, this is in regards to how your employees treated my family and I at your store. The girl with the purple hair and the girl in the brown CJ and Cesar I Believe they said their name was. Now I understand the pressure of the new regulations and restrictions due to covid, I myself am a shop owner which is why this time after many times of visiting we finally decided to stop by your store to show our support to small businesses but however this wasn't the case with your shop. We wanted to go in as a family being as it was the first time visiting your store both times we were denied to go in together- my husband and I and our 7 year old daughter. One of your employees denied us entrance twice. So I told my husband to hold on so she could do a proper count. Then out came what seemed to be somewhat of a manager and told us we had an attitude??? As a business woman all money is green! And durning this time every penny counts even if you're next to a national park. And seem to have been there for quite some time. I felt very disrespected and discriminated against. I called to ask to speak to the owner so you are aware that you have people in a customer setting with no customer service what so ever driving away business with their lack of manners and know how to treat your customers. I hope that durning this pandemic this economy will continue to thrive and that small business stay in business but how my family was treated today was absurd and absolutely ridiculous. So I chose to take my business elsewhere down the road and spend my money there. I sincerely hope that the staff you have chosen to run your store doesn't run it to the ground because honestly myself, my family and friends come down here quite often and they will hear how we were so poorly treated after standing I line with our daughter and following regulations. I only gave this place a 1 star because I couldn't give them any less. Horrible way to treat customers to make sure they never come back and tell their friends and family to do the same. read more

Nice National Park Visitor Center with great new Interpretive Displays. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Store is well stocked with interpretive items and a few souvenirs. The Cafe next door is a nice convenience if you're hungry. Don't forget your water! read more
