Honestly, one of the worst experiences I've had at a line dancing bar. We were literally told that we weren't allowed to have a dance circle on the dance floor... at a LINE DANCING BAR. We weren't bothering anyone or causing problems, but apparently having fun in a different way than the people doing the same routine over and over again was an issue. The lack of space awareness on the dance floor was ridiculous. People were literally pushing others out of the way/off the dance floor just so they could have more room to dance. People were constantly bumping into our chairs, and not once would they apologize or even acknowledge that they had hit someone. If you looked at them afterward because they had just slammed into your chair, they would actually give you an attitude and become rude toward you. The whole atmosphere felt incredibly cliquey and hostile. Instead of people being respectful and making room for each other, it felt like certain regulars believed they owned the dance floor and everyone else needed to get out of their way. And then there's the fact that they do the same line dance to practically every song. There's barely any variety, so if you aren't interested in doing the exact same routine over and over again, there really isn't much else to enjoy. For a place that is supposed to be about dancing and having a good time, there was a surprising lack of basic courtesy and respect. Between being told we couldn't have a dance circle, people pushing others off the floor, constantly bumping into chairs without apologizing, and the rude attitudes when you dared to look at them, we definitely won't be coming back. read more

I came here from Long Island, New York, after performing a show with a friend. We were immediately met by a worker at the entrance who had a blonde strip in his hair, and the experience went downhill from there. He asked my friend to remove his chains, which was completely fine--we complied without any issue. I then tried to make friendly conversation by mentioning that I was from Long Island, New York, and instead of being welcoming, he immediately started making negative comments about where I'm from. It was incredibly rude and unnecessary. I was honestly shocked by how we were treated. I always hear about Southern hospitality, but that was not our experience at all. The bartenders weren't friendly either, and the overall atmosphere made us feel unwelcome as visitors. For context, I have over 3 million followers across my social media platforms (@juleswalcott), and my friend has over 360,000 followers. We weren't looking for special treatment--we just expected basic courtesy and respect like any other customers. Unfortunately, this was one of the least welcoming experiences I've had while traveling. The younger girl instructor and another instructor who was a guy that dances with the young girl was so rude. The girl was yelling saying for partner dances we need to go right to the corner, reminder everyone not going to the corner not even the instructors. The girl pretended to kick someone because they were not going to a corner for partner dancing The guy was pushing ppl out of his way and yelling at everyone who may have a toe on the dance floor. They would be yelling and screaming at everyone if you tried to make your moves your own. Lastly there a guy that sets himself in the bathroom to give u soap and paper towel if you don't tip he won't give u soap or paper towel I've gone to many line dancing bars in the east coast and this has to be the worst one out there read more

Loved It!! Me & my sister planned doing this for a couple of months and we were very nervous. But we definitely got over that super quick, Steven the amazingly funny security guard greeted us & made us smile. Awesome place if you're looking for a fun but laid back place to hang out. Concert nights ofc can get rowdy but they're usually managed well. Some other reviews you can tell aren't umm.. from around here but don't let them discourage. The bartenders are always friendly, the security guards mind their business until given reason not to. Absolutely not. Never had someone wand me with a metal detector before entering outside of a museum in DC/government building. Service charge to enter & have to have then scan my ID cause obviously I don't look 21 or older. Was immediately hit with an overwhelming smell of what can only be described as old leather in an August Texas Heat Wave. On top of that I was given so many side looks cause I wasn't wearing the typical attire one would wear there. Overhead music was way too loud. The bartender just wanted to hurry the order along & got it wrong. This place is the stereotypical epitome of what Trailer Park White Trash is. I don't even know where to begin with this absolute nightmare of an experience. I went to this honky tonk bar with a group of friends, looking for a fun night of country music and a few drinks. What I got was the complete opposite--an unsafe, aggressive environment that left me with bruising so severe I had to go to the hospital and file charges. First, the bar was incredibly irresponsible with how they served alcohol. We were served multiple drinks, and the bartenders kept pushing rounds on us, despite us not needing them. I've been to plenty of bars before and have never been as over-served as I was here. It felt like they were encouraging us to drink more than we could handle. Then, things took a turn for the worse when I went outside to get some fresh air. I was confronted by a bouncer who was already agitated. When I asked what the issue was he said "You're too drunk for your good, let me see your ID you're obviously underage". I am 26 years old. When I ignored him and laughed it off it hurt his sense of authority and he immediately got physical, starting with little grabs at my arms and with me attempting to move away without drawing attention and carefully stroking his ego he then began pushing me in a way that felt completely unwarranted. Before I knew it, two other bouncers joined in, and they threw me to the ground and were just completely unhinged in their aggression saying "You need to leave". A reminder I am here with 3 other women less than 130 pounds all under the age of 26. I ended up with bruises all over my body--my face, arms, and legs looked like a patchwork quilt of dark purple and blue marks. I had to go to the ER to make sure I hadn't suffered any internal injuries or a concussion because I lost consciousness. The whole experience was traumatic, and I'm still in shock at how something like this could happen. I filed charges, and I'm hoping the bouncers responsible face some serious consequences. No one should ever have to endure something like this when they're just trying to have a good time. This place is a dangerous joke. I would highly recommend staying away, especially if you don't want to end up in the hospital like I did. They may have good music and drinks, but no amount of that is worth your safety. The way they treat their customers is appalling. If you value your well-being and don't want to get assaulted by security staff, take your business elsewhere. You've been warned. -- One very shaken, disappointed customer. read more

Im originally from Mississippi and because I lived mostly out in the country most of my life, of course I like country music. I was impressed with this bar / night club. Its big and because of that I could always find a place to sit at. It's known as the country line dancing club if you ask me. The cover charge ranges from $5 to $10. Most of the time it is $5 or $6. If you bring your membership card with you it's only $5. Anyway, you can have a lot of fun here. There's a bull you can ride in here and there is an up stairs section too. Now, this place is mostly for country line dancing and that's for every song just about. There are some regulars that come here every Friday and Saturday and you can follow them in learning how to dance. There's a really good band that plays here called Out of the Blue. The lead singers name is Chris and he is friendly enough to speak to you and even talk to you. All I can say is they are a great band that plays great music. Yes, I mean there are some good musicians in this band. You have to come and listen to them. read more

Last time I went coyote Joe's the witch at the door wouldn't let me in because I had a bag with my lunch in it. She was really hateful. If you don't like your job, move on...get another one. Cover charge isn't warranted because it's not that fancy of a place and there sure as hell isn't any full restaurants inside. You have to go outside to a little truck or whatever is there. I was treated extremely unfair at this establishment. They charge more than it's worth, just to heat some music that is too loud. The drinks are over priced, and the customer service is equivalent to that of Taco Bell. Save your money and do not go here. SO MUCH FUN! First time line dancing and had a blast. You can easily pin out the regulars, find them and then follow them to learn the steps. We decided to go here because old college friends were visiting and wanted to do some line dancing while down south. I found Coyote Joe's and we couldn't have been more pleased. We went on a Saturday night with the house band performing, from the staff to the customers a great group of people. We were told before we went, be careful of the crowd. We had NO PROBLEMS. We were thinking to ourselves what is a "bad crowd" to people here? My husband and I just moved here from Jersey and worked in Manhattan, and my friends were visiting from Detroit, maybe we're just jaded and used to much worse? Maybe it also because we didn't go there during a live concert night when it's jam packed? To me, it felt like the set of Roadhouse with the feel of Footloose. This place is the worst bar I've ever step foot into. We were visiting Charlotte and heard Coyote Joes was a fun bar to visit. We came in for 15 minutes and out of nowhere several bouncers came up and hit my boyfriend and knocked me down in the meantime. We have absolutely no idea what caused this, our only guess is that they are racist because we have seen several similar reviews about minorities having a similar experience. Fix your egress parking. This is literally a hazard. Have staff directing parking. Team with with Charlotte transportation and block one lane on the road. If you're going to operate like a mass-volume event venue then get your basics covered. Waiting over an hour to leave a Tuesday night event is a joke. read more

THIS PLACE. If I went missing, this TRULY would be the last place you would find me. That said however, despite what I thought was going to be a horrible time, this place was pretty rockin'. Literally. We rolled up here on NYE to say farewell to the worst year of my existence- 2016. I was pretty much dragged out here with a couple redneck friends of mine. I was told nothing more than, yes, this is a "country dancehall" with decent bar(s) and decent live music. So why not, I gave it a shot. When our Uber dropped us off, I was reluctant to hear it was only a $20 cover for. Ok, not bad. We walked in and found a solid crowd- good amount of people, but not overcrowded. Walked over to the bar for drinks. It was a little disappointing at first to see the amount of people at the bar, but, wait for it, they turned out drinks super quick (must be "Yankee" bar tenders I guess). Truly was a breath of fresh air. This continued for the majority of the night. The music was pretty sweet solid. They had a good cover band booked. I honestly thought I'd be forced to listen to country all night but they had a good mix of country to rock to classic rock, etc. Although I didn't utilize it, great dance floor space with a good amount of people doing their... "thang". Everything about this place was spot on for a cool nightlife hang. I will however, echo Thomas C. that yes, there are some people this place can do without. Went for a concert, left early! They totally oversold tickets. They had us slammed in there like a bunch of sardines and staff just kept yelling at everyone to keep walkways clear for fire code. It's a huge place but unless you are in the main dance floor you could not hear the music. If you stood upstairs you couldn't see the stage because of advertisement banners on the railings.
